This was possibly one of the benefits of really knowing your partner. It wasn't so much that he enjoyed seeing her a bit out of her element, like a fish out of water, and uncomfortable, but more that he could just tell when she was in the middle of one of those moments. Harvey saw the way her ears reddened and had a good feeling her face looked much the same even if she did look away, and he couldn't help but smile wide.
"Sorry, sorry," he said as a genuine apology, though his tone was light. He pulled her into a hug then, to give her a chance to bury her face into his shoulder until the blush subsided if she wanted to. "Ice cream's on me, if it helps at all, and I'll even relinquish my dibs on the remote to make it up to you."
He wondered for a moment if there was anything more he could add to possibly sweeten the pot even more. At the same time, he wondered if he really wanted to subject himself to something very obviously to her advantage. Even though they were dating now, he had a feeling she wouldn't be pulling any punches when it came to her cons or the costumes she made him wear to them. If anything, she might very well double down and start doing things she might have taken off the table since he could, as her friend, very easily refuse anything that was too demanding.
Everything, even the best of things, truly did have its pros and cons.
"And do..." he paused, clearly hesitating, but eventually sighed and went on to say, "any… cosplay you want for the next con."

Harvey was met with no resistance when he pulled her into a hug. However, it did take a moment for her rigid posture to relax, and to wrap her arms around him where she loosely held onto fistfuls of fabric. Although his laughter was teasing, his gesture was kind and despite her wounded pride wanting to be upset with him, she would not turn away from the moment he offered for her to recompose herself. Her mind knew what her heart would have to begrudgingly accept, it would just take a bit for the aching to go away. “I’d be tempted to accept,” she commented, voice slightly muffled from where her face was buried against his shoulder. Her head turned, tucked beneath his chin before continuing, “That is if you didn’t sound like you were conscripted into signing your soul away…” Not only did she hear his defeated-sounding sigh, but she felt it. Like earlier, she poked him again between the ribs, though this time perhaps not as gently.

He laughed lightly when she poked him, even though it did hurt a little bit this time.
"Look," he started his defense, "if I didn't have any idea what the possibilities are when I say 'any' I might be able to sound more excited about it." He tightened his hold on her and comfortably rested his chin atop her head. "Ignoring my tone, though, would you really pass up on dressing me up any which way you want?"

“So, you mean to say that you’d be willing to wear a provocative gender bent Curella deVil, with a men’s corset vest, tight a**-hugging pants,” she smirked at the thought and had to resist the urge to slip her hand into his back pocket. “Re leather gloves and a gaudy faux fur coat.” Her head canted to the side in thoughtful consideration. “Not sure… the button-down shirt could be part open, but would probably look best closed with a tie.” Melody leaned her head back to get a good look at his expression, expecting to see a surprised horrified look, a narrowed glare, or a smile with an irritated eye twitch. Something to convey that mistakes were made in his offer.

The look of dread, for Harvey, was conveyed with narrowed, squinty eyes and a very worried expression, including something of an eye twitch, as he pictured himself dressed as described and walking about in public. Granted he honestly thought he could probably pull it off given her talent and taste when it came to clothes and costumes, but that was very, very far off from the main point.
"I mean..." he started slowly, wondering what choice of words would accurately articulate how badly he wanted to say "no" without sounding like he was backing out of the deal. "If that's what you really want, I won't say 'no'...so my only hope is that that's not really what you want."

“Honestly though, I’d kind of like to see you dressed up as one of the male leads in one of the fantasy drama’s your mother watches when she comes over.” She’d have to look through the recently watched list but she was certain Harvey turn heads if he’d allow her to make an outfit like that for him.

Relief did follow when she offered up a much more attractive idea.
"Or that, we could go with that." The man gave her a wide, hopeful grin. "The last one was actually pretty good, I could probably pull that off pretty well since it's obviously from my people."

Melody laughed and shook her head at how quickly he clung to the second option. “I would never make you wear something that made you uncomfortable. I hope you know that.” Feeling a bit more at ease given the awkwardness that settled between them over a kiss, she let go of his shirt and unwound her arms from around him before taking a step back. “You’ll have to invite your mother over then so she can help me pick a good series,” Also perhaps repay her with dinner as a thank you for the sides she had brought over earlier today. With a genuine smile, she held a hand out to him, “Shall we keep walking?”

Harvey relaxed all the more at the sound of her laugh, and pulled on a playful, thoughtful expression when she said she would never make him wear anything that made him uncomfortable. Considering he wasn't comfortable being in costume at all, that wasn't technically true, but she also never made him put any of that on.
He agreed for her sake, after all.
"Yeah, let's," he said as he took her offered hand without further question. "And if that's all you need, consider it done. I'll text her tomorrow. Bit too late now, she'll ask weird questions."
He pulled her a little closer as they went, finding the extra space between them unneeded, and he could only hope that she didn't mind.
