Em was too busy involved in her book to notice the knocking. And it wasn't until Kameko came to tell her about the strange knocking. Placing the bookmark in the book, she placed the book on the table before scurring to the door.

"Coming!" She yelled, hoping the visitors were still at the door. Opening the large white door, she stared out the clear, glass one only to realize no one was there. However, she could see a fish bowl with a beautifil Koi inside. Attached to the bowl was also a lollypop and fish food. A letter too!

Opening the clear door, she knelt down to pick the things up from the ground. The poor fish must feel quite hot from the weather! A little bit afraid she might drop it, she called for Kameko's help to move the items inside while she closed the doors.

Slowly ripping the back of the envelop she revealed the letter and read it aloud to Kameko and herself. Smiling warmly at the gifts, she most definitely has to thank Crystal for these lovely gifts.

Holding the bowl around her arms, Kameko along with Em headed out to their pond outside to place the fish in. Kneeling before the edge of the pond, she quickly dumped the contents of the bowl into the larger body of water. She watched quietly as the green and red koi swam away from the two Jumi. Em giggled when she saw Kameko's expression. A little confused, she ignored the emerald's outburst and continued to stare at the fish.

5/17/06: Kira has been very busy as of late. Everywhere in the house there are papers and books. Sometimes she runs around yelling about some nonsense. I think her school work is catching up to her. I hope she feels better soon. Yesterday I made a cake hoping she'd feel better, but I still need to buy frosting...I don't have any currency that she has, actually, I don't have any currency at all. What'll I do for the frosting? Maybe melt down some chocolate to make chocolate frosting?

5/17/06: So my caretaker has grown increasingly annoying as of late. She says summer will come soon, meaning she'd be able to spend more time with us. I'm...not looking forward to that. That cake Em baked looks tempting...We also have ice cream in the freezer. Maybe I can sneak some later? I'm pretty hungry. And those weird things she brought home, she promised we'd get a suprise from them soon, but when exactly is "soon"?

6/25/06: It's been a while since I last wrote here. But, it's been quite the surprise too. Randomly, Kira dropped by a cute shop and bought us quite a bit of stuff. She got some pretty lanterns and furins for the both of us to hang in our rooms. And she said that one of these nights we might even have a barbaque party of some sort in celebration of the summer. We put electric lightbulbs into the laterns, since we didn't want fires in the house, but when they're lit...I think they look quite stunning that way.

2/25/06: I must say, for once that human did something right. Those lanterns and furins are quite pretty. They're quite relaxing too, on those stressful evenings when that blasted Buru dances around the house, screaming inaudiable words. Here are pictures of mine, I think they match my core colors pretty well:

With all the laterns and furins set up, Em proudly placed her hands at her hips. Though the colorful paper was only lit up by electric lightbulbs, they still shimmered with brilliance. The short roof of the deck hung with other types of decorations, streamers, colorful beads and other types of light displays. Em worked hard all day to bring this all together, she was in charge of outdoor preperations while the human was in charge of all the food and drinks.

A small smile crept upon her face as she stared in awe, even though she took hours to put this all together, she still couldn't quite believe that her hands did all this. It was almost like some mystical light festival, all the lights were different colors, more colors than on any Christmas tree. She giggled in amusement at the thought of her lights beating a Christmas tree. But she did have to admit that it looked quite wonderful. It felt good to know her efforts bared fruit.

Of course, she didn't do everything by herself, there was no possible way she could've. She had help from Kyou, despite his constant objections. Not only him, but other members of the household too. Even though Buru was small, he did whatever he could to help his Jumi friend. The avian .exe, Cubi helped to reach tall places where even a ladder couldn't reach, and all the while Em was amused by Hikaru's sarcastic remarks at Cubi's "special" personality. All of them would get to take part in this, even if they didn't help the Jumi girl out, it was a special occation after all.

All day she was stuck running errands around the house. The human promised they would be short runs, though they turned out to be something different later on. First it was an errand to run to the store and buy some ice, then it was fridge packs of pop and juice. Of course, she had to gather them all on foot, at first she contemplated riding a bike there, but then she realized the bike would make the returning trip much more difficult and long.

She didn't expect anything, of course, she never really cared what Em did around the house, she had no interest in such things. Her life was her life, Em's life was Em's life. Besides, Em was always busy reading some novel by the windows, or on the porch outside, sometimes even under trees. Kameko tried reading once....she fell asleep before even finishing the first chapter. Aside from that, all the preperations was done in the backyard, and the kitchen, two places she hardly ever went to. She always ate in her room, away from the others even if she was always insisted to stay with them and eat together; like a family should. The Jumi didn't like the large crowd of people, even if it was only a handful and two of them[the .exe's] never ate.

Sighing, she ignored the food lying about on the kitchen counter and table, expecting it to be tonight's dinner. She wandered to the white fridge, opening its door and practically shoving the bothersome beverages into the cold storage. With that, she dragged her heavy feet back to her room, plopping herself face down on the comfortable mattress.

She loved her room, it was practically sound-proof. It allowed the Jumi to be in her solitude, drifting away into the peaceful nothingness. Her dull eyes stared up at the ceiling and for a while she zoned away from this world. But as she stared closer, something felt amiss. She couldn't quite place a finger on it, something was just...different.

"I know what..." She answered herself. Nothing, there was nothing in her room. All the colorful lanterns the human bought for her were gone. The little hooks in the ceiling that allowed them to hang were still there, but the colors weren't. So here's the big question, where were they?

She rolled around on her bed for a while, pondering where all her lanterns and furins disappeared to. Certainly they wouldn't have just taken them from her when she just recently recieved them. They weren't that type of people, they weren't that cruel to her. The Jumi curled up against herself, slipping her left arm under the pillow as memories of the past flooded into her mind. If she could cry, she would. Her dull eyes closed, the aching feeling in her throat agitating her eyes more. But the Jumi lost their tears long ago, except for that Crystal Jumi...she was different, somehow. But how?

Shaking off her thoughts, she remained curled up on the soft mattress for a moment longer. Don't be so weak... she mentally scolded herself. Kameko uncurled her thin frame, slowly rising up to a sitting position. She hugged her legs for a few more minutes while staring out the window. It was already starting to grow dark, all those errand runs must've taken up a lot more time than she considered.

Freeing herself from the misery temporarily, the girl slowly placed both feet on the ground, raising up from her bed. She shuffled her feet across the soft rug towards the door, forcing a smile on her face she went out into the deserted household. It was too quiet in the household, even the ever energetic Buru wasn't dancing around as usual. What was going on?

Dragging herself down the narrow hallway, she lightly knocked on the door to Em's room, expecting an answer. After a few more knocks, when no one answered she asked, "Em? Are you in there? I'm coming in..." Twisting the door handle, she peeked her head through the narrow opening, eyes darting around the room in search of the Emerald Jumi. Nothing. How strange.

A grin widened her face, "Ok, everyone. I think it's about time we hide now. Everyone to their assigned places!" With that, the few members of the house scattered to their assigned places prior to Kameko's final return from the store. The Jumi giggled lightly to herself as she hid on the side of the porch. "Kameko is never going to see this coming," she whispered to herself.

"Is anyone here?" The girl asked with slight concern in her voice. Her hands gripped tightly onto one another as her heart beat raced. There was no one in sight, no one. She felt so...lonely, like that time in that damp cave. Only this time, it felt more like an abbandonment, just where was everyone?

Pacing about, she ran to Em's usual reading spot, the bay window with the bean bag chair. The chair had the imprint of someone or something that sat on it before, but there was only an imprint, nothing more. Her pinkish eyes carried a worried look in them, she felt like a lost child in a giant mall seperated from her mother's grasp. She couldn't help it, but her usually expressionless face turned into a frown, and her lips quivered slightly at the thought of abbandonment again. No...

Dashing towards the porch, she thought she heard noises. Flicking on the light switch, nothing happened. No lights turned on. They couldn't have possibily all burned out, could they? Unlocking the porch door, she made her way out into the darkness. Though there were picnic tables full of food sitting atop, she was to submerged in her thoughts to notice.

"Em? Emmm?" She called out worriedly.

As soon as she confirmed that it was indeed Kameko, her delicate hands reached for the extention cord and plugged it in. When the current ran through, everything was revealed. The furins shimmered in the colorful light from the lanterns and other lights. A gentle breeze casted over the porch, making the furins dance. Their noise was gentle and soothing to her ears. Though she couldn't see Kameko's reaction yet, she had no time. She leapt out with the rest of the group, including the human, yelling out cheerfully, "Suprise!"

She couldn't see Kameko's worried expression from before, as it changed too quickly into confusion and shock. Pacing herself over to her friend, she was careful to avoid any tables or chairs around the area. Em reached into her pocket, pulling out three pins. Picking up the red color gemed one, she smiled as she pinned it to Kameko's shirt.

"Happy birthday, dear friend~" She said throwing her arms around the girl for a big hug, "I know it's not a real ruby or gem for that matter, but I was reminded of you when I saw this in the store. I just had to get it for you. Did we suprise you?" She giggled.

Her expression remained shocked until Em threw her arms around her. Shaking out of her daze, she turned to return the friendly hug. She grew even more speechless at the girl's present. Sure, it was only a toy anyone could get their hands on, but it meant so much more to her. Going along with Em really was a wise decision, she noted.

"T--Thank you..." the girl stuttered, "But it's not my birthday today..."

She released the hug from her friend, smiling brightly, "I know it's probably not your birthday today. But we decided that today would be your new birthday, one that you'll celebrate with us from now on. I hope you don't mind. You don't? Good." She laughed heartfully to herself. With that she skittered over to the human, presenting her with the blue colored pin.

"This is my thanks to you for everything you've done for me--us so far. Especially with this suprise birthday party for Kameko. Thank you, truly." She smiled as she pinned the last one on herself.

"Now we're like sisteren!" She giggled. "Anyway, what're you all just standing around here for? Let's party~!"

8/20/06: We threw a big birthday party for Kameko earlier. It was really fun to set it up, and even more fun to see Kameko's reaction to our party for her. I gave her a Ruby jewel as a present, and a Sapphire one for Kira...though she gave it back and insisted I give it to someone else instead. Maybe a third Jumi with a blue core? Heehee. Probably not, but I think it'd be nice to have a kid Jumi around here to liven things up a little, especially for Kameko.

Anyway, Kira said that maybe sometime later when she's not as busy she'll take us to Etansel to visit everyone again. I'm so excited! She said the chance of visiting the beach will come sometime soon too. I can't wait!

8/20/06: That...party they threw for me was...actually really nice of them. At first I freaked out since I didn't see any of them around the house, but then when I went out onto the porch was I in the suprise of my life. It was really sweet of them. Heh.

The present Em gave me was really nice. I sometimes wear it when no one is at home, or when no one is watching. It matches nicely, sometimes. But the best present of all is her friendship and my family...

How cheesey.

After returning with a half full box of cupcakes from the Etansel visit, Em was quite chipper to have made new friends and met up with older ones. Despite the fact that fellow Jumi she grew up with wasn't there, her heart felt better after that short visit with that large family. With a re-newed attitude, she began grabbing some things her family trip to the beach.

This was the first time she went to the beach, and was quite an exciting time for her. Perhaps almost as exciting as choosing of a Knight ceremony, if that's what they called it [not that any of the knew/remembered]. She began throwing some things into the small duffle bag beside her legs. Sunblock, sunglasses, a hat, swim suit, a fan, etc.

With all the items she thought were necessary in the bag, she zipped up the duffle bag and slung it over her shoulder while trying to weave her way through the rowdy and busy hallway. Even the .exes who hate the beach [being machines and all] were busy packing for the trip while bickering at each other. She quietly giggled to herself at the thought that even the most stubborn of her family was excited for the trip. Then again, it was something they all really looked forward to.

Kameko was quite mellow about this whole trip. Like most things, she didn't seem to care much about it. But like most everyone else in the household, she was packing her things for the beach trip. Just the basic essentials, sunblock, sunglasses, a towel, a hat...though she debated throwing in her swimsuit in there too. She wasn't embarassed to swim in front of her so-called "family"...but...something about the open public beach made her weary.

She tucked it underneathe all her other junk, just in case. Though, the Jumi really had no intention of swimming. In fact, all she really wanted to do was stay home within her own cubicle. This place was safe, this place was predictable, this place was home.

Whilest everyone stood by the door with their belongings, Kira stood there too with hers. A giant umbrella, and a plastic bag full of assorted things such as food. "Is everyone ready?" Without even needing a response, she knew their patience was paying off. A loud cheer roared throughout the front porch, she smiled at the seemingly happy group and lead the way on foot towards the beach.

[Haha, I should go to bed. I finish tomorrow.]

Arriving at their destination, the group already worked up a sweat [or at least those that could sweat]. Kira plopped down all the belongings she carried with her, holding up the giant umbrella to stick in the sand. Opening it up, she wiped the small trail of sweat on her forehead then turned to face her family.

"Alrighty, we're here! It's all fun and games, but I don't want anyone to get hurt or lost. In case of an emergency, always come back to tell me...unless someone is drowning, then go call a lifeguard," she nodded before continuing, "When going swimming, despite the fact that all of you are old enough, I still want a buddy system. Don't want any of ya' getting swept up by the tide and carried out to sea. And if you're hungry and whatnot, just come back to this umbrella and I'll feed ya'," she winked with a smile on her face before watching the group scatter.

The young Jumi dashed for the closest changing room with her swimsuit. She was going to swim first, and hopefully someone was willing to go with her.

Slipping into her swimsuit, she saw the slightly indimidated Kameko. Taking in a breath, she paced over to her friend's side, grabbing her hand and shoving her into the changing room. A little impatient, Em tapped her foot to signal the Pad. Jumi to change.

After a few minutes, the Pad. Jumi came out in her swimsuit, and without even time for a breath, was dragged off towards the cool waters. The two sat by the ocean, but never really touched it, Em was too busy trying to make sand hills with her hands. She encouraged Kameko to join in the fun, but her friend merely sat there baking in the sun.

Pouting slightly to her dismay, the emerald Jumi went on making her sand hills by the sea.

The Pad. Jumi wasn't all that excited for the trip unlike the rest of her "family". After being dragged out to bake in the sun for a while, she merely crawled back to where Kira sat, under the shade. Watching them from afar, she couldn't figure out their sudden excitment, their anticipation, their joy.

This was but a simple place, a place with lots of sand and water. Anyone could make such a place. She couldn't figure out why they were so excited for this place. For the rest of the time, she rested her head on her knees, continuing a forlorn gaze in Em's general direction.

--[Whee, they spent the whole day at the beach, and now the sun is setting ]--

After gathering their belongings and wiping off most of the sand on their bodies, Kira and her family gathered up near the closed umbrella to make ready their trip home. For a short while, they all gazed at the beautiful sunset unlike any other. The colors were more vibrant, and more abundant too. Like a giant flame in the sky, the sun glowed with a bright orange, seemingly running into the ocean itself.

As everyone turned their gaze away from the sun, they followed Kira who held the things quite akwardly. For a while, Kameko stood there in silence, gazing at the ocean. She seemed to be waiting for something, but what?

She felt her arm tugged slightly, and the owner of that tugging arm carried a worried smile on her face. As if ignoring the emerald Jumi, she continued standing there gazing into the distance. Nothing. Another tug of the arm, still nothing.

At the moment before she turned around to head back torwards home, a giant curved shape creature broke out of the now warm waters, with a squeal it splashed back into the ocean.

This was the moment that made the whole trip worthwhile, a little secret that no one else but she saw. A small smile crept onto her face, her head down as she walked. Maybe this trip wasn't so bad after all?

9/19/06: Fall is already upon us, can you believe it? The weather is already growing colder than usual, and the trees are changing colors too. They haven't fallen yet, so there's no need to sweep the yard as of right now. But it just means that winter is coming soon, isn't that exciting? It's going to be the second winter I spend with Kameko, and about the third[?] that I spend with Kira and the others within the family. I look foward to drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace while reading a goodbook. And who could forget that warm blanket on your lap while you're reading?

Though with the change of seasons, it seems quite a few people are sick. Kira is sick, with a small cold. But she sniffles a lot and blows her nose often. Her voice has gotten better from yesterday. It was all hoarse, and she really sounded like she was sick. I hope she feels better soon.

9/19/06: So Autum is upon us. I find Autum boring, really. Winter at least snows. Autum is cold and rainy often. And because it's all cold, with the season change Kira caught a cold. It's not too bad, but when she blows her nose it's kind of disgusting. I hope she gets well soon enough, for everyone's sake along with hers.

It's been relatively quiet within the household. Nothing exciting went on, and as the seasons pass, everyone tries their best to stay indoors more often due to the cold weather outside. Em has caught up in her reading, and for once, didn't wish to sit near a bay window for an afternoon read. Instead, she sat herself down in the kitchen, nibbling away at a tastey PB&J sandwich she made herself.

While holding the delicate sandwich in her soft hands, her curious emerald eyes rolled about the kitchen, as if searching for something. She could tell something was different, but she couldn't quite place a finger on it.

Upon noticing the oddly colored egg with spots, she immediately knew what was wrong. The brightly orange-colored vegitable was gone. Kira specifically told all the residents not to eat it, or else dire consequences would befall them. Em knew none of the residents would dare defy Kira in fear of her wrath.

Immediately taking larger bites from her sandwich, she finished it as fast as possible, gulping down the rest of her water. For now, the household was safe, Kira was out shopping for some groceries with the help of Kyou and the two .exe's, thusly the only residents within the household currently were Buru, Kameko and herself. Surely the other three wouldn't do something so careless as to steal it before leaving with her guardian to go shopping. Besides, Kyou was the only one of the three who wore clothing, the two .exe's most likely didn't care enough for the carrot either way. The human male was certainly a suspect because of his thievery skills, though he swore those behind long ago since he joined the household. Not to mention, his favorite food was cookies or anything remotely sweet, vegitables were on the bottom of his list for stealing. And he would fear Kira's wrath more so than anyone else, most likely because she would rip on him more so than anyone else if he did anything bad. Her excuse was "for discipline".

That wasn't important though, what was, was that the carrot was missing. Hastily pushing herself off from the chair, the Jumi placed her dirty dishes in the dish washer before yelling out, "Buru~ Buru! Buru, where are you?"

Hearing his master's frantic call, the Jinn spirit immeditely dropped his current project and rushed to her aid. Usually Em wasn't one to yell, and if she did, usually it was something important and most urgent.

Rushing out of the young Jumi's room, the familiar flew to her side, raising a hand to his head, giving her a salute. "Yes ma'm!" was written all over his face. His eyes full of worry, wondering what was Em's sense of urgency.

When Buru showed up at her side, Em gave a sigh of relief. At least her familiar still had a sense of loyalty towards her. "Buru," she asked softly, "do you know what happened to the carrot Kira-san bought us a while ago? The one she told everyone not to touch and/or eat?" the question was filled with worry.

Giving a shake of his head, he frowned slightly. So the carrot was missing? He felt Em's sense of urgency was unnecessary over a simple carrot, even if the mistress of the household demanded no one touch it. Still, he knew his Jumi companion didn't worry over nothing, and his sense of duty towards her told him he must help her. Thusly, he stayed by her side, searching for said carrot.

Biting her lower lip softly, she rose her right arm and placed it over her left. This was obviously of great concern to her.

"Do you know if Kameko is in the household?"

Again, a shake of the head. Though this time he indicated that she wasn't in the household. Lifting a finger, he pointed outside in the direction of the man made pond within their backyard. He recalled earlier this morning that his companion's Jumi friend went outdoors and hasn't returned since then.

Floating over the glass door, he pointed at the door handle, asking Em to open it for him. His tiny hands would not suffice for such a door, and his lack of strength to pull too didn't help.

Giving a small nod, the emerald Jumi headed over to where Buru was. Placing her hands on the door, she pulled it back with seemingly no effort at all. The soft, warm breeze filled the house immediately, brushing against her facial features. Hanging in the sky, small fluffs of white clouds floated about, while the sun beamed its radiant light upon the warm land. Every now and then, a cool breeze would make the trees and grass wave to the sky. This was certainly a nice day, and certainly a nice day for any outdoor activity. She couldn't help but wonder why Kameko would be outside, however, that girl didn't enjoy the outdoors much, and she prefered to keep to herself in her room.

Allowing the beautiful moment to pass by, the two stepped out onto the grass lands. Her naked feet touching the soft grass, tickling her soles lightly. With a giggle, she pulled back stray locks of hair behind her ear, enjoying this moment as best she could.

When the moment was done and over with, the young girl peered about, her eyes searching for any signs of Kameko. And indeed, she was there, however, something else was there. A small yellow colored...rabite? She didn't recall anyone getting a rabite, and they certainly weren't sold in pet stores around here.

Raising a brow in curiosity, she turned to Buru who only answered with a shrug of his shoulders. Trodding over towards her fellow Jumi, she knelt beside her observing the interaction between the two. Kameko was...smiling, smiling over the simple rabite pouncing about in the grass lands, occationally nibbling on the grass or flowers. Such simplicity brought a smile on the girl's face. The rabite broke into Kameko, allowing the girl to open up more. Of course, Em and the rest of her family was a large part in helping too, but the rabite was...new, and it took no effort to get a smile on the knight's face. This was news, she'd have to tell the rest of her family, she thought with a smile.

As the rest of her family arrived, they slowly packed away the groceries in the appropriate places without knowing the events that went on. When they had finished, they noticed a rather happy Em running back into the house, yelling, "Everyone~! Come outside and see! Look what Kameko found!" She beamed with excitment.

One by one, each of them headed out slowly, each of them unknowing of what's to come...except Kira who had a grin on her face. When the group gathered around, Kameko seemed to finally notice and got on up from her toosh. A flush of embarassment rushed to her cheeks, turning them a rosey red. No one minded, in fact they were all happy she showed signs of life for once. They were always worried about her cooped up in her room, but now that she was outside of her own free will, smiling and showing signs of embarassment, there was nothing more they could ask for.

"Kameko, honey, no need to be embarassed," Kira smiled gently, "It's okay to smile if you're happy, to cry when you're sad. We're very glad that you're feeling alive, we've all been worried about you since all you do is sit in your room," the mistress added softly, "and the reason I got the carrot was because I hoped it would help you. I know rabites aren't sold here, but when I went to Etansel, Rena-san and Crystal-chan let me have some pets exclusive to Fae'del such as this rabite pouncing around here," she ended with a small chuckle.

"This rabite...it looks pretty tastey," Hi grinned maliciously, "I wonder what it'll taste like." The energetic .exe chased after the helpless thing, probably scaring it half to death as she intended.

Flying after the malicious .exe, Cubi yelled, "Don't eaaattt iiiittt! You don't eat anyway!"

"Shut up, stupid," she paused her chasing only to yell that at her fellow .exe, "Who cares what I eat or don't eat. I want to chase it and scare it!" With that, she continued.

The family giggled at one another, taking their spots on the grass next to one another while watching the bickering .exe go back and forth. All the while, they enjoyed one another's company, and most importantly, Kameko's smile.

12/01/06: The first day of December! How exciting. A lot has happened in the past months. Our little Rabite has settled in just fine, he's very skittish around new people, though. He's very cute and loves attention. He likes to take naps around someone, it doesn't matter who. It seems he has taken a liking to Kyou the most. It's sort of funny to watch Kyou groan when the little thing hops up on his lap and sleeps.

On another note, during Halloween something suprising came to us! A zombie rabite. How odd. He tries to eat our other rabite, but now he knows better. On occation, he does still try to scare the other rabite.

Here's a picture of him:

Also, Christmas is just around the corner! I have so much shopping to do. I have so many gifts I want to give to all my Jumi friends. I wish I had more money so I can.

Something very upsetting has happened in Etansel. We were visiting when we saw a distressed Rena-san sitting by the entrance. When we followed her, we discovered that Crystal-san is in...well...stone. She's going through the trials to become a guardian to someone, but who? Rena-san was very upset over this, and many of us are, too. I hope we can help Crystal-san become herself again. With that, Kameko has been trying her hardest to remember all the details of the trial. I hope everything gets back to normal soon...
