Archie felt his nails dig into his palm slightly when a man came out to greet him. He was very aware of who this likely was, and the thought of it made his heart beat a little faster; he wasn’t quite sure why. “Thank you, Sir,” he said in the strongest voice he could muster. There was no reason for him to be intimidated. He seemed nice enough. Archie then heard a familiar voice calling through the shop. He immediately broke into a smile. After a moment, Tempy appeared and, without hesitation, greeted him with a hug. At least one of them was capable of initiating a hug and not being a huge, awkward dork.
“Hi Tempy,” he beamed. When her father spoke up again, Archie instinctively straightened his spine. It seemed he’d heard of him. He sounded fairly pleasant when he spoke, so hopefully that meant Tempy had only told him good things about him. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sir.” Before either of them could say anything else, Tempy took Archie’s hand and whisked them away to the backroom. “Your father seems nice,” was all he could manage for a moment. He glanced around the room, spotting her typewriter. He was going to ask her about it. He loved it when she talked about things she was excited about, but he knew if he didn’t get the question out soon, he was gonna chicken out. He’d come back to her activities in a moment.
He glanced around to make sure her father wasn’t nearby. Obviously, he wasn’t telling her something super secret or anything, and no doubt her dad would find out about it soon enough, but he figured it would be nicer if it was clearly just the two of them. After he was sure, he leaned forward slightly.
“So, I have a proposition for you,” he said with almost a bit of mischief in his voice. “In Spring, Hogwarts is having a ball and I’ve found out that we are allowed to bring guests from outside of Hogwarts if we’d like. So, I was just wondering if you’d like to come with me. It’d give you a chance to finally see the castle, and knowing our Head Students, it’s going to be pretty spectacular.” He hoped she’d say yes. He couldn’t imagine her saying no, but maybe that was just presumptuous on his part. He took a deep breath and smiled expectantly.

Now that they were relatively alone in the back of the shop, Temp peeked to make sure her father wasn't following them to snoop or anything, but he remained firmly at the front of the shop. Good, he wasn't gonna be snoopy. Tempy grinned when Archie said that her father seemed nice, then nodded. "Yeah, he's alright," she said with a grin. He was great when he wasn't forcing her to go outside and do things, though to be fair, it was because of him forcing her to go outside and make friends that she'd met Archie. Caramel eyes watched Archie as looked a little shifty, glancing around at who knew what. Then he leaned in closer and at first, Tempy thought he was going in for a kiss. Were they even dating? He'd invited her to Hogsmeade and they'd spent the whole day together, but was that a date? Her heart started to beat a little faster and she felt butterflies in her tummy. A blush colored her cheeks and she leaned in a little too, her eyes closing a bit.
Then he said he had a proposition for her and her eyes opened again, the color draining from her face. Oh... he didn't want to kiss? She listened to his proposition and her eyes went wide. He was inviting her to a dance?! At the school?!?! Her heart started to hammer again and the color came back to her cheeks. He said it would give her a chance to see the castle and that the dance was going to be spectacular. But there was one question that was burning in her mind. She had to ask it now. "Is... is this a date? Like... boyfriend girlfriend?" Her voice was soft and shy, but her caramel colored eyes were looking at him. The blush in her cheeks made her big eyes look even deeper than they normally did. She wanted this to be a date. Like a real date. God, please let this be a real date. Even softer, she said, "Because if it is, then yes." Her blush got deeper, spreading into her ears and making her really warm.

Archie was so caught up in his excitement of asking Tempy that he was completely unaware of any movement she made towards him. Once he finished asking and made sure Tempy knew how amazing it would be, he turned to look at her expectantly with a bright smile across his face. She looked excited. That had to be a good sign. However, his question was followed up by a question that he was not expecting. Was this a boyfriend-girlfriend thing?*= Honestly, he wasn't sure. Certainly it was a date, but was it...more? He glanced down for a moment, making sure he would say the exact right thing. He didn't want to ruin this right as he was actually asking out. "Um, yes. It's a date." He said, letting himself relax just a touch. "And if you are ready for it to be a boyfriend-girlfriend thing...then I am too." This was honestly not how he was expecting the conversation to go, but he also didn't mind one bit.

Her heart was beating in her ears and she was very much aware of how red her face was turning after she'd just asked him if he wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend. She'd never done anything like this before. Oh God, what if he didn't want to be boyfriend and girlfriend? What if he just thought this was a friendship thing? Oh gosh, why wasn't he answering? Was he taking a long time or was she just perceiving every millisecond since she'd asked her question. Finally, Archie did confirm that he wanted this to be a be a date, then said if she was ready for it to be a boyfriend girlfriend thing, that he was too. Oh thank God. Her rapid heart rate got somehow even more rapid, but a wide smile spread across her face. "I am. I really am." She practically squealed, then she grabbed him and pulled him into a hug, still smiling from ear to ear. "Oh man, I'm so excited I can hear my heart in my ears," she said before breaking into a giggle. "You're my boyfriend and I'm your girlfriend. And we're going to a fancy dance together! Oh boy, I need a dress. Oh, lots of planning to do. Oh boy, oh jeez... And I'm rambling again. I'm sorry, I'm just so excited!"

Liam Carter McFallon
Freelance Writer

Liam blew out a breath. Having just finished up at Blood Moon Bath & Beauty, he smiled when he looked around the alley and saw a craft supply store. While he had no intention of ever starting a crafting hobby, he might look at their notebooks and see if they had any journals or fancy pens. He smiled when he thought about going home and seeing his daughter and Papa.
What Liam knew of Carter was that she was determined to be a journalist like him, but also loved history just like him. She was almost a mini Liam. However, he knew her birthday was April 2nd, so maybe he could find something for her when he entered the shop. His father had mentioned she had asked him to buy jewelry supplies for her friend.
With a solidary nod to himself, he opened the door to Craft Haven. So many bright colors shocked his system as he looked around the place. There was everything and anything someone might need for any and every craft. With a smile, he fixed his hair before heading for the counter.
With a practiced candor, Liam smiled. "Hi, I'm Liam McFallon. I work for the Prophet, and I'm writing the semi-annual shop review. Is there anyone available I could talk to?"

xx✩ Wʜᴇʀᴇ Aᴍ I? Craft Haven xxx✩ Wʜᴏ Is Wɪᴛʜ Mᴇ? Tempy, Liam xxxx✩ Wʜᴀᴛ's Gᴏɪɴɢ Oɴ? Interview? xxxxx✩ Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? An article in the Prophet? Quentin was behind the counter, as usual, working on a painting of the night's sky over Loch Lomond, when he heard the door chime. They were still in a bit of a slow season, so any customer needed to be treated like royalty. He quickly set down his palette down and slipped off his apron before turning to greet the man. His customer introduced himself as Liam McFallon, a journalist from the Daily Prophet. As soon as he said that, the clacking of a typewriter from the back of the store stopped and even before Que could introduce himself, the sound of Temperance scampering from the back of the store could be heard. The fifteen year old skidded to a stop as he started his introduction. "Hello, I'm Quentin Summers, though everyone usually just calls me Que. I'm the owner of Craft Haven. And this excitable young lady is my daughter-" Tempy cut him off. "Temperance Summers, Craft Haven News reporter. You said you work for the Daily Prophet? Are you a journalist? Oh fuzz, I need to grab my notebook." The blue haired girl hustled behind the counter and grabbed a spare notebook from her stack she stored up near the front of the store. Popping back up, she tugged a pencil from behind her ear and grinned at the man. Que just heavy sighed and said, "Tempy, love, don't bother the nice man while he's working." That earned him a death stare from the eager teenager.

Liam Carter McFallon
Freelance Writer

When Liam walked into Crafthaven, he should have noticed two things about the store. The first thing was that the man behind the counter painted a beautiful night sky piece. The second, and more important one, was the distinct click of a typewriter. He knew this sound so well that he should have known that was the clicking in the background.
However, it seemed too late for him because a younger girl ran up to him and the man behind the counter. Liam laughed as the two introduced themselves and extended his hand to the young lady before doing the same with her father, Que. "Liam, it's nice to meet you. And I'm a freelance writer, which means I can work for whichever paper I want; I just tend to write more for the Prophet than any other paper. They are looking for summer interns. If you are interested, I was hired to be a tutor after the review is finished." Liam quickly looked to Que with a smile. "Of course, with your father's permission. They accept all sorts of students, and I would happily read over a submission for you. You can also ask me anything. I have an eleven-year-old daughter who likes history and writes for the Dragon at Hogwarts. So, I'm good at multitasking."
Liam smiled once more at Temperance before pulling out his notebook and pen. He saluted the girl before directing his attention back at the owner. "The review I'm writing is pretty simple, so act as naturally as possible. With a professional journalist in the house, that should be easy for you." Liam nodded to the painting behind the counter. "If I'm not mistaken, the shop was opened about a year ago, correct? Was there a reason you wanted to start the shop?"
Liam smiled at the girl and looked at the spot next to him, which was an invitation to join the interview. "If you have any questions you want to ask for the review, please do. I could always use an insider's questioning." Liam returned to the man with a smile as he waited for an answer.

When he introduced himself and said he was, in fact, a freelance writer which meant that he could work for whichever paper he wanted, Temperance scribbled those details down in her notebook. She nodded and her tongue poked out a little as she wrote the information down. Big brown eyes looked over at him with a sparkle when he said that the Prophet was looking for summer interns, then she looked over at her father. "Ooh, dad! Can I? Can I?!" Quentin huffed a little sigh, then said, "Temperance, we'll talk about it later, okay? Let Liam be right now because he's working." Tempy puffed her cheeks out at her father and stomped her foot angrily before crossing her arms over her chest. "Sorry, Father. But maybe I'm trying to find something to do with my life." Letting out another sigh, Quentin rubbed the bridge of his nose but gestured at her to say "do whatever you want." Tempy took a spot beside Liam and continued her notes, detailing that he was doing an interview of her father about the opening of the shop. When Liam began his questioning, Quentin tuned in to the questions. He was asking about the reason that Que had opened the shop, which of course was the first question. Brown eyes glanced over at his daughter before he composed himself to answer the question. "Well, we were living with my parents before and I was just working at a local Tesco, but I decided that I didn't want to do that anymore. My main reason though was for Temperance. She... She's a squib and was struggling in Muggle school." Looking down at the counter, he let out a sigh and continued. "She was really depressed and I hoped that moving here and letting her socialize with other witches and wizards would help her feel better." Tempy frowned a little when her father answered. She knew that the whole reason the shop had been opened was for her already, but she hadn't realized how much her depression had been affecting him. Swallowing a little, Tempy asked, "Did... did you know in advance how effective the move would be?" She'd met her boyfriend and gotten to visit Hogwarts since moving here. Her depression was practically non-existent at this point. She had friends and a boyfriend now. Quentin smiled at his daughter when she asked if he knew that moving here would be effective. "You know, I didn't at first, but I'm very glad that it did."
