Onora looked up at him, the way the sunlight danced in his hair, how the wind carried his words like a vow across the waves. Her heart ached with the tenderness of it. She had never known this kind of safety before—being held not just in someone’s arms, but in their future, in their promises. Her fingers tightened around his.
“You always know the right things to say,” she murmured, trying not to cry, but the warmth behind her eyes betrayed her. “I think… maybe I’ve always been waiting to not be alone too.”
She took a breath, the scent of salt and him grounding her. “Whether there’s a little one or not, I know there’s love. That’s already more than enough.” She pressed his palm to her stomach again, leaning her head against his chest. “But just so you know, if I throw up even once, I’m blaming you completely.” She grinned against him, voice teasing through the emotion. “You and your fishy charms.”

He wrapped his arms around her and giggled at her threat. "No problem, me and my fishy charms will take the hest." He bend to rest his head atop hers and they swayyed there for a little while standing knee deep in the warm water. he wasn't sure he had had a more intimate tender moment in his entire life.
He didnt want it to end but eventually they would have to return home. For now though the sun shone and time seemed to stand still for him. He could smell her shampoo, the scent that was uniquely her and the fishy scent of briney air and he felt with his whole being yhat this right here right now was where he was supposed to be. Fate had led him a merry chase for so many years and all along all he had wanted was a family and he had that in her. Children would be a bonus but he was whole now. Perfect.
"Are your feet getting cold?" He didnt want to freeze her out especially if she was feeling off.

Onora nestled closer into his chest, her fingers tracing light circles along his back as they rocked gently with the tide. His warmth, his steady breath, the low thrum of his voice—she could have stayed like that forever. “Mmm, no… not cold,” she said softly, voice muffled slightly against him. “Just… soaking it in. All of this.”
She tilted her head to look up at him, her eyes bright with emotion, her lips curved in a soft, knowing smile. “I never thought I’d get to feel something like this, Theriar. Peaceful. Wanted. Safe.” Her hand drifted to her stomach again, a quiet gesture she didn’t even realize she’d made. “I don’t know what’s next… but if it’s with you, then I’m not afraid of it.”
Her smile turned mischievous. “Although you do owe me a foot massage when we get home. Y’know… just in case this guppy of yours is already making demands.”

Theriar 10 "Me either, but now that I have I can't imagine a world without this in it." He was glad she wasn't cold. It was nice to just be and relax and think of possibilities and the future. "We get to be brave together." He hadn't gone through anything like this before, but he knew so many people who had. "A foot massage I can promise.. and that is our guppy my love, I couldn't do it without you." He rubbed big circles on her back, soothing, slow and warm. He adored that they were calling it a guppy. Maybe someday soon it would be the size of a menk and then a trout..if there was indeed a little minnow in there. "How is your tummy doing?" An upset stomach was never a good time and he owed this upset tummy the clue to what mysteries might be held in their future. He was sure she would go to the healer soon if the clues kept nudging her and only that way would they know for sure if they were expecting a little guppy or not.

Onora let her eyes flutter closed as he drew those slow, comforting circles on her back, the motion sinking into her bones like sunlight through seawater. She felt weightless in his arms, buoyed by the rhythm of his voice, the lapping of the tide, the steady beat of his heart.
“Still a little unsettled,” she admitted, resting her head beneath his chin, “but I don’t mind it so much now. If it’s telling me something… I think I’m ready to listen.” Her fingers tightened just slightly around his waist, grounding herself in the moment. “We’ll go to the healer soon, I promise. I just… wanted to keep it ours for a little while longer.”
She looked up at him again, her expression soft and earnest. “Just me, you, and our maybe-guppy.” Her smile was quiet and radiant. “No matter what happens next, I think this will always be one of my favorite days.”
