"Speaking." 'Thoughts.'
The wave of his magic pen was a sight to behold. Riven felt like she could watch it all day and never get bored. If only some of her classes were this interesting. History class was not boring, but the sense of calm over being able to just have a simple conversation was nice. Helped that the boy providing it was rather attractive, but Riven would keep that secret to the grave. Or at least until her next conversation with Addie. She still had her drawing of him from her dream, but it didn’t do him justice.
The idea of sharing something with him as easily as ice cream was helping her hold it together for the time being, but she was craving something sweet now. The idea of combining any of her favorite flavors in such an invention brought a smile to her face, " Really, I doubt pickles and cinnamon would go well together, but could be fun to try, I suppose." Riven chuckled at her own joke before paying her focus back on the blue-eyed angel.
"Yes, that sounds about right. Blueberry sounds interesting, though." A voice whispered in her ear telling her to ask him to bring her some, but all that happened was a quick blush coming across her face before immediately fading. Making a mental note to practice her vocabulary as she listened intently to the boy’s mannerisms as he communicated with her for any sign of interest outside of pleasantries.
The bell was going to ring soon, and Riven would lose all nerve if she didn’t act soon. " Pain d'épices." She smiled softly, trying to focus on looking at the boy’s cool blue eyes. " It’s like a sweet cake mixed with bread. My brother tried to convince my mom it was healthier because it’s bread-shaped, but she’s too smart for his foolishness." Thinking about her family back home helped ground her, even though she missed them, this wasn’t the time for her to make mistakes or miss opportunities. Mustering up all the courage she had, she stared intently at the boy again, " Perhaps I can bring it for the next time we have lunch tonight?"
