"I know I know, its just once a mother bear always a mother bear and you have seen how it has affecting my sister, she is afraid of her own shadow compared to me, she is good and gentle and I am not."
She was likely over tired and not running on all sails yet again. Being a mom was a workout in itself even it seemed when you were not doing anything overly strenuous. Her head cocked as one of the children squawked in her sleep.
"I guess we did good with Vhallas. I know the cabin is always available and that we are safe here on the ranch with Daddy and the others." No one would take on that whole mess without much more serious reasons than getting back at her. She had returned to protecting the fishing fleet for a few years, even while Theriar had taken some time off to be with Onora and their two newish babies. They had had them a few years apart and Kechiri couldn't help but wonder if Theriar and Roalvar were not related distantly with the similarities in their crystals and the similiarities of what the pollen had done. It was about time the old man had kids.

"We did excellent with Vhallas, there is no use worrying until there is actually a problem going on. Relax my love, let the tea kick in let the views call to your soul but remember that I of all am your anchor. I will always be here for you, because without you there is no more me." He held her hand and looked in her eyes. It was a spectacular bond that they shared, made so long ago as a deal, it had turned into true love immediately. Finally there had been someone out there who had wanted him for him. Not for shallow reasons.
As unconventional as she was that really did work for him. He knew she was strong and powerful and deadly and not about to put up with much at all. If a threat did stir, she him and the whole family would squash it like a small fat, slow bug, so there really was nothing to worry about, or at least so he told himself. Parents tended to worry no matter what but the important thing was to calm her down so she could sleep later. She would need it. The twins fed often during the night.

He was right of course which was no less infuriating for being the truth. Usually she was the right one. She snorted and they both burst out laughing which did in fact wake their babies up. Kechiri went and changed diapers and brought the newly rebundled babbins back for them to enjoy. They never got tired of just looking at them. She and he also loved with the little ones grabbed their fingers, it was hard to describe but being held by a tiny tiney hand was just utterly magical.
"What wonders your young eyes will see, over the horizon a hundred miles from me." She started a lullaby that her mother had sung to her to help her sleep at night. She knew that her mother had lost her parents but that hadn't affected how excellent of a parent Saeruin was. Kechiri loved her mother, though she seldom admited it as for some reason they butted heads more often then not. But as usual her Mom always came through for her. Sae had dropped off banana bread which got them through until supper time. Sae and Grandma Nin conspired to make the best banana bread all the time.

A crow called during a roll of thunder and the rain fell harder than ever. "They are even more beautiful than the storm our children are, more beautiful than the forest and more beautiful than the sea." He looked upon them with paternal eyes, rosey glasses and all. He adored them, adored her..adored his life now. No longer alone and it would be quite some time before these little chicks dared to leave the nest and fly far far away, if they ever did. Some kids actually liked staying close to home. Though there were ramblers and rangers in this family galore. The ranch was still the very heart of the family and an appropriate place for the kids to be born.
They had not made it out as often to the cabin. It was just too convenient to be here and so close to grandparents and support, not to mention the market. Two babies meant twice as much stuff,. Small as they were they wouldn't be so for very long. He couldn't wait.

She held his hand as they each held a baby. They often traded off part way through so that each baby got equal parent time. An important balancing act when you had twins. She wondered how sensitive these two would be with each other. It was far too early to tell personality beyond giggly and gassy.
Once her worry had eased more she was able to really just enjoy the moment. It must have been mommy brain blowing everything out of proportion again.
"Come my small darlings, time for bed again." She fed them and put them to sleep. Then she and Raolvar watched the storm until it ran out sometime in the early morning. Grandma was coming the next day to babysit so they could afford to stay up a bit longer and have time for each other. She loved every single moment of her life now, memories of adventure and moment after moment of pure love and tenderness. She had created what she had always wanted. A proper family, with his help.
