Azzo rolled his shoulders, he avoided mentioning what parts of those were when he was a civilian "It was . . . something." He said not sure what else to say about it.
There was a brow loft when she said if there was anything she could do to help, he nodded softly, "Sometimes all someone needs is a listener." He said after a few moments.
He chuckled, "Yeah that was indiscriminate and something like I haven't faced before, thinking about all the things that've happened in the time I've been a knight." He paused when they mentioned a nega hit them with a briefcase, "I guess they were a lieutenant because they don't have that useful of a weapon."
He nodded, "Yeah we managed pretty well considering, apparently the area we were in had some crazy buffs thanks to the chibis and Snowball. Granted Snowball hauled a crazy amount of scales home. I didn't know the cat carried a bunch of bags of holding."
There was a pause when she lit up about the restoration of his wonder. His head tilted before taking a final sip of his cappuccino. Listening to her talk about life being on her homeworld and the plants looked much more vibrant and colorful. He hadn't noticed there being any life on his wonder and now was curious if he'd over looked something. "I'll never say no to an extra pair of hands." He said still mulling over the information, "You say you have life on your homeworld? That's interesting, I wonder if I've actually got life on mine and just missed it."

For whatever exactly had happened to Azzo to still have so much power, to bear down so forcefully upon his mind, it definitely had to be “something” as he put it. The thought of living with that was frightening. Terrifying. She was glad that he’d been able to get through it, even with the scars, and hoped that the worst of it was behind him. A future for his wonder was something he could look forward to and as much as she knew that couldn’t undo the past, new hope was a powerful thing. Knowing that a group of chibis and someone she could only assume was a Mauvian (though she couldn’t entirely discount the possibility of a human named Snowball) had done so much to keep each other safe against a monster like Harold filled her with hope of her own. She still despised knowing that there were children involved in this, but at least they managed to protect themselves when it counted most. “That’s good to hear, that whole thing was… a mess. To say the least.” She grimaced slightly at the memory. “I do, well the planet does. Have life I mean. The first time I went there it was…sad, but every time I’ve gone back I’ve seen more. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there was at least something at your wonder that stayed out of sight before. I found the tiniest…well…they aren’t quite bees but they’re like bees, a few weeks ago. I’d be happy to help you find it.”

Azzo looked at her, holding the empty cup in both hands under his chin. "Get use to things being a mess. Most things it seems like start out chaotic and crazy, and usually end up fine when we all pull together."
There was a pause, "It's difficult to get so many together without having differences of opinions and disorganized chaos. But when it counts, everyone'll come through. It's why you got to find the people you work well with and form groups that'll help support each other and grow no matter the shape or size of them."
To say he wasn't thrilled kids were in the fight was an understatement but they needed to know how to work and save themselves. He'd grown to understand that and be willing to help them grow. If they were going to be here, they needed to know how to protect themselves.
He nodded softly, "That's good to know, mine is pretty dark and dreary much like an Edger Allen Poe story or some other gothic horror novel. I wouldn't be surprised if ravens talked there and say never more. Though I've yet to see a living creature since I've been going."
He paused when she offered to help and gave a nod, "I'll send you a letter when I get ready to go up next, you'll get to meet Snowball too. As he usually tags along for tech support. Maybe we can find something and I can figure out where to start on reconstruction. I've mainly been dusting and sweeping some of the lesser damaged areas."
He slowly stood up, "For tonight though, do you want to go on patrol or retire and rest up?"
He was now thinking about his wonder and what all he needed, perhaps making sure to have a few insect cages so he could study what they find wouldn't be a bad idea either. So sitting still here in the cafe was starting to make him antsy and he wanted to move. He thought better sometimes when in motion.

Rowan smiled at Azzo’s reassurances, grateful to hear an experienced voice on the matter. Frankly, she would have been far more surprised to learn that their chaotic situation was abnormal. It would be refreshing to find a group of like-minded people, though she still wasn’t entirely certain how to go about it. Maybe she could send out some messages, contact some of the others she’d met at Celadon’s gathering. The darkness he described in his wonder didn’t dampen her interest in helping out there. It seemed likely that the shadows made any life that was there easier to hard, some of her camping lanterns might be helpful there regardless. “It sounds fascinating. If I can help, I’d love to, however I can.” The fact that she’d get to meet another Mauvian was definitely a bonus in and of itself. “I’ve been cleaning on Tempesti and I think it’s been helping, so your dusting and sweeping might have left your wonder better off than you realize.” She rolled her shoulders and stood, grabbing her cup to bring to the bin. “I think I’m going to patrol for a bit longer, just in case.” She didn’t want to admit that continuing her patrol was more appealing than going home and being alone with her thoughts.

Azzo gave a half shrug as she called it fascinating, so far he'd found some interesting looking things but there were a lot of gaps so calling it fascinating might've been a bit of a stretch to him. At least for now...
He tilted his head a bit when she said dusting and sweeping do more than he could've realized. "Oh, interesting. I guess at least cleaning does something then." He said wondering what was actually there right now.
There was a pause and he nodded, "I'll join you for a bit then, doubt the cat'll come looking for me for another few hours. Maybe we can figure out what I need to grab for a trip up to hunt for critters." They could at least spend some time plotting what was needed for the visit and see if there was anything interesting going on tonight. He held the door for Rowan allowing her to go out before he exited.
At least it wouldn't be dull tonight.
