Gargantuan puffy squirmed a lot, which he thought he could handle, until she climbed him like a tree. For as much as he tried to stay silent, those sharp claws hooking into his skin earned a few grunts and suppressed yelps. But she found her way up to his shoulder, which he thought was a success? Maybe?
Though, as he looked at his arms and saw the blood beading up, it was a dubious win at best. Then it was made worse for how she started tenderizing his shoulder with her paws, once again earning a few silent ows while she did whatever she had to do. Did that count as concentrating? Did cats do that? Did they need to inflict pain in order to think clearly? It sounded appropriate to the hellacious creatures.
Not a senshi meant certainly not part of Hybris's court and not eligible to join it. While he didn't know what else he could be that entailed something magical, he understood with grim acuity that the nonmagical alternative was psychosis. And as they took these measures to narrow his options, to clarify what he was, psychosis became the more likely conclusion.
He lost his memory because he was ******** crazy and dreamt all this s**t up — from Malory to the magic to the talking cats. All of it some caricature rendered by a sickened mind.
Maybe Hybris was dreadfully right. hope flagging, he squatted down to let the Heaviest Murder Machine light on the ground of her own accord. She seemed quick to excuse herself, too. This ******** sucks, he signed to the boy.

Gratifying as it was to watch Eles be gently mauled and punished by the dignified lady in their midst, Hybris found himself a little disappointed that he wasn’t some brand of unawakened or chaos senshi. And a little relieved as well. Selfish as always, he didn’t want Eles to have a simple resolution. Even stranger, there was a certain reluctance at the idea of giving him over to the Mirror.
Which wasn’t worth thinking about any further. After all, it wasn’t even an option now.
“Well, you’ve still helped us eliminate some possibilities and narrow the search,” Hybris answered. “Eles says thank you for helping us, and thank you from myself as well.”
He crouched down beside the two and offered a little half bow to Desiree, “It’s been an honor to meet you, miss.”

Being a little gentler, she felt like the news wasn’t taken well by the boy she was perched on. Once she was close enough to the ground, she hopped down and circled their feet. Letting out a loud purr as she did to try and soothe their worries.
“You may look into the Negaverse, they may know more.” It would be the best thing to look into next considering the records but this wasn’t something to carelessly get involved in. It didn’t sit well with her for someone to be lost either though. If it had been a sideswap, one way or another, she knew what effect it had on memory. It hadn’t been too bad with Ako, at least from how things seemed to be going, but her newest project would have more complications potentially.
With another, lighter, thump against Eles’s legs she nodded to Hybris.
“If you need any help in the future, feel free to reach out to Melpomene if you need me. I may not be able to help with memories, but I can work with electronics if you need any help on that front or with things related to the mirror.” The more she might find out, the better, especially if she could get a crystal from them to add to Aloysius’s collection.
Looking back up at Eles, she did hope they would make it through whatever was going on. “I wish you the best of luck Eles, if you need help as well you can have him reach out to me just the same. Just… please warn me if you try to pick me up again. Melpomene is much better at it, I’m far too old to be handled that way.”

Eles was busy admiring (or lamenting) the damage from those claws that spoiled his arms with streaks of red. She hadn't apologized for it, but Eles supposed he would respect her less if she did. He wouldn't much like getting picked up against his will, either, so someone who did the same to him would likely receive a bloody nose for their troubles. It was only fair to get revenge. He still didn't regret violating her feline autonomy, though.
That's s**t news, Eles signed to Hybris. Narrowed it down to the worst options. Knight. White Moon senshi. Negaverse agent. Lunatic.
He wished he could have been a cat, but cat wasn't looking like an option, either. With an air of wistfulness, he bid his goodbyes to Desiree with a wave. I'll be better about it next time, he signed to her, even if she didn't understand it.
At least they got a contact from it. A talking superpuff who could handle technology and mirrors, evidently, and Eles had half a mind to ask her to see to all the mirrors in Hybris's house. Many of them, Eles thought, needed to be rehomed. Or knocked on the floor, as was the feline way.
With their goodbyes said, Eles started off in front of the boy. Hybris couldn't read the disappointment writ plain on his face if Eles stayed ahead of him, after all.
