Tavi leaned into Illapha's embrace, but tutted and raised a finger to Illy's lips to shut him up, flashing him a look. "Okay, real question here. Do you really wanna know where I'm staying? It'd make things easier, yeah, but d'you think they care enough about all this to beat you up for information?"

Did they…? Well. A hybrid kid like this could probably get a pretty penny on the black market, and Indra would know exactly where to sell it. … But it wasn't just that, not like Illy had expected before. Indra was angry. She held her crew under tight control, and Tavihe managing to slip through her fingers was an insult. Who knew how personal things could get, if Indra didn't find something else to get fixated on anytime soon?
He was silent for a long moment, then sighed, closing his eyes in resignation. "… No. It's probably… safer to not know." He wouldn't ever betray them, not on purpose. But he was young, and he was tough but no one enjoyed pain, and he didn't know how far he could go until he broke under pressure. Assuming Indra was angry enough, and convinced enough that he was keeping information from her, to apply it.
"But you're ok? You're safe? You - you have friends?"

Right. It was disappointing, but not surprising. "Friends? I dunno. But I trust they're good people." That would have to be enough for now. Tavihe spent a good while curled up in Illapha's arms, soaking up the safety and love as much as they could, like a starving plant. "You could still stay." Tavihe finally whispered, lips trembling with quiet mourning.

Oh Tavihe… Illapha sighed and carefully pulled Tavi to lay down next to him, holding them close to him, warm and safe at least for the night. "I'll hurry as best I can." He promised, even though he knew there wasn't anything he could really do to hurry the timeline for mutiny along.
"They'll lose interest eventually. And until then - I'll have money sent here for you both, and let you know where I'll be waiting so we can meet as often as possible. I love you." It was the first time he'd said it, and he dropped it in almost casually.

Tavihe sagged in defeat, but nodded morosely. They'd known he wouldn't change his mind, but still - still. They sighed, but curled into his heat, resting their head against his heart, arm curved against their pregnant belly protectively. The plan sounded good, a promise of support - but they froze at the last words.
It felt so silly, to go through all this and have never said it or even thought the words before. … But taking them in, Tavihe chuckled and rolled their eyes, because -yeah - would they go through all this for just anyone? "I love you, you dummy. You're a pain, you know that right?"
