PhantomoftheFox
Geek Love... "A wild, often horrifying, novel about freaks, geeks and other aberrancies of the human condition who travel together (a whole family of them) as a circus. It's a solipsistic funhouse world that makes "normal" people seem bland and pitiful. Arturo the Aqua-Boy, who has flippers and an enormous need to be loved. A museum of sacred monsters that didn't make it. An endearing "little beetle" of a heroine. Sort of like Tod Browning's Freaks crossed with David Lynch and John Irving and perhaps George Eliot -- the latter for the power of the emotions evoked."
David Lynch...David Lynch...why does that name sound so familliar?
He was that guy who made Eraserhead, wasn't he? *Blinkblink* *Backs away*
...Most. Disturbing. Movie. EVER.
Elanchana
Yeah, I've read Abarat.
Ithni asme ata Ithni manamee Drutha lotacata Come thou glyph to me (Is that spelled right??)
Hrm. I think so. I'm a bigger fan of the second book. Got it signed, in fact.
It's really freaky.
Really freaky. See, I created this character, back when I was twelve. And for the first year, he was pretty much the same. Later on, he evolved into a very different character who I still use. Thing is, in the second book, the character Letheo is almost
exactly like the character I had first created when I was twelve. Not just in personality, but in the change he goes through. Reading that, I was like:
gonk Whee! *Bounceboncebounce*
heart Letheo.
