"The older ones, yes. The one I live in is supposedly the most ancient of them all." Anahita answered honestly. "Not only is the foliage dense enough to block out so much sun, the trees themselves are giant. The trees are so wide that they're larger than some of the hosues here even and can be used for some homes." They were giant! No wonder some people in Tale built their homes in the trees, even some of the rangers used them for their huts in the village while her family had taken up in an old stone manor of sorts that had expanded over the years. "Anyone who doesn't know the paths can easily get lost for days in there." If they ever showed up again, so many of the villages near the edges of the forest always warned their children about wandering inside without a guide else they would be lost forever. Though it was hard for Anahita to believe, but that was because she had known the forest her entire life and couldn't imagine a home anywhere else.

"And it is! Oh?" Anahita's gaze brightened at the revelation. "Then you understand! It's dangerous, but also there's a good feeling about being able to protect others. I might like fighting a bit too much, but I think the risk is always worth the reward. Wait...wedding? Oh! You were part of that wedding?" The one that she had heard so much gossip over? How amazing! Anahita's expression was full of admiration as she looked over the Kahi. She had not only wandered into a foreign land, but she was also capable of helping with such a dramatic situation? Maybe there was a reason she caught her eye in the first place! Kindred spirits...maybe. Anahita's cheeks flushed slightly as she looked away for a moment and caught herself before she got carried away with her excitement. "I heard some rumors and it sounded like quite the situation, I could only imagine the thrill of putting some of those corrupted bastards behind bars."

"That's good. Hopefully you can add me to your list of kind people, if that's not too bold of me." Teased Anahita lightly as she finished adding up the ingredients and handed the basket over to the Oban merchant to count. "It's honestly very tough at times, but we send a lot of letters and packages over the years while traveling to see each other on occassion. Thankfully I'm in the area at least twice a year for escort missions so I can stop in like I will be this time. After I see my uncle I'm planning on going to Matori to see my other relatives as well, to take a break and enjoy the ocean for a couple of weeks before returning to Tale."

Mino’aka’s cheeks warmed. Even if she had been the one to reveal why she was here, being fussed over came as a ‘surprise’. It had been the talk of the town all morning so really she shouldn’t be surprised, and yet, here she was, all too eager to gossip over it. She moved in a little closer, even going as far as to lean closer to the earthling before muttering, “The stories they’ve telling? Not half as amazing as the real thing.” Of course she could have been embellishing herself because really, what other high class events had she attended, but to Mina it was all one giant scandal.

“At first I wasn’t sure why I was hired, but once I found out it felt good to be a part of it. I like a good tussle as much as anyone else, but knowing that I got to help in something like that, “ Mina’s smile brightened, “-it just made it worth it, y’know?” And she had a feeling Anahita did.

“When you’re in Matori you should stop by. I keep forgetting the name of the village I’m staying in, but I can point it out on the map if you want. Maybe it won’t be so far off from your family that we could meet back up?” It was a bold move, especially since they were still practically strangers, but Mina had never been one for subtley

Anahita's gaze was gleaming as Mina leaned forward, the hybrid tilting her head so that she could listen attentively to the muttered words. "Is that so? I might have to hear more over dinner, if you're so inclined." She replied in a softer voice though her tone was eager with excitement to hear more. How could she not be intrigued? After all she had heard in the marketplace to actually find someone from the event? It was amazing! "I agree." She replied with a warm smile, honestly truly impressed to find someone with a similar mentality. Even if others considered her a bit reckless and sometimes too eager to fight, it was always worth it to help out those in need and defeat the ruffians who wanted to try to pull these things in the first place.

As the merchant counted the supplies, Anahita nodded again. "I think that's an amazing idea. It's a shame if you're leaving Oba already, I would have even suggested traveling together if our paths worked out. I can always pull out a map once we get to the academy and see if you can point out the location. I know a good majority of Matori despite not being there too often thanks to my studies." Cartography was something interesting, and while her brother read so much more than any of them Anahita at least tried to keep up with some learning in between more physical training sessions.

Meanwhile the Oban cleared her throat and tapped at the table. "It'll be a few gold pieces for all of this."

"You mean a couple of silvers." Anahita replied with a small smile. "We're shopping for the academy, if that helps."

The crimson gaze looked over the hybrid and the Kahi warily before the Oban nodded and looked over the goods once more, as if actually seeing them for the first time. "I see. That was my mistake for thinking these were the rarer herbs."

"Mmhmm." Anahita looked over towards Mina. "Need help or is that okay with you?" She had her own bag of coins and so whatever the merchant wanted she could cover the rest, especially since she made certain it would be fair and not something far-fetched just because they looked out of place in the upper markets.

“Maybe that’s something we can talk about over dinner as well? If it’s a few days I might be persuaded to stick around, but nothing longer than a week. As much as I’d love company I’m eager to get back.” Oba had been fun and exciting before the grand spectacle, but honestly, without a certain someone at her side to share it with she felt a little lost. She wanted to make her way back to the docks so she could surprise him with tales of her adventures.
And then came talk of payment. Gold pieces. Mino’aka paled. That was…oh, but Anahita had mentioned it was going to be expensive. She just hadn’t thought it would be this high-

Silvers she could do, though, and without question she smiled demurely to back up Anahita’s story. It made her wonder just what sorts of connections she was making, but now she didn’t have time to fuss. Instead, held up a hand to Anahita before pulling the coins from her own satchel. It was clearly handmade, but cute in a florally decorated sort of way. “You’ve more than helped already the least I can do is cover this.” After she’d counted out the funds, she slid them across the counter toward the Oban and her smile brightened. “Thank you so much; have a great day.”

The woman’s general demeanor wouldn’t deter Mina’s good fortune. She would just meet that sour face with a brighter one and balance the whole thing out. “Shall we?”

"That might actually work out." Ana replied with a warm smile. "I wasn't planning on staying for too long, I've got work waiting for me back home so I only wanted to visit for a couple of days here before spending a week or so in Matori." And if not at least they could meet up later. It wasn't a big deal in the moment as long as they tried to keep that communication going. Maybe if fate allowed and Mina was staying near her grandparents' home village then she could just send extra letters whenever she did forward post there. Out of all things gaining a penpal was not something that Anahita had expected from this trip, but honestly she wasn't unhappy with the idea and hoped Mina would like it. If anything it excited her, especially when she was still eager to hear more about this wedding and how everything unfolded there.

Anahita looked at the merchant one final time, shaking her head as they walked away even as she opted to not say anything else as Mina wrapped up the purchase. "Lets." She smiled towards Mina, gesturing towards the street as she prepared to guide the way towards the academy where they could have a delicious dinner together thanks to the fresh ingredients and Basma's expertise.
