He was only gone for a few hours! He’d had work shifts longer than this! But it was different. Now that the adrenaline from all that worrying was wearing off, Ariel was exhausted. His hand slid into Casey’s and he pulled himself back up, but used the momentum of the movement to slide into Casey’s arms once more.
Just one quick hug.
He wrapped his arms around him and squeezed gently before drawing away and smiling. “I’ll see you soon. But take your time! It’s no rush.”
Things were still normal. This was probably just a one-off fluke, anyway.
