“I prefer my own, especially when my cousin is near. I almost wonder if he lets the road rage flow just because he knows he has a doctor in the car to patch him up if something goes wrong.” Grumbling slightly, his expression grew soured by the thought of the last time he’d seen his cousin screaming over someone running a red light.

“I always make sure to eat, it’s important to not skip meals especially when you have a stressful job. Which we both have two stressful jobs I would have to say?” Not that much had been terribly stressful as of late with his promotion, he was able to avoid more of the issues that were brought about while walking instead of teleporting.

With everything set up, Lorcan got them both there in just a few minutes, it wasn’t a far drive and for once the lights had behaved and remained green. It was something he wished happened more often, one of the few things that would save him time instead of throwing wrenches in his schedule. Pulling up to the location, he double-checked the GPS before parking.

“While that is true, I might be able to find something here. I’m sure they have things besides sushi and fish, to cater to a wider variety of people so they can stay in business.” It was hard for places to keep up when they had such a niche menu, just like he’d seen some smaller restaurants close for the same reason even if the food was amazing.

“Or perhaps he does that all the time? I may get annoyed, and sometimes a bit loud, I honestly don’t have the time or energy to waste on such things.” Not on that anyway. Watching botched tattoos, piercings and body modifications or seeing poor service, and hygiene, would get him pacing and ranting and even talking loud and gesturing at times. It was one thing which got what temper he did have going. He might not like order, he really had it out for them, but he wouldn’t call it rage though anger fit well it was more of a cold anger.

“I know they have soup, that’s fairly normal, but I don’t look at the menu outside of the sushi if I’m ordering something special…or soup.” He was certain he’d seen dumplings though. Climbing out of the other car he led the way into the restaurant, sliding the door open he went about asking to be shown to a booth. Only he didn’t ask in English as the woman greeting them had a heavy accent he figured Japanese might be easier.

“We’ll get a menu for you and I’m going for the sushi so I don’t need to worry.” It would all just come right by on the long conveyor belt, which could be seen moving all around the place with the chefs in the middle making the dishes up and sending them off for whoever wanted them.

“I would say I’m similar in that vein but sometimes my cousin really tries to test my patience as only family ever could.” He wouldn’t trade anything for it but sometimes he did want to shake his cousin and their tart quite thoroughly sometimes. Shaking his head a bit, he followed them inside and noticed their switch of language to speak with the staff. It wasn’t one he knew a lick of really but he didn’t really pay much mind to it.

Looking over the menu and then the conveyor, he wasn’t exactly sure how he felt about it but a few of the items did seem to look decent enough for him. “I think I will try the tonkatsu bento? It looks like it comes with a good range of things that are up my alley.” He also wouldn’t say that he was avoiding the sushi because it wasn’t cooked but that wasn’t something he’d really bring up if that was what they liked. If the place was open there had to be enough food safety to prevent illness but he still personally didn’t trust it.

“I guess you must come here often, it seems like a place a lot of the students might go.” It seemed trendy in a way but to be honest he could get behind not having to interact much with staff to place an order and eat. Looking at the small screen, he tapped in what he wanted as well as a drink of hot tea. He’d see how things went with that and then maybe look into what they had for desert just to get the full course list in a way.

“I would say testing the patience of family members is normal…something that is part of being family. Like partners will argue and have differences but that is to be expected. It’s something that’s accepted of them but not when it’s an outsider.” Something he didn’t know first hand, not anymore, but he witnessed it enough and heard about it from co-workers. It seemed like how families simply were…at least the close ones anyway. It’s what happened when you spent a lot of time with family members or spouses - you tried each other and pushed buttons. It was bound to happen.

While the other ordered off the menu, because it wasn’t something they’d have on the belt, Kioshi was taking the case out of his pocket and setting it on the table. From it he pulled a set of wooden chopsticks and a stone rest for them. The case went back into his pocket and the sticks remained, resting properly, as he turned to eye the belt and what was coming around. He’d order a drink…once he had some food grabbed.

Reaching for a plate with two small bits of rice and eel he brought it down onto the table followed by something else which seemed to have roe on top…and then another dish. Watching he grabbed two more before settling and popping open a small opening in the table so he could pull out a bottle of soy sauce, a small dish, and packets of wasabi. Those were set down, and the opening in the table closed, and he poured some soy sauce into his little dish and a packet was opened with some wasabi being added to each bit of sashimi.

“Somewhat often, especially when I first changed sides - it saved money. Each plate is a little over a dollar. So the prices are good for a filling meal.” Which was also why students went, but so did other people. “These places are popular in Japan, they’re everywhere from what I know. But I think this is only one of two in the city…” At least that he knew of, so he could easily be wrong on that. The tablet was poked at for a moment as an order for a second green tea was placed, as well as a bowl of udon soup.

Now that things were done, for the moment, he pressed his hands together for a moment and uttered a single word…something which was more habit than anything. He didn’t do it so much at home, not when he was alone, but in a public place with other asians - yes. “Itadakimasu.” And went to eat, grabbing the first bite of food and dipping it into the soy sauce, just a bit, before one biting it.
