Avari felt the grip come in towards his head, and knew this was a bad moment. He attempted to slip out from under it and roll away, breaking the situation.
However, he didn't know if Drako would be hot on his tail.

Drako feels that frantic scramble to get away and smirks at Avari, not feeling the need to burn through anymore energy chasing him just yet. he steps back to the center of the ring and gestures at the champion to come at him

Avari noticed that Drako hadn't chased him, and felt a bit of ease in that moment. He backed towards the turnbuckle and took a knee, before slowly getting to his feet.
Fusion pumped his fist in the air and then beat his chest twice, getting the crowd to roar on!
They cheered and screamed, knowing that they were seeing history.. Invigorated, Fusion stepped forward with confidence, reaching out to offer a tie-up.

Drako goes right into this next tie up. He has a few options here, so he goes for the arm, attempting to grab the left arm and twist it behind Avari in a standing hammerlock

"Okay, we're getting technical now..", Avari murmured to himself under his breath.
He knew that Drako would slow the match down and use his technical prowess to grind him down over time. He had to work out a way to get out of this.
The hammerlock was in place and there wasn't much that Avari could do. He attempted to press back, even with the pain, and get Drako towards one of the turnbuckles.

Drako does like to get technical and force his opponents to work their way out of his holds. One can't be his size without learning how to chop opponents down and wear them out to get the win. So he's making the champ work to get free, applying just enough resistance and tweaking the arm until finally, he's pressed against the turnbuckle. The ref demands a break
one...

Avari feels the hold released, and knows that he got out of the quicker than expected, which was a good thing. This was already an even matchup, and one that he had been savouring for a while.
He moved swiftly into the center of the ring, giving Drako space and time to reset, and spun on his heel to await the next transition.

Nothing wrong with a little reset here and there in a match as big as this. This is the last match to take place under the WWFG banner for the World title. Fans should expect a long night.
Drako steps out of the corner again and watches the champion, perhaps debating on his next play

Avari turned to the fans and gave them a nod for their cheers and encouragement. It was emotional for everyone, but they were really giving their all for each superstar who had stepped into the squared circle tonight.
As Drako watches, Fusion lowers his body a little and beckons him forward, asking for a tie-up.

Drako steps forward again into another tie up. This time, Drako looks to assert his own strength, aiming to press Avari back to the ropes this time

The strength and versatility of Drako was something to behold, a true legend in his own right. Avari felt himself pressed backwards, one step.. two..
He tried to plant his heels down hard, but was slowly but surely pressed up into the ropes.

upon realizing they've reached the ropes, Drako looks to back off....well, slightly, as he attempts to catch Avari's arm and irish whip him across the ring

Fusion was sent hurtling across the ring at some pace. He hit the far ropes hard, turning and coming back with pace at Drako...

Drako feels like it's time to pick up the pace a little bit here and as Avari rebounds back looks to lift him up and over with a back body drop. A little old school action for the new school kid
