When Draven started laughing, it wasn't the reaction that she had expected. While she had never met his adoptive mother, was the woman that serious about killing him when he had children with someone? It seemed a little excessive to her, she was sure that her own parents were going to be over the moon. What with little feel running around the house again.
"Is she that bad? Does she not want grandchildren?" She asked as she settled on the other side of the fire. She looked at the pan that was still over the fire. "I know that my parents will enjoy baby sitting their new grandchild. Hopefully yours will also be just as thrilled."
She had a pause here as she thought of her own parents. She wondered how they were doing. She had written to them so she hoped that they weren't worrying about her that much. She was traveling in wonderful company and she wouldn't want them to come and split things up. The smell from the pan pulled her back to reality.
"So are we going to eat? Or let the food burn to the pan?"

Draven laughed again as he pulled the pan off the fire before the food started to burn on one side. Flipping the strips of meat over he placed the pan over the flames again. "It's not so much that, it's the fact that she will feel old. I am, as far as I know, her only son. She might have found others by now." he poked at the fire a little to keep it up. "You will get to see her when we travel south once more."
Things fell into a bit of silence as Draven finished cooking breakfast. He laid it out on two plates, handing one to Aldara and sitting back with his own. He thought back to when he last saw Dem. This was before he fell into the Dretch trap and had to travel back to the east. He had been pulled so far away from Zena that he often worried about hid companions.
"Lets eat quickly so we can break camp and head on. I think we both could use a hot bath and soft bed." He said grinning before almost wolfing down his food so that he could start taking up the bedrolls and tent, much to Aldara's protests.

"Oh so... Hey wait a mimute!" Aldara shouted as she looked at the space he had been sitting in. Now it was just open air and a couple dirty dishes. Was she supposed to be cleaning those? Turning around she noticed that he had already pulled out both bed rolls and had them rolled up and half the tent down. "You're going to make yourself sick doing that."
Glaring at Draven, she wondered just what was running through his head as he worked. His steps seemed almost lighter now that she had mentioned that they were going to be having a child soon. The thoughts of this caused her to laugh as she ate her own meal at a reasonable speed. She wasn't going to make herself sick, it wouldn't do herself or the child within any good.
"A hot bath does sound lovely, washing up in the freezing water here something still to be desired." Aldara finished her food and started picking up the plates so that she could scrub them in the snow. While it wasn't ideal, but it was better then having crusty food on them. By now Soran had come looking for his own food and Aldara tended to the Scorra as Draven tended to everything else.
"Come on Soran, lets get our things sorted. It seemed the big strong man wants to move faster now." She teased looking at Draven who seemed to have stopped and was turning red. "The cold must really be getting to him. So we should hurry as well."
The scorra tilted its head to Aldara before looking towards Draven. The only thing in its mind was food and it pecked at Aldara until she gave it some of the grain that was being carried. Aldara chuckled at her own feathered companion as she petted it. They had grown up together and the two seemed to know just what the other was thinking.. Well sometimes.

Draven was almost lost within his own world. A place between unexpected joy and down right dread. He hadn't thought he would ever want children, but here he was with a woman he cherished and she was going to birth their child. While it seemed early in the term, but it was along enough to know. He had just about broke down the tent completely before the small jibs came in his direction. He paused as he knew his face and ears were turning a bright red.
"If you aren't careful, I know of a snow drift with your name on it." He said in a promising way. While he would never hurt Aldara, but the snow here was soft and fluffy from the recent storm that passed through. "I would hate for you to get snow in places we shall not discuss right now."
It was all in jest as he rolled up the tent with its poles inside. He attached it to the saddle beneath the two rolls that was their bedding. Everything would have to be opened and dried once they reached the villa of his grandmother. She had left it in his name so that he would have a place to stay if he ever came to Zena. With everything packed and Regale saddled once more he turned towards Aldara.
"So are you ready?" he asked as he watched her.

The promise of being tossed into a snowdrift made Aldara laugh as she used some of the dirt they had dug out for the fire pit to put the flames out. With the flames smothered and a layer of snow added to it, Aldara finished packing her things and strapping her own packs to Soran. "Nearly there. Just have to get this last clip." She fastened all the straps as the scorra shook its feathers looking ready to go.
"Alright lets get going. I want to see this villa you keep speaking of. It sounds like a grand place." She said as she stepped over to Draven and Regale.
She knew he was waiting for her to get up first. He always did, so Aldara pulled herself up on to the saddle. After settling she felt him get up behind her. There was the customary clicking sound that told Regale to start moving. The Janarim snorted, huffing small clouds out its nostrils before leaping through the snow.
Soran squawked as Regale leaped forward and he was made to run to catch up. Leaping as well over the snow, the scorra followed in the Janarim's steps as they headed off.

Draven watched as Aldara pulled herself up into the saddle. He pulled himself up behind her. Arranging his cloak in a way to cover them both, he motioned for Regale to move. He peered backwards as the Scorra followed behind. Using the space that the Janarim plowed out to make travel easier. They traveled for most the day before a town started to come into sight.
"There it is. My grandmother's villa is near that town." He pointed, as they drew closer.
When they were just about to enter the town, Draven turned Regale to pace along the road the lead towards the mountains. As they traveled, the road started going higher to where one could see the town beneath. It was here that a large sized house sat. The white walls made it blend in with everything else. There was a short wall that surrounded the place and gate to keep others out.
"Here we are. This place was my grandmother's. When she passed she left everything to me. Whatever other family I might have had were probably upset." Draven chuckled as he got off Regale to push open the gates and lead the beast inside. Closing the gates once again he lead them towards the house. "We'll stay here until everyone is ready to travel again."

Aldara looked at the town that they were coming up upon. It seemed like a quaint little town before they turned away from it and headed up into the mountains. "You're grandmother's place is up here?" she asked before the villa came into sight. It was a grand white building with a wall and gate as well. She watched as Draven opened the gate and lead them inside. Soran keeping close to Regale as they went. As the gates were closed, Aldara slipped from the saddle and back to the ground.
"This seems a little too much." She paused as she looked at him a moment. It seemed he was determined to stay here. "Then we shall be here until the child is born." She agreed. Still uneasy about it, but at least it was a safe place to birth their child.
