Quote:
Flickering antennae wriggled about wildly, aided by the strong winds blowing through the often quiet valley. The foal's bloodred eyes were closed as he attempted to block out the taunts and jests, hurdled down upon him by his fellow foals. Struggling to keep his regal head up high, he walked through their ranks. A particullarly bold young filly, black of coat and sapphire of eye, reached out and nipped his rump. The colt ignored the nips on his flanks, tried to forget about the slight stumbling falls he took caused by both his closed eyes and the physical annoyances the other foals provided.

His mother had often told him to be strong, that his effeminite attributes were nothing to be ashamed of. He was blue, was he not? Had he not regal black and red wings? Male colors adorning a slighlty female body. The fact that his young body had not yet gained the rugged muscles of a Stallion did not help his case. The golden beads about his neck were a gift, one he wore proud as day's sweet sun... in the privacy of his own little cave.

"You're weak! You are no man! You aren't even as big as me, and i'm a girl!" a shrill bout of laughter followed the taunt. A bright yellow female pranced about in front of him, trying to get him to loose focus. He never took his eyes off the sweeping, gracefull, beckoning gestures of the wind rustling through the low-hanging branches of a regal willow tree.

Words came to his lips, delivered in a voice both musical and strong. It was surely the voice of a dancer, perhaps a male actor... one that would break many hearts later in life. Perhaps even that of one of his tormentors.

"Perhaps you should try to find your amusement in another source, not one's pain." He approached the tree and a soft light filled his eyes. He loved nature. "Perhaps you should look to your own shortcomings before you label anothers." His eyes flickered to the chipped hooves of the yellow female, to the ratty mane and the markings which seemed to almost wash off in the rain. Clearly, he was the one who was special here.

He laughed.

I won another roleplay contest! (Tagged foal coming soon)

This one, however, was not free. The foal cost 7k. 3nodding

Quote:
Roleplay Response:

A sniff brought even more of the horrid scent to his nostrils. If there were any underlying currents of oats, they were wiped out by the slightly eggy smell. His neck arched further in an attempt to look more impressive... his tiny legs wobbled ever so slightly, each uneven footing sending him slightly closer to falling flat on his face.

He had always been the more adventerous one, the one to run headlong into a situation and not think about the consiquences until after he had gotten a scolding... or a beating... or a stern glare which would have him slinking around for the next week or so. Doubtless, the next time something interesting showed up he would charge straight forwards with his head held high.

... Which was what he was doing at the moment.

The purple and aqua hues of his mane and tail cast a colorfull glow on the cave walls, stoney outcrops and crevaces otherwise void of any form of light. Had he payed more attention to the fleeting shadows and rustles which came not of his own form and clapping hooves, he would have noticed a pair of golden eyes staring out at him from the darker regions of the cave. Sither may have cast it a fleeting glance, though his brain (so used to watching his own golden eyes staring back at him from a lake or a fresh drop of dew on a bright summer morning) probably cast it away as one of those many tidbits of information that are not worthy of remembering.

Rustle rustle. Screeeetch. Flap flap flap.

Sither ducked, eyes widening, as a horde of bats flew out of the cave. He waited until they had passed, crouching low to the cave floor, before continuing on in his pursuit of Sugar.

Trotting for the time he had been would normally have brought him to something more interesting than bats (now that the bats had gone, he could speak cleverly of them without fear of being bitten... Sither had not yet learned of a little something called Fruit Bats) or the slate-gray color of the stone.

A slightly fuzzy outline of a large outcrop caught his attention. There were eight long stoney formations hanging from it, though thye ended in tips so smooth it would be almost unbelievable that they were naturally occuring. Sither approached with his neck arched proudly, head held high, tail erect, most like he would if he was about to come upon a particularly striking filly. The glow of his mane and tail allowed him to see a fine layer of hairs on the stone, something he at first took for moss... until they began to twitch and move.

"Sugar?"

He squeaked it, showing none of the cultured and smooth voice he was sure to gain in the years to come.

The eight legs twitched in response, lowering by means of a silken thread that seemed to cast a little light all its own on the rocky walls.

Waiting on a breeding from Kaz (but she's really busy I think so it may not happen for a while) so breeding requests are closed for the moment.
