Talcorin lounged in the noon sun, basking in the warmth. He smiled as he watched Illitshia and her cub play at the edge of the river, and gave himself over to the peace of their home with a shake of his mane.
Illitashia glanced at her king and smiled as she saw him watching, and then turned back to her daughter. "Come now Lilly!" She teased.
Lilac Wish "Lilly" to some, closed her eyes and appeared to think very hard. "The First Rule of being a Princess is you have to treat EVERYONE nicely..."
"That's my girl." Illitashia beamed.

"Come on, you can make it! I saw a pride of lions just ahead!" A large blue hornbill urged on a small kit. The young purple female lifted her head and gave him a small nod before continuing on her journey. The bird had found her lying on the ground and calling for her mother only to get no reply. She was hungry, tired, and extremely lonley. He couldn't find it in his heart to ignore her pleas.
"I'm scared Star..." She whispered softly, nearly falling on a few roots before the shimmering bird landed on the ground and helped her up with his beak.
He smiled fondly at her and sped back into the air. "I promise! Not to far now! I think I see the leaders of the pride ahead!"
She strained her ears and thought she heard running water and laughter. With more will power she pressed herself onward and pulled herself into view. She gasped slightly catching sight of two massive but kind faced lions. "Is that them, Star?"
He nodded breifly before circling over the Talcorin and Illtashia and then back over Mookie to draw attention to her arrival. The young lion was already shying away, eyes darting back over her shoulder for an escape. "Hello..." Her voice was barely audioble.

Nala had been following the river for some time now, her wings having grown tired after some time so that she now trotted along the riverbed. She liked the surroundings.
It was then that she spotted them. A lioness and her cub. As she looked around for others she spotted the great male. A bird came into view and circled them before bringing attention to another young lioness. Nala pressed her wings close to her body and drew closer.
Was this a pride? Could it be possible she found a place she could call home? She checked hereself, trying to to look or act too eager, as she came up to the adults. She kept cautious, just in case they did not wish to welcome her.
"Ah.....hello there...."

Talcorin rose, shaking the silver dirt from his coat. His keen eyes followed the path of the bird as it circled overhead, and he knew it wanted his attention. Very well, it had his attention. Glancing back to his mate, he noted she gave him a deep nod followed the bird's flight, intent on handling it herself. He laughed and nodded, watching Lilac dog her mother's steps with a cheeful giggle that floated through the air like the water over the river rocks. About to settle down again, he noticed the scent of another lion and stood, trotting over to greet her. She smelled like the wind and clouds, and he knew this was a lioness like he used to be. "Greetings friend, I am Talcorin, King of these Lands.. Can I help you?"
Illitashia halted at the sight of a purple and blue kit and the bird that had led her to it. Her own daughter bumped into her hind legs and then peeked at the newcommer, oddly quiet. Feeling she would startle the young lioness, Illitashia walked forward and then spoke gently. "What is your name child? And where do you come from?" Her kind voice was soothing, and genuinely concerned.

Nala bowed her head to Talcorin, her wings spread and held low so that their tips barely touched the floor.
"Greetings to you and your family, O lord of these lands. I have wandered the pridelands with a singular purpose. The possibility of a home. I have no family of mine own, and seek to find a place to call home amongst others. As I wandered into your lands I have grown fond of them and the serenity I have come to find here. If it is alright with you, sir. I would like to live amongst you and your own here in your lands. I lend you my wings and the strength I will have when I am grown."
She hoped beyond hope that he would let her join.

Talcorin smiled at the enchanting youth and bowed his head to her. "Greetings to you, Wanderer." He said with a smile. "I welcome you into my lands, stay as long as you wish.. And I accept your wings as shelter for others, and your strength as strength for the Pride... I also accept the loyalty of your heart, and return it with my own.. Come, you are part of this family now... I have given up my Wings, but here.. I too can soar." He resisted the faint urge to laugh, but then realised what he said was true. His heart had never felt so light as it did now that he had this home, this family. "Tell me, what is your name? And are you hungary or thirsty?"

She smiled up at him extremely happy. "I am Nala. And not really. I've been able to catch lunch near the river as I wandered." She could barely contain her excitement, when something clicked about what he said. He'd given up his wings? She didn't mention anything in case it was something to go unspoken.
"I hope to help in every way I can." She purred happily.

Talcorin nodded. "Well met Nala, and welcome to Rose Wings.. If you have any questions or requests don't hesitate to ask.. My Queen is just over there greeting a new kit, and her daughters are both around here somewhere..." He smiled. "Our den is in the face of the mountain over there, if you just follow the river to the plateau- its not a very high one- you can jump right up, and you'll see the entrance.. There's also a waterfall up there which we share with the neighboring Pride, Cyan Serenity, so do not be alarmed if you meet some of those lions as well... Alright?"
((I will put a link to Cyan Serenity on the first page so any who wish can quickly access that Pride.. For there will be the occasional crossover from Pride to Pride! ^.^ ))

She nodded happily. "Yes, sir. And, thank you." She purred happily. She wondered a bit on how their neighboring pride was. Giddy with happiness she began to run around while laughing happily. "I'm hoooome!"

"Of course.. And you are very welcome. Enjoy!" He purred back and then returned to his perch, eyeing the lands around him.
Lilac Wish noted the new lion- and her wings- and tumbled across the pride land, following her. Still a kit, she tripped every now and then, but kept a pretty good pace. "Hi!" She called when she felt she was near enough to be heard. "I'm Lilac."
((Hehe... Gonna throw in the Prince and Heir from Cyan, Ferrian...))
The Prince of Cyan Serenity waded along the river's path, staying toward the banks to keep out of the depth, but still in water up to his chest. His green mane turned dark within the water, but the cool rush felt good on his warm brown coat. His brightly colored forepaw brushed a fish and he jumped as it leapt out of the very water, shining a bright blue-green. Laughing he continued on his way, enjoying the peace of the day and the cool water.

At Lilac's call Nala's ears perked up. She'd been in her own little world rolling aroud all happy she'd found a home. She turned to Lilac and walked up to her with a smile. "Hi! I'm Nala. I'm the new girl around here."

Lilac beamed. "I'm Lilac Wish, Princess of Rose Wings.. My elder sister Amirah is around here too.. Welcome to the Pride Nala!" She beamed and gave a happy giggle. "Stick with me and you'll meet everyone! I know most of the lions from Cyan Serenity too... " She gave a little shrug. "They're very nice..."

Mookie lowered her differently colored ears, stepping back. She wasn't so sure about this now. The lionness sounded nice enough but she was still frightened. Catching a wave of encouragement from Starshine she found her voice, " I'm...I'm Mookie... " She paused then glanced over to the hornbill and frowned, "Where do I come from, Star?"
"I found her in a grove of trees. It was quite a ways in so I flew ahead and caught sight of your pride." He spread a mulicolored wing, pointing from the way they'd come. "She was crying for her mother and I couldn't just leave her there. From what the other hornbills tell me she had been crying for a few sunrises." Starshine gave her a fond smile then blinked when he noticed her gaze wandering to another young one and not quite sure what to make of her. "Say what I told you to say." He whispered gently.
Her brown eyes snapped back to the bird before she lowered the front half of her body onto her knees. He gave her a nod of approval and she gulped, "I hob...humble ask to jo-join your pri-pride."
"Humbily! Humbily ask!"

Nala smiled. She liked the younger lioness. "Alright then, I'll stick with you, Lilac. If I'm going to be of any help I'll have to meet everyone and figure out who's who."
She looked over to where Illitashia was speaking with a young cub and bird. "Seems like I'm not the only new one." She tucked in her wings and lowered herself to the floor. "Hop on and I'll carry you over so we can meet them." She winked.
((Kinda funny that Lilac is actually about 12 days older, but I still have to use the term younger. ^.^;;; ))
