“I do…perhaps because I grew up on the opposite side of things…and they all seemed so perfect but I know they aren’t. I’ve seen it with my own mother and her family…and with you and yours, though that has gotten better. I think seeing them be normal people, even a little bit, is refreshing. Though I don’t want that ever getting out…that would be terrible.”
“I’m sure it won’t be broken hearts but broken aspirations and dreams…not hearts.They don’t know you….and I doubt they’d have stuck around to help either - because it took work and wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.” It had been anything but sunshine and rainbows but it was getting there now. It was getting so much better with Aloysius being healthier and working on himself as he was, because Liam had reached out and offered help and had been there since the start and stayed.
His arms about Aloysius he took the others lips in a gentle kiss. “Good, once the mission is over we can start planning a wedding. I was however…wondering if it would be something small.” Even if high society might want something bigger, something befitting, he didn’t think either of them would like such a thing. He rather hoped to keep it small and to family and close friends. Let high society complain about not being there or getting details - he didn’t care.
“That’s all I want to know tonight about the future. I want to enjoy tonight and savor this more than anything.”

“It makes sense and I am glad you find something amusing about it. You are right though, I doubt any of them would have stuck around like you have through some of my worst moments. I think the work makes it more worth it because you can see the progress.” Even if he didn’t see it the same way sometimes because it was hard to tell changes when looking at himself in the mirror daily. But it was there because he wouldn’t be out and about as much as he was if things had stayed the same, if he’d be left to live out that loop he’d been stuck in day in and day out.
“Something small, we can have your father there and Mel, maybe a few others but we have time to figure things out. Tonight is for relaxing and… some other things which will help relieve the rest of my lingering stress.” Letting the kiss last a bit longer, he watched the meteor shower out of the corner of his eye while remaining comfortably in their arms. It was easy to let his worries fall away with them here and he was certain things would go well as long as they kept by his side just as they were.
