Cold? Nis stared at Ekstrom as she lay shivering and hurried over. She could produce cold? Kneeling beside the other woman, Nis reached out and brushed her fingertips against the other knight’s face, grimacing a little.
“Very cold,” she agreed. Ekstrom had said from the neck up and now that Nis paused to really look, neck up on Ekstrom basically meant bare, exposed skin. Well, that was good to know and certainly gave her something to think about in terms of fighting. But it didn’t help poor Ekstrom at the moment. “I think we can call off this little experiment for now,” she said. “I’m not quite sure what cold has to do with Cosmos, but that’s neither here nor there. Can you sit up? Do you need any help?”
It would be pretty poor form for her to brush aside the other knight’s discomfort after she’d been so helpful. Nis was sorry that she didn’t have a means to help warm up that cold skin, but she could at least try to make things better in a different way?
Her only comfort right now was that, in her experience, knight magics rarely lasted longer than a minute. Hopefully the cold would fade away soon.

Ekstrom gave a little nod–thankfully it seemed Nis had stopped channeling, so she wasn't frozen in place anymore–at the idea of stopping the experiment here, and moved to sit up. As gung-ho as she was about being the dummy for target practice during sparring, she always realized too late how uncomfortable she could get depending on what type of magic was being tested. Which was fine! Mostly. It was for a good cause, after all. If it meant helping out a fellow knight, she could deal with a bit of discomfort.
"Maybe to get on my feet," she replied to the Nis's offer to help, and she extended her hand. "As for what it has to do with Cosmos, kinda hard to say." Her expression turned thoughtful as she turned the question over in her mind a few times.

”I can do that,” Nis said agreeably, taking the extended hand and gently tugging up. Frankly, Ekstrom could have asked for a piggyback ride home and Nis would have complied out of gratitude for the help. She’d have to experiment more and do some thinking, but tiny proto-ideas were beginning to form. “I’m sure I’ll figure out the connection eventually. It will probably be in the middle of a fight and sudden brilliance will strike and I’ll have my AHA! moment.”
Looking over the other woman, Nis was relieved that she couldn’t see any adverse effects to Ekstrom’s skin. Be a hell of a thing to end up giving some unsuspecting person frostbite.
“How’re you feeling now? Also, it seems really weird that I have the cold magic given you’re the one in icy blues and furs. Makes no damn sense.”

Ekstrom took the help and, as soon as she was on her feet, immediately pulled her hood up before taking her gloves off. Using her bare palms, she covered up her cheeks and relished the warmth that they brought. She imagined Nis's magic was also slowly wearing off, which worked well for her.
"That'd be a great thing!" she said, expression still bright behind her attempt at bundling up. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just need a nice cup of something warm and I'll be right as rain." She turned and pointed in what seemed to be some random direction.
"I'm that way, if you wanna come? I have some snacks, too. Cookies, scones, and I think a few danishes? Homemade! Maybe we could think of it as a little prize for figuring out a bit of your magic?"

"I'll never say no to danishes and scones," Nis said with a soft laugh. "I was going to offer to buy you a coffee or hot chocolate, but I suppose I can save that for next time."
Taking a moment to study Ekstrom's face, Nis nodded to herself. It didn't seem as cold-pinched now. Good. She'd have beaten herself up on the inside if she'd caused lasting harm.
Smiling and offering the knight a little bow, Nis said, "Lead on, friend. I am all for carby rewards."
