His... necklace? Amon's hand went instinctively up to cover it, stomach twisting uncomfortably. He didn't have a ... close relationship with his mother. She was more fond of rich finery and wine than of him. Heck, his stepfather cared more about him (to a earnest, obnoxious degree) than she did. But the necklace had been the one time she humored him when it came to his father.

He grit his teeth, especially as Arden continued on with his misplaced assumptions, reaching up to clumsily unclasp the necklace. He was so used to wearing it, that his neck felt strangely heavy without it. "I inherited my mother's crystals, if you must know." He admitted, as he dropped the necklace carefully into Arden's waiting hand. "But I don't fear your deal, because I mean no harm." He stressed the words, tone almost as good as a roll of the eyes.

"How common they must be, for you to hide them like you do and resort to this." He held up the necklace once it was place in his hand before tucking it away in a pocket. "A cheap replica for the real thing." It was biting and cruel, but Arden didn't care. He didn't once think about how the comment might hurt because he was hurting and he wanted someone else to feel that same sort of pain.

"Follow me, then." As much as he loathed the idea of taking the stranger to his home there wasn't any other choice. If he left him behind the Zenan would chase after him, no doubt worried about Arden fleeing the area, and since Asa didn't work solely at the clinic he couldn't stake out the place. He'd just have to go directly to the source and hope for the best.

"What's your name then, Little Lord Sargsyan?"

Amon's face flushed an unsightly purple at the taunts, and already a snide remark about the boys illegitimacy was on the tip of his tongue before he hastily swallowed it back with a grimace. Instead he fell into step a pace behind him, roiling at the thought that this hybrid was, somehow, his blood.

He wished he could sneer and dismiss the questions. Who was this peasant to speak to him this way? To mock his title, to not even recognize the weight of the name their father had given up like it was nothing?

But he had to play harmless and nice, even if anxiety and hurt urged him to lash out. He'd been taught all his life how to bottle up his fury and loneliness behind a facade of politeness, so he'd grin and bear it.

"Amon. Please, you won't deter me from meeting our father by mocking me." His tone was carefully flat, even overconfident, but he couldn't stop a bit of disdain dripped into the word 'our'.

I could just take him down an alley, knock him out and stuff him in a crate- No, no. As easily as it would be to make this problem 'go away' Arden was neither the type nor did he want to pass up this opportunity. The entire thing made his stomach roll, but now that the questions were here he wanted answers. So, for the time being, he would play 'nice'.

"So you're saying I can talk to you however I want and you'll still follow me?" Arden sneered. There was a bit of a smirk there, but it was too tinged with barely veiled annoyance and rage to fully form.

He didn't acknowledge the bit about their father because he couldn't. Arden didn't want to believe it so he didn't and until there was irrefutable proof that Asa - delicate, mild, unassuming - Asa had committed something vile he wouldn't.

Amon didn't ask for the other boys name, nor did he receive it out of due politeness. Not that anything about this boy was polite. Amon wanted to hate him on principle, but considering his fortuitous appearance and willingness to take him where he wanted to go, Amon couldn't really make himself anything more than eager to finally face Asa.

He arched a brow and hummed passively at the antagonism, but otherwise left the younger boy to his stewing.
