Ananse did notice at least two of his companions' shapes fade from view as they came to a stop. Frowning, more in confusion than anger, his stride faltered and he was distracted momentarily from the other shapes. He did not want to lose them and moved back toward Makali and Hiro. "Are we stopping, then?" Would they even understand his words in this fog, or would his voice be garbled in the looming quiet?

A) Move quickly through the mist, hoping to reach the other side.
Kanuni was about to respond to the last lion who appeared before she arrived, but before she could, a thick fog rolled in. She also noticed the silence that seemed to have arrived before the mist. No creatures were stirring, except their small group. Now she could barely see who was nearby. As she turned her head, other shapes appeared in the fog where the group had not been standing. The fur on her neck stood up as a low growl escaped. A larger shape appeared to move suddenly out of the corner of her eye to her right and she took off in that direction. Remaining alert, she hoped to find the source of the movement.

A) Move quickly through the mist, hoping to reach the other side. 15/15 Confidence Points
Chayse was watching as the rest of the lions arrived and was wondering if anyone was going to assume the leader of this group when the fog started rolling in. She panicked slightly as it creeped towards her paws, lifting one into the air to keep from touching it. She quickly realized how silly that was because it was just fog and it wouldn't matter if she raised her paw or not, it would still touch her. They were all soon enveloped in the mist and she lost sight of those around her. She wanted to call out to them, but she'd already forgotten their names. She squeaked with a slight hesitation before following behind what she hoped was one of the other lions as they made their way through the mist.

After a few moments of chase, the fog did not seem to end and the shape Kanuni thought she was chasing appeared to have gone, though other shapes moved in and out of the dense mist. She slowed down to a walk and realized the sound of quickly moving footsteps could be heard from behind. Quickly turning and baring her claws as she stood her ground, her hackles raised, a snarl across her face, and a growl began in her throat as she prepared for whatever was coming.

B) Stay still and wait for it to clear. 15/15 Confidence Points
Nyama had nodded to each lion as they introduced themselves, and to the others. He wished he had more time to speak to them, to ask them if they were sent here by a pride, or merely their own curiosity. Instead, when the time came to move on, he found him following along with only a grunt of agreement. Surely the time for talk would come later.
As he followed the group, staying as middle of the pack as he could, he observed the heavy mist taking residence around him. He observed the group he was apart of, with some calling out to the shapes and others moving ahead beyond it. Given that he was sent to observe, he stilled his paws and did just that. He did not speak to the beings through the haze, but he did not want to appear as though he was running through the weather, either. Better to wait it out, and it seemed that there were many among the group that shared this sentiment, if not exactly, than enough to stay their paws a while longer.

SCENARIO 1 RESULTS: Quote: If you chose A: You move quickly through the mist, hoping to reach the other side but stumble and lose your footing. The world around you is constantly shifting, the strange formations more distorted and wild. Limping along, you grow increasingly confused, turning in circles until the mist finally clears enough to reveal your companions. You lose 2 CP. Quote: If you chose B: You stay still and wait for it to clear. The world around you is hazy and muted, sounds somehow muffled. But you wait patiently, either by yourself or with one of your companions. Slowly the mist clears, blown away though you feel no wind. No CP lost. Quote: If you chose C: You call out to the shapes in the mist. Your voice sounds hollow, swallowed by the drifting blanket of grey. Nobody answers but a strange lion-like form seems to shape ahead of you. A chill runs down your spine. It lingers a moment, almost as if watching you and then it melts away, melting away with the rest of the fog. You lose 1 CP. Stand by for next prompt!

SCENARIO TWO - THE BONE CIRCLE
As the mist clears, the group reconvenes; with some a bit more spooked than others. But after some discussion, everyone forges onward. The journey through these unsettling lands continues, through a thicket of twisted trees whose branches seem to snag at your fur. Then the trees part to reveal a clearing, it takes a moment to even realize what you’re looking at but finally it makes sense - hundreds of animal bones lie arranged in perfect concentric circles. At the center, a lion cub’s skull stares from hollowed eyes, almost accusingly. What do you do? Quote: A) Touch or disrupt some of the bones closest to the edge. B) Try to bury the skull. C) Back away and refuse to have anything to do with it. Please make your choice clear in bold at the top of your post and update your confidence points! You have 24 hours. Feel free to continue RPing after your selection. In regards to giving extra RP time, I've decided that this time around, I'll keep it as originally planned. In order to give a fair amount of in-between rp time, a full 24hours to account for timezones, it would stretch the game out longer than originally advertised. However, if this is a hit and people enjoy it, I'll give more time for RP'ing in future! <3 Thank you!

C) Back away and refuse to have anything to do with it. Confidence Points 15/15
Nyama felt reassured when the mist dissipated without any case for concern. He waited for the others to regroup, noting those who had chosen to run on ahead and glancing at them with something like concern. The reality of it was that he was thinking of twisted paws and frantic hearts - a scared lion didn't make for easy prey, but an injured lion certainly did. Maybe some of his companions would make for easy meals for the Night Master and Mistress.
As they came upon the bones, he surveyed them without any sense of dread or foreboding. He took a step back and looked to the others. He would take on the observer's route yet again. He would not entangle himself with the unusual bones or whatever ritual was occurring here, but he would be pleased in watching someone else interact with them.

A) Touch or disrupt some of the bones closest to the edge. CP: 15/15
Makali watched the fog clear, though she felt no wind, still she figured there had to be just enough there to cause the fog to dissipate. As she waited for the others to regain their confidence and decide to press on, she began to pad forward on her own. She figured other's would catch up.
The pile of bones they stumbled upon was interesting, however. As she was already wearing fangs of other animals, this didn't bother her at all. In fact, she was almost wondering who would waste such good bones. She pawed at a couple before eyeing the cub skull. A snort left her. Poor thing. Let down by parents and lack of strength. A pity.
Was that a slight curl of a smirk tugging at her muzzle?

Hiro chooses option C. (Back away and refuse to have anything to do with it.). Confidence points: 14/15
As the mist cleared, Hiro found himself pressing forward. Through the thicket of trees, he found himself snarling as he felt a tug every now and then from the strange trees. Finally, he came upon the strange site.
Hiro knows...it's best to leave the dead alone. He didn't want to disturb the horrible scene taking place here, but he would try and find the culprit of this devastation. Something sadistic was ahead, if it had time to arrange the bones of animals in this way.

A) Touch or disrupt some of the bones closest to the edge. CP: 13/15
Kanuni is prepared for something to come at her, but she decides it might be better to meet her attacker. Running at the sound she heard, she trips on a rock and tumbles to the ground. As she stands up, she realizes that her front, left paw is smarting. Hoping it's only a temporary pain, she gently walks around to see the full extent. Nothing major, but she now favors the paw.
The mist appears to be thinner now and within moments, she sees the fog has dissipated. Turning her head and seeing the light of the moon, she moves towards the clearing. Trying not to look as if injured, at least to her prideful mind, she realized there were bones on the ground and arranged in a way that looked ritualistic. No stranger to this type of remains, she plodded back to the others. Not realizing how close she was to one of the bone circles, she stepped the wrong way and smarted her sore paw. This led to her moving a few of the bones in that circle. Unconcerned about the bones, she continued moving back to the group. Wondering what the design could be for, she spoke, "What made these patterns? Someone likes to play with the dead.' She tried making light of the situation, hoping her injured pride would heal enough to keep from making any more foolish mistakes that night.

A: Touch or disrupt some of the bones closest to the edgeCP: 13/15She skittered to the side as a lioness suddenly appeared in front of her, snarling at her with claws raised. She gulped and quickly steered away from the sharp claws. "Sorry!" she called over her shoulder as she kept moving. As she turned her head back to look ahead, she stumbled, tripping over what she could only guess was a rock. Her paw bent in a painful way, and she gasped in pain. She was now limping to keep the weight of her body off the injured paw, but wasn't about to stay still. It was a few moments that the mist finally cleared and she was able to see some of the other lions around her. She thought she recognized the lioness who had swiped at her. She wouldn't hold it against her though; it was a pretty spooky situation. As the mist cleared, she noticed that the group had moved into a new area with thick twisted trees that seemed to be reaching out to grab them and scratch at their bodies. She followed behind, still a slight limp to her gait but keeping up with the group. After a moment, the dense trees seemed to open to a clearing where there were bones everywhere. She blinked to make sure she was seeing things clearly and realized the bones were arranged into shapes. These had to have been deliberately positioned, but by who? And why? "What is going on here?" she whispered to no one in particular. She moved forward just a few steps, touching her injured paw to one of the circles of bones on the edge of clearing.

SCENARIO 2 RESULTS: Quote: If you chose A: You decide to mess with the bones close to the edge of the circle. At first nothing happens, and then suddenly a cold shiver runs down your spine and your vision goes black for a brief second, leaving you dizzy. The bone you moved looks startlingly out of place, disrupting the once perfect pattern. You get the feeling you shouldn't have touched anything. You lose 3 CP. Quote: If you chose B: You decide to try to bury the cub’s skull, stepping carefully over the other bones to reach the center. You start digging a hole (with any other companion that chose this option). As you do, it feels as though the cub skull is staring at you no matter which way you turn. When you finish the hole, you nudge the skull in and cover it up. You think you hear a small whisper, a soft ‘thank you’ on the wind. No CP lost. Quote: If you chose C: Either unsettled by the strange sight or just smart enough not to want to touch anything, you back away. A tree branch you don’t remember being so close snags at your skin and fur, leaving a light scratch that itches as you sidestep away. The feeling doesn't fade for a long time. You lose 1 CP. Melomar Ananse, unfortunately, never made it to the bone circle with the others. He found himself lost during his time in the mist and had to backtrack until he found their pawprints and the right path. He'll meet up with them at the next scenario but as he passes by the bone circle on his own, the skull leers at him, as if invisible eyes are following his movements. You lose 5 CP. Please adjust your points accordingly! Stand by for next prompt!

SCENARIO THREE - THE OLD BURROW
Leaving the bone circle behind, the group continues on through the trees. Talk, if there is any, is muted and quiet, spoken in whispers. The red moon doesn’t cast much light here, as it moves ominously across the sky. It isn’t long before a scent reaches the nose of the explorers, an old lion scent. They follow it, hoping it will lead them to some answers. It leads them to a massive tree and an old burrow nestled in the roots. It’s not big enough for a lion to fit but it’s definitely where the smell is coming from. What do you do? Quote: A) Reach inside and see if there’s anything in there. B) Block the entrance with dirt. C) Circle around the tree, searching for more burrows or signs. Please make your choice clear in bold at the top of your post and update your confidence points! You have 24 hours. Feel free to continue RPing after your selection.

A) Reach inside and see if there’s anything in there. Confidence Points: 14/15
Nyama had been injured, just barely, for stepping away to observe. It wasn't enough to send him running home, but it was plenty to make him doubt his purpose as an observer. Maybe that's why when they got to the tree, he approached the tree head on.
"Pardon me," He murmured, as though the tree, or whatever lion scent may've lingered, could hear him. He bent down to the burrow and not immediately seeing anything within, mustered the bravery needed for a rash action. He stuck in his paw, trying to figure out if he could feel anything within that was worth while or would lead him closer to solving this mystery.
