Ei nodded, thoughtfully. "That makes perfect sense. Is it odd that I generally find cozier mystery shows to be my escape? Like, yes, someone's been murdered, but we're in a charming little English town, so at least we're very cute about it." Perhaps other people would have found it odd, but Ei had a feeling Sakura might get it. Or, perhaps that was simply a hope.

She turned her hand over under Sakura's, gently squeezing.

"It's alright. No harm done." On another day, she might have glanced out the window, but that would have meant looking away from Sakura. Not something she wanted to do. "Perhaps we can watch some movies together. Start in on that to-watch list."

Sakura nodded as she listened. "Like Murder She Wrote? That was a pretty good one, from what I can remember." She squeezed Ei's hand in return, feeling warm in the best of ways.

At the suggestion of watching movies together, Sakura positively lit up and she nodded in agreement. "I would love that, Ei. Though if I'm honest, I think I'd be perfectly content no matter what we were doing, as long as it means I get to spend more time with you." She hoped such an honest admission wouldn't be too much. She truly did like her, after all.

Ei nodded. "Murder She Wrote, Midsomer Murders, that sort of thing. Lighthearted but still mysteries."

She rested her elbow on the table, and her cheek in her palm, smiling fondly at Sakura. "Well. That's a second date, then. Movies at your place or mine." Were they moving quickly? Perhaps. Perhaps dinner ought to be on the table first. But Ei was also old enough that the idea of beating around the bush with silly dating rituals felt....well, silly. She knew what she wanted. She was going to go for it.
