"I get it," Keiran said. There had certainly been nights like that, where he'd drifted, lost, unsure, buried under stress and fear and--any number of other things.

Honestly, she was doing better than he had, some days.

"It's all good. Stay here, warm up, have some hot chocolate and cake, and if it'd help you relax, you can help me do the last minute cleaning. If not, just stay right here and I'll finish up."

It wasn't really important wither way. What mattered was that she was okay.
