"Thirst," She asked making sure that's what had been said, "Yeah no kidding. I bet you are thirsty..." She turned back around to where she had been sitting, watching as one of the Cabana boys began to wipe down the table. Well maybe she could spare a few moments and help this poor girl out. It's not like she had anything else to do. Well, nothing of any relevence anyway.
"C'mon," she said offhandly, waving for Taluthe to follow her, "I'll buy ya a few drinks.."

She nodded in response, keeping otherwise silent. Her nod seemed to hold much confidence in what was being said, though she wasn't really sure what this strange girl would do with her. She had no concept of embarassment, and thus was unsure if the other was thinking of her as an outsider or one of her own. Either way, she was a beautiful young lady who happened to land at her feet (almost literally) and needed a little help.
She cocked her head to the side slightly, then followed. Buying a few drinks sounded... as an odd way of putting getting a drink, but she wasn't about to complain, and followed complacently after the mysterious figure, studying her curvatures with keen yet subtle, distracted interest.

Maryke sighed heavily and let out a small "okay then" as she headed back towards the small islandy stand, casting an awkward yet interested glance towards Taluthe every so often. Finally she made it towards the cabana boy she had been waited on by earlire and tossed her hair back letting out another mangaled sigh.
"Two smoothies," she ordered, not bothering with the pleasantries. "Both Mango....and hurry up will you?"
With that being said the older woman slid back into her seat and set her purse down, waving for Taluthe to join her.

"Does she have ID?" The cabana boy asked hesitantly as Maryke made the order, "She doesn't look old eno..."
"Do you wanna get paid?" The madam asked with a low glare. Without another glance or glare back the man nodded his head and went off towards the bar.
Maryke turned back towards Taluthe, watching her carefully as the girl looked around in amazement? Well she wasnt sure what that expression was only that it intruiged the older woman. "So...." Maryke said bristling slightly as she tried to fish for what to say.

Once the older woman spoke again, Talu's interest was once again completely focussed on her. She studied her with a blank look, but it held the hint of a smile. In fact, she was very much enjoying this time away from home. Maybe she could spend longer than expected out and about? The world seemed a lot more exciting that she had ever hoped, with all these tall reflective things and rolling contraptions and trapped fireflies. Or, at least that's what she thought they were. Maybe Maryke could help her understand what was really going on around her.
"Who was that boy?" She asked, watching him as he hurried off to the bar. She didn't understand the concept of a bar, or getting paid, but she acted very much like she could comprehend anyway. She wanted to add on more about the woman's appearance, but something stopped her. She bit her lip and frowned slightly. On the island, she had never had a problem giving compliments. It was simply part of culture there. However, she stumbled over her words and felt as if her tongue were in a knot now with Maryke sitting there. Hmmm. Oh, well.

"What boy?" Maryke asked, looking around in confusion. "Oh," she said suddenly realizing the poor girl was merely talking about the drink boy. "Him," she said with a wave of her hand, "He works her. Name's Jimmy or some crap like that. I don't really know...he.." she looked back over to Taluthe and noticed her oncoming confusion. "He's nobody..." she said quickly as she sat back and waited for their drinks.

".... Crap? What is this crap?" She asked, rather loudly for the fact that it was not a very nice word. However, she was ignorant to the fact that it was not a good word; it was foreign to her as was this entire culture. "Oh... Nobody.... That sounds sad." She instantly seemed to melt into a depression. She didn't really know what a nobody or a crap was, but it all sounded not very pleasing, especially considering Maryke's tone of voice.

Maryke couldn't help but burst out laughing at Taluthe's words. She didn't know which was worse, the fact that this girl had obviously been so sheltered or the fact that Maryke got such a big kick out of it. "No it's not..." she then sighed deeply, furrowing her eyebrows as she tried to think of the best way to explain her words. "It's complicated," she said finally having noting better to say.
She looked over and breathed easier seeing the cabana boy return with their drinks.

She frowned, watching Maryke's reaction. Was she being rash or silly? She didn't really know. The strange nobody boy came back and she cocked her head to the side. She opened her mouth to speak, but something stopped her. Probably not a good idea to ask the poor boy what it meant to be a nobody. It might hurt his feelings. Kind of Like Maryke's laughing. She drooped a bit, pouting as he set her drink in front of her. She studied it carefully, sniffed it, then looked up at Maryke. She didn't really understand the paper umbrella or the glass, but the fruit that was at the top holding the umbrella looked tasty. She watched the other, waiting to see what she did with the extravagant show.

Maryke watched her newfound interest a few beats as she wondered what Taluthe was going to do. Seeing the young stranded girl do nothing at all, Maryke sighed and picked up her own smoothie.
"The umbrella is just for show," she said taking it out and tossing it to the side, "The fruit is for the taste aaaaaaaaaand," she took a gulp and sighed pleasantly as the alcohol hit her chest, "the rest if for my nerves.."

Maryke let out another series of chuckles as she looked at Taluthe and found her rather....cute. Well, who was she to complain about that little factor. Couldn't beat that feeling, so why try. She grinned widely and handed the girl a napkin. "You're not supposed to chuck it goof," she teased playfully, "You'll be getting tipsy in no time if you do that...and we can't be having that.."

She took the napkin, studying it through one slightly watery eye. Ouch. Whatever was in that burned all the way down. She wiped at her face, thinking that was the correct usage for the small, soft paper. Then she glanced up at Maryke over the drink curiously. Such strange language... but she was picking it up abnormally quickly. "Tipsy? For why is tipsy bad? What is tipsy?"

Maryke smiled warm;y, enjoying this far more then the magazine she had been reading earlier. "Tipsy...you know," she leaned back in her chair and made her best 'drunk' pose, "Drunk of your a** is what it is." She added taking a few more gulps of her own drink without a hitch.
