The silence could have spoken for him, or even the stiffening of his arms on her back that still felt so comfortable despite his sudden nervousness. Not that she blamed him, she had specifically wanted to not do that to him. The title itself dropped a lot of power, and she didn't like the differences it caused when the information came up. Particularly the fact that she was now the heir to the throne for her kingdom. She knew she was right to be worried when his stammered words left his mouth, and she bit her lip. ' Did I mess up? You should have known better to relax around someone else! This is what happens when you open your mouth...' a pang of pain shot through her chest at the thought of Stefano up and leaving her behind. She knew it was small, and it was honestly something her father would tell her was stupid, but she didn't want to lose him even if in the smallest way. She had gotten used to having someone by her side to some extent, and she wasn't ready to go back. She still owed him an answer. " Yeah, recently." she murmured, her voice just loud enough to be heard over the music. She had met his gaze briefly before she inhaled sharply hearing his reply.
" Even Princesses have bad days; you’re allowed to be upset. You’re allowed to feel stressed."
Violetta couldn't believe her ears; he wasn't telling her that it was too much? Clearly, he was a little more off standish now and part of her wanted to reach out and reassure him that she wasn't going to do or say anything different. It didn't change who she was, but in reality, she knew that it did. Perhaps not her as a person, but her personal relationships were going to be different depending particularly on who they were and where they were from. Despite the fact that they weren't supposed to expose where they were from, she knew it made a difference. At least to her father.
His next suggestion further threw her off balance because he didn't say what she thought he would. He said they should go somewhere else. Both of them, not that he had to go, or that he had to take in the information. She had widened her eyes slightly before she shook her head, placing her hands over her cheeks and breathing out. Focus, Vi! Yes, her emotions were running high and loose thanks to the alcohol but she still for some reason didn't feel like she had to worry about him. " I agree...we can begin to head back, unless you had somewhere else in mind?" even if they had just begun the walk back, she knew that the cool air outside would help make her focus again so she could explain things properly, not just blurting things out. " And... I'm sorry. For just dropping that information. I didn't mean to." it wasn't like she liked to hide it, but she liked it better when everyone felt like they were on equal level. It was like history class all over again, where Stefano and Bonnie had clearly spent some time together and it showed in their closeness in the moment.
She was a little surprised when the bartender arrived back with two drinks, and she was pulled back to the moment. Oh yeah, Stefano had ordered something. She shoved her hand into her pocket, pulling out a couple of coins and before she took hers, she dropped the money into the man's hand. " Keep the extra." she moved the glass in her hand before she sighed. ' I hope I don't mess this up...' she thought to herself as she stared down at it before she tightened her hand slightly around the glass. She looked back over towards him as she gave a weak, hesitant smile. " To getting to know each other better?" while part of her wanted to know that everything would be okay, she couldn't say that out loud here. And she knew things may get bumpy first. After a moment she tilted her head back and took a drink, the alcohol a little lighter than what she usually had but it was good. She brushed her thumb over the corner of her lips as she spun the glass to mix it up a little bit. " It's good." the mumble was more meant for herself, as she tried hard not to think about what was coming.

"Speech" 'Thoughts'It took everything in Stefano’s power not to kiss the woman where she stood. But he wanted to be a man of his word, and he promised to wait for her instructions to do anything else. It was almost crossing a boundary, suggesting they go anywhere else but the bar, but he hoped she would understand, given how distressed she was. He didn’t want the night to end with her, it had taken so much for her to agree to meet him in the first place. There wasn’t the intention of bringing her to tears, but as of late, that appeared to be the effect he had on the people he loved. The alcohol must have been stronger than he thought because of Violetta’s response to his request for them to switch locations. Yes, she had let him go, but it was just so that she could control her own emotions. Something Stefano had far more experience with, it didn’t take a genius to realize the princess was new to expressing herself. Showing emotions and wearing them on one’s sleeve was something that he could actually teach her for a change, instead of expecting her to guide him. This was his chance to take charge for once. His arms left her waist and touched her face, which she was attempting to hide. " Please, don’t apologize. You’ve done nothing wrong here." Stefano replied earnestly. There was a type of sadness he could identify within her that wasn’t too different from his own. They just chose to hide it in different ways, Violetta with her cold, aloof attitude, and Stefano with his head in the clouds. When their next round of drinks had arrived, Stefano didn’t want to keep her here any longer, but thankfully, Violetta was of the same mindset, quickly closing their tab, " Thank you, I could have gotten it.” It was his idea to go out after all, and after the distress he had caused her, it was the least he could do. But the bartender was too quick to run off with the money at the mention of keeping the extra coins. Something Stefano understood as well, coming from a background where money was something not easily tossed around. Pushing his hands back to his pockets, he muttered a response to her offer, " Yeah, of course." Seeing her so weak wasn’t something Stefano took any comfort in. It would have been better if the two had left, but she was attempting to stay for some reason. Stefano couldn’t understand the point she was trying to make unless Stefano had scared her off somehow. Despite saying he was fine going slow, he had still managed to move too quickly and startle her. Watching her down the drink, Stefano’s confusion and hope stirred once again. The game she was playing wasn’t one he was used to. " Is it? I should probably try mine then." He offered a chuckle in response, given the drink was meant to be sipped, but maybe she was trying to provide him a signal of sorts. Attempting to do the same, Stefano gave the drink a quick stir with his wrist before taking a swig. " Not the worst thing I have swallowed, but I have tasted far better." He laughed off the lingering feeling the liquor supplied. It burned, but there was an aftertaste provided by the ginger beer that offered some comfort. Based on the breakdown Violetta had, control was something she craved but also wanted to relinquish, and Stefano wasn’t sure what role he was supposed to be taking. It felt like they were side by side in a carriage, but she was the one in the driver’s seat while wanting him to take hold of the reins. " Whenever you’re ready," Stefano looked at her sympathetically, " You don’t have to be alone tonight."Where: Bar With: Violetta Outfit: His finest suit

Violetta couldn't believe he hadn't run off yet. Either she was the luckiest girl alive, or something was going to go wrong later. She deeply hoped that it wasn't the latter. For everything that she had been through in her childhood, the way her father treated her and even the way she was forced to grow up almost overnight when she was fourteen; well, that takes a lot out of someone. She didn't expect to find someone who could be so understanding to her now, years after this all happened. Being fair he didn't know, but something told her that even if he did, he wouldn't care, that's just how he was. So, when he touched her face after her apology, she felt her cheeks heating up slightly. And this time, not from the drinks. She breathed out softly as he mentioned that he could get it and she shook her head. She thought about her next sentence for only about a split second, before she thought she'd lose the nerve to actually say it. " You can cover next time, if that works." she did want to see him again like this, one on one was nice even if she knew that deep down this probably wouldn't be long-term for her.
He replied to her comment she made to herself, and she blinked, not realizing that she had said it loud enough to be heard. When he took his drink, she found herself glancing up and despite the weight that still pressed against her chest she cracked a small smile. He had an air about him that somehow managed to bring down her walls, and she didn't realize she needed that until she had it. She looked back down to the counter before she pushed her hair back with one hand. " Yeah, admittedly I'm used to stronger from home." if there was one thing Shahiti was good for, it was the dark alcohol. Be that whiskey, wine or beer. She was raised not to drink herself silly but even she thought a drink at the end of a stressful day was kind of nice. So, every day she had to deal with her father.
She carefully pushed back from the bar, letting herself turn on the bench and set her feet on the floor. She took a second as she hadn't stood since she started to drink at her first arrival, but she was fine. She had a higher tolerance due to what they carried at the castle. She looked up at him and took a slightly deeper breath to hide the fact that she could have cried for the fact that he thought she didn't have to be alone. It wasn't often people looked out for her, and she was beginning to realize that she really, truly needed it more. She nodded her head before she tentatively set her hand on his arm before letting it wrap around him, and she smiled almost sadly. " Thank you...for all of it." he may not know what she meant but she would explain once they were out of more public ear. She really didn't want to be left alone but she didn't know how she could manage it. It wasn't like she could invite him to her dorm and have him sleep in her bed with her, right?
The walk back to the school was long and while she would have thought it to be awkward, it surprisingly wasn't. At some point she had leaned into his warmth finding it more comforting that she had anticipated. She didn't say much, with the occasional comment from him about something they passed and her reply. She was still walking straight, although she felt sick to her stomach and not because of the alcohol. She had not only given away the biggest secret that she was supposed to keep under her belt, but she had no idea who had been inside that bar to have heard her. She never knew what her brother was planning and there was a lot up in the air at the moment as well as a lot more on her shoulders than what she had before.
As they walked into the building, she felt a wave of relief and even as she hesitantly began to let go of him to head on her way, he offered to walk her to her room. She didn't know how much she needed the offer until he said it. She allowed her hand to wrap around his arm again as she nodded gently " I'd like that." she said quietly, before giving a gentle tug to get him going in the right direction. She didn't say anything further as they moved, her mind racing with what she could actually tell him and what she should keep in her head. Part of her wanted to tell him everything, where she was from, what her status was... her family situation. She knew that wouldn't be smart especially considering who knew could be watching her even now. They stopped by her room, and she set her free hand on the doorknob before turning her head slightly to look up at him. " Come in for a moment...?" she didn't know if he'd take her up on the offer but when he did, she visibly relaxed her shoulders and pushed the door open. Her room was pretty basic, dark decorations and plenty of free space on her walls. She wasn't used to much decor and she was more comfortable with that. However, on the desk that was made out of dark wood sat a couple of books, a small plant and her dagger. It was still in the sheath that she usually wore around her thigh and she hadn't bothered to bring it with her tonight because she knew she had use of her powers if need be. She turned the light on, the light hurting her eyes as she slid her hand from his arm and undid the straps that she had over her shoulders and across her chest, shrugging it off before she set it on the chair in the corner of the room.
" I owe you an explanation." she began, running her hand through her hair before taking out the cigarette she had put out earlier and dropped it into the little can she had set aside for them. " There's a lot I can't share but..." she turned to him, her eyes almost sad. " I want to at least be honest with you." she moved and sat on her bed, head leaning back and eyes directed up at the ceiling as she thought to herself before speaking again. " I'm from Shahiti, I was newly moved up to heir to the throne and I didn't want you to be blindsided when you heard about it likely through the grapevine. It was never my intention to lie to you, I just... enjoyed the lack of responsibility that came with spending time with you and Bonnie." she knew it probably sounded stupid, but she started this with the promise of being honest. " I've never been good at feelings, but I want to try, for you." and she knew she'd reach out to Bonnie too eventually, not wanting to make her think she didn't like her. Her head tilted back down slightly so she was looking up at Stephano and she felt her anxiety begin to tighten in her chest as she thought about being alone tonight.
She couldn't do it.
She held one hand out, smiling slightly. " That all being said, if you're not upset with me..." she could feel her cheeks going pink slightly, but she was determined to get through it. "...I'd really rather not be by myself tonight." she couldn't do anything further than being with him, but she wanted to feel that warmth from his hug again. She had never actually slept with someone in the same bed, not even her own mother when she was ill. She was being selfish, wanting to still bask in that innocence she felt before all this happened. Hopefully he was willing to indulge her again with it.
