“Ooof.” Eresin joked before shaking his head. He understood his nephew meant well and even he knew that there were certain areas that Kian prevailed in. Not that I can’t beat him in other ways. Eresin reassured himself. He’d like to see the other mystic make some of the more delicate creations that he could with magic and the like! “I can try to talk with him, but I have the feeling that your chances are best at the sanctuary. You’ll be home for a bit this year, no?”

“Yeah.” Azreal nodded. “That’s the plan, but I would like to use the grounds here instead of risking Aunt Talisia’s wrath.” As long as they didn’t destroy one of the fences again and stayed near the backwoods…well, perhaps that would be okay then. “Will you both be in the area through the winter this time?”

“That’s the hope.” Eresin replied as he finished his cup of tea. “Else I might not be allowed back if I keep staying away for so long.” He chuckled at the thought. It would be nice to be home for more than a few weeks, that much was for sure. Tally really might kick me out at this rate. He thought with both amusement and actual fear. Here was hoping that would never happen, truly!

“Good.” Azreal nodded. “I’ll do my best to make it home in a few weeks.” He could try to linger for a bit before classes resumed, especially if his uncle and father would be home for some training and study sessions. He wanted to work his hardest to stay at the top of the class, after all, and it was very beneficial to learn from both of the seasoned mages who offered different skills. “I suppose for now then I should leave you to discuss things with Aspen. I’ll be in the library afterwards if you wish to walk the grounds with me and talk further.” He didn’t want to be in the way when the professor greeted his uncle, so it was probably for the best to catch up more with him later.

“If you’re certain.” Eresin pursed his lips before simply nodding. It probably was for the best since he had a lot to discuss with Aspen, and he knew that there would be some questions that he couldn’t pose with Azreal present. Not that he wanted to hide anything from his nephew, but it would be a bit awkward to talk about his progress in front of him. “I suppose I’ll stay the night here before flying home so we can spend more time talking.” As much as he really wanted to rush to the sanctuary even Eresin knew to respect the dangers that the snow covered mountains could pose at night. Rest for now and then run home to Tally in the morning. He told himself before standing so that he could walk Azreal to the hallway before waiting around again for the others to join him.
