Chris sang "Innuendo". "Keep Passing The Open Windows" is on The Works.
Elliot's performance was unbearable. He sounded a bit too country for "Somebody To Love".

^ Ack! n00b moment! stressed Then what the heck was Ryan going on about? Eh... I dunno... Maybe I was getting overly excited at that point. I could have sworn someone was talking about Keep Passing The Open Windows. Looking back now, it didn't match up. xp But that aside! Was I the only one amused by Ace's attempted to have Brian change the arrangement on WWRY? He was like: Hey! Let's do this! And Brian was more like: Eh-- no. stare As for Elliot, I'm on the fence about his performance. He claims never to have heard that song before the band introduced it to him (which is a crime in itself!) but if that's true, then maybe we should give him so slack for only having a week to practice such a tough song. Edit: "We will rock you--- gently." -Simon rofl

Well, when Elliot mentioned his love for Aretha Franklin, which the song was inspired by, you'd figure he'd put two and two together and give it some soul! He didn't.
Taylor taking two attempts to kick the mic stand was humorous, I thought.

I felt bad for him! (Though it was funny. whee ) His mic was sort of squeaky mid-way through... Unless I was just excited again. rofl

I thought the first two contestants did rather poorly (Bucky and Ace, right?) Yeah... It did pick-up though when Kellie sang.
I was very amused when Ace tried to get Brian to change the arrangment of WWRY and Brian kind of laughed a little and said "I couldn't bear to do that to my own song." And then my amusement got the best of me when Taylor tried kicking over the mic stand and attempted to dance... xD
They did rather well, though, I thought they should've sang a bit of the lesser known songs. But... I'm just odd like that.
I think the best performance was Paris, though. She was totally awesome on The Show Must Go On. whee
I must say though, my grandparents (regular watchers of the show) did not like the show at all. xd "This is what you listen to, Torey? stare " I couldn't help but laugh... However, my grandmother liked Who Wants To Live Forever and The Show Must Go On...
My grandfather commented once on how old they looked, so I told them they were in their fifties and my grandmother thought that "old people like that shouldn't be playing anymore." I kind of gave her a blank stare... >>;
I'll stop rambling now. stressed xd

What I didn't like is when one of the judges said something about Queen isn't able to perform "Innuendo" live... but the contestant is. Oh, boo on them! If those damn kids can do it, Queen can. Queen doesn't perform Innuendo live because they do not want to. Otherwise, they would. Then they said, "No one likes that song! That's why it isn't preformed." Well, excuse me. I happen to find that song very lovely.
Then that one judge compared a contestant similar to Freddie. Mistake.

I don't know if I missed it, because it shows quite late D: (maybe a day or two later than you guys over there in US?)
Still, I'm hoping someone *coughMikecough* manages to tape/record the whole thing and upload it XD I want Brian and Rog to be on my TV screen for a change xd

I wanted to yell at Simon for being such an a** and having no clue that maybe they didn't perform it because Freddie died less than a year after it was released! (<-- If memory serves.) Ergh! I think it was Paula who compared someone to Fred-- that was just stupid. No one came close last night, even if there were a few strong acts. But seriously, that was sort of the push off the cliff for me... I mean, I know the judges love their contestants but that was just... bleh... not a good comment to make because everyone who was watching and singing had a pretty good idea that Paula was just saying that. rolleyes

Paula = full of patronizing words. Randy = he sugar coats his words nicely...only if he had a bit more of an idea of what he's saying. Simon = he's the man, brutally honest. Though he could tone it down just a smidge sweatdrop

Results Show:
Um... Yeah... Pretty boring. xd I was under the impression that Rog and Bri would be there so I wandered around the house in excitement and unsettled nerves for about twenty-five minutes before finally switching on the TV. No Queen-- AND we had to suffer through the two worst performances over again: Ace with WWRY and Bucky with Fat Bottomed Girls. Elliot was also in the running for the bottom three but next week he's getting my vote. I've started to take a liking to him. whee Anyways, Bucky went home. Good bye.
So! Next week is Rod Stewart week... Erm... Yeah! rofl There was a brief article recapping the show in the Washington Post this morning with a nice studio shot of the band around '91. (The one where they're all dressed up and Roger's sitting with Brian looming over him and everyone looks all spiffy. 4laugh heart ) I'll scan it in for laughs when my computer gets working properly again. The writer for the American Idol column is so sarcastic. xd Great stuff. Hopefully there will be a follow up article tomorrow for me to read and submit.
All in all, I rather enjoyed this. I got to see my boys on the big screen in my basement in all their glory and that was enough for me. heart

Yeah.. I had to perform tonight for my peers, and a camera... So.. I did some Queen songs that my tribute band did (Back in the day xD!) and got asked for an encore.
I only got to tune in for the part where Bucky got voted off... And I was happy.
But.. It was a good night, so I'm glad I missed the boredom. I got applauded and such for my bass playing skills. Werd. So, I'm very happy! whee

An encore! Way to go Fairy Feller!
And yeah tonight, I was under the impression that Queen was going to perform... that's the only reason I watched. To be honest, I had my doubts... I didn't think they would want to perform for the show. I think they want to run their own show, not play on someone else's.
The one thing I remembered tonight... I think it was in the beginning. The group sang, I believe one of them messed the lyrics up on "Killer Queen". I think they messed up the part that goes, "Ooh, recommended at the price, insatiable an appetite." I don't remember what they said... my ears might have failed me. I need to review it tomorrow or something...

The only performances I liked were Kellie's, Paris', and Taylor's. Everyone else made me want to SPEW COOKIES. (Esp. Elliot and Katherine... what were they thinking.....)
And I agree: Ace trying to get Brian and Rog to change We Will Rock You!? WHAT THE HECK? I was so mad. ;_;
I hate Chris, but I thought he would've been better off doing I'm In Love With My Car... he's got that rough voice like Roger... only Roger's good. xDD
