Whatever Calliana had set herself up to expect wasn't this. With the generalized chaos of Vera's home she'd thought for sure this store room would be a mess, but this...She couldn't help the awwed gasp that slipped out. "Oh, Vera! They're brilliant!" Shelves lined the walls with pieces of all varieties. Plates and bowls of different sized, vases that looked like flowers, and fruit dishes that would have put Belrean design to shame.
They weren't perfect, of course; each of the pieces had a flaw, but the design...Spirits above, if Vera had only taken her craft seriously at a younger age....
"You don't have to butter me up," Came a call from the sitting room. "You're already here, aren't ya?"
"But it's true! I've seen pieces made of copper that don't have half the detail."

Nimia gave a little smile as she pawed through the ceramics. While she couldn't see Calli's expression she could hear the other's awe and knew she understood why they'd had to come here. She lifted a few kettles, each as lovely as the last, but finally settled on a more subdued piece. It had a few snowflakes carved on the spout and was otherwise a plainer, darker cobalt compared to a few of the others.
To her it was beautiful and that's all that mattered. "Find anything?"

"How am I supposed to pick?" Calli walked along the shelves, her eyes taking in the variety of glazes and textures. She'd never been this close to a potter's hoard before so she was unsure which would last and which were purely decorative. The kettle Nimia had landed was pretty, but lacked any sort of flare Calli or her own Papa would want.
No she needed something unique, something priceless...
"Oh I need that." Her eyes landed on a gorgeous little cup, barely bigger than her palm but embellished in scales. She couldn't imagine how Vera would have done it; making each one shimmer brighter than the last, but it glowed. "How high are her prices?" Calli whispered. "I want to know if I have enough."

Of course she would pick that one. Nimia wasn't surprised in the least by her Aunt's choice. Her smile warmed though just watching the way her golden eyes sparkled with joy. It was flamboyant, yes, but no less precious; just like Calli.
"She doesn't charge coin; just hours of service. The simpler a piece the less you have to help out in the tannery, but that-" She pointed to the cup, "Will cost you the rest of your trip." Lifting her own find, Nimia walked out of the storeroom, curious if that would sway Calli's decision or not.

"Excuse me?" She would have to work...here...where the smelled like dead fish and piss? Calli couldn't fathom how anyone stayed here with all this slothing skin and fur for a day, let alone slept here, and now she would have to do it?!
Do it for the cup, do it for the cup.... Spirits, but did she really have to? Nimia was already walking away so apparently she wasn't joking and just....Groaning, Calliana steeled herself, pressed the cup to her chest and said a little prayer before walking to Vera. This trip was officially going from a mild family reunion to a traumatizing memory fast.
