Surprised, a muffled yelp slipped from Cassidy before he could stifle it. It hadn’t hurt, but he had been surprised–and pleased–at Riker’s boldness. The pressure of Riker’s weight was not unwelcome and even if it had been, he didn’t want to discourage Riker from doing this again.
He kissed greedily, like he needed to cram in as many as he could now before they had to behave. Sure, he could sneak in handholding, or cuddling, or whatever other physical contact he wanted. Those things were subtle–or, at least, acceptable.
This? This was great.
But this was just for them.
There was a tickle in the back of his throat, like he wanted to laugh. It wasn’t just that Riker seemed to meet his enthusiasm kiss for kiss, it was more than just making out.
It was nice to feel whole.
Sure, his arm was a little sore but that probably had more to do with how tightly he’d been clinging to Riker than the car accident.
He liked when he could just be normal and not have to think about any of those extra things.
Riker probably did, too.

It was cute that Cassidy seemed so pleased by something so simple. He could feel the smile against his lips, and he couldn’t help but smile in return. Even if it made kissing a little more difficult.
This was all still so new to him. Although he realized it was probably new to Cassidy, too. Cassidy was just much more confident in what he wanted, while Riker was still just struggling along.
This was nice, though. More than nice. He felt warm and dazed and like he should be doing more. Like more than just putting his hand back on Cassidy’s thigh, or sinking his fingers into Cassidy’s hair as it fanned out against the pillows.
He should have known it was too good to last. Probably for the best. Because he was starting to forget why he’d been hesitant in the first place.
Riker didn’t exactly jump at the noise, but he immediately pushed himself up as his head snapped towards the door. Oh… his ears were already so red.

Cassidy heard a noise. It just wasn’t enough to make him want to stop. When Riker pulled away, he made a disgruntled noise and raised his head as if to try and recapture his lips.
Riker was too far away.
Julian was in the doorway and had already turned away from them, so Cassidy immediately understood what had drawn Riker’s attention.
With a dejected sigh, Cassidy flopped back onto the mattress. His lips pressed together into a pout, but if Riker were any closer he could have turned that into a few more kisses.
“I’m sorry,” Julian said quickly. “I just remembered, I forgot–um–something downstairs. Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt! I’ll, um–Oh, I’ll be back in a few minutes! I’ll go–um, well I’ll go find it.”
He hadn’t been quick enough to escape without being noticed but he could still make a quick getaway. It was fine if they were kissing! He hadn’t even thought about knocking. But they were both very invested and it didn’t seem fair to interrupt them. Julian half-heartedly waved, not because his heart wasn’t in it but because he was trying to un-interrupt them, so he rushed back downstairs, as if by going fast enough he could rewind time and let them have an extra moment together.

Riker winced, his face surely bright red as he tried to climb off of Cassidy without hurting him. He wanted to call after Julian to tell him he was sorry for basically taking over the room, but Julian had already run off.
So instead, Riker flopped backwards onto the bed. Mostly perpendicular to Cassidy, so he couldn’t just roll over and kiss him again. No! That would be bad! Well, not bad, but he didn’t want Julian to have to see them making out like that again.
“Sorry,” he mumbled, both hands on his face to scrub the red away. It was probably for the best. He needed to cool down before Zac walked in. Or Evan came up to give them the Talk.

Cassidy’s face was screwed into a pout as Riker moved off of him, but as soon as Riker had flopped back down and started scrubbing his face, Cassidy pushed Riker’s hands away. “Stop doing that, you’ll give yourself acne,” he said. He took Riker’s nearest hand and laced fingers with him, pulling it back down next to Cassidys’ side.
“It’s fine, you don’t have to be sorry. Rain check,” he shrugged. “If you feel bad, you can pay me back double.”
He squeezed Riker’s hand but rolled his head to look at him. “...You okay? Want me to go apologize to Julian for seducing you?”

Riker let out a bark of a laugh, even as his face burned. He squeezed Cassidy’s hand and then pushed himself up onto his elbows to scowl at him. There was no heat behind it.
“You seducing me? Please…” Although he seemed to pause as he tried working out in his head that he was automatically countering Cassidy about. Clearly without really thinking about it. He huffed and wiggled around so he was back against Cassidy’s side, and leaned over to press a kiss against his cheek -- then really pushed himself up to climb out of bed.
“I’m okay. I can talk to Jules. Maybe next time we should lock the door,” he shrugged awkwardly.
He collected one of his socks he’d left laying on the ground, but paused and glanced back over to Cassidy.
“I liked that. So, uh… yeah, we should figure out when I can pay you back double.”
He was tired of hiding. He’d spent most of his life denying himself everything. Either intentionally or because he didn’t know any better. He didn’t want to hide parts of himself that made him feel good. Maybe he would be more open about liking to kiss Cassidy…
Soon… he didn’t know if he was brave enough just yet, but he wanted to be.
