“I guess,” Meninx muttered reluctantly. She made it easy to think this was kind of a game. And if they both knew what to expect…
Well, he couldn’t say that he didn’t like this more than actually fighting, at least. It was predictable in that they were going through the motions, but unpredictable because he was still waiting for her to spring some trap.
His mother would be so ashamed of him if she knew that he was getting complacent around ‘the enemy’. But then, everyone she met was an enemy. She made sure of it.
She wasn’t even a Knight, or a Senshi. She still found a way to make wars.
Meninx didn’t keep Ilmare waiting long; as soon as she got within range, he tossed her once more–right in the middle of a thick patch of flowers that immediately lit up and thickened the air.
He completely lost sight of her for a few seconds, but for the sake of the act he didn’t ask if she was okay.

Landing a little harder than expected, Ilmare let out a whuff of surprise and then laid in the grass as flowers burned and flashed around her. The initial blow to her side was throbbing slightly now, a sure sign that she'd be bruised in the morning. Perfect.
Deciding that this was as good a time as any to make her 'escape' from the big bad knight, she waited a moment, then carefully wriggled through the grass. The entire patch was finishing it's burn anyway, so there wouldn't be much remaining in the way of showmanship. And since Ilmare had promised the knight the apparent victory, she was going to have to simply run. Some streaks of glowing dust remained on her skin and in her hair, but that was all right.
Once she judged that she was close enough to whisper without the sound carrying, but still far enough to be out of reach, Ilmare stood up and, paused a second to look around as if dazed and hurting...
"As promised," she whispered. "Going home without causing any trouble. Safe night!"
The message took all of two seconds to give before she shot off into the night, leaving a rapidly fading steak of glowing dust behind. If she hurried, she'd be home in time to change and hit the goth club before the final song played.
