He must have been thinking something along the same lines as Ephesus because he wore a patient, knowing smile. Maybe Ephesus’ wonder had been calling to him this whole time, and the reason he couldn’t rest was because he had unfinished business over here. “Well, then I just won’t put you down,” he decided.
His arms were tired and his body was sore but he was happy and he could push through this.
“Maybe not tonight, because I know our friends are going to miss us, but we should ask the Code what this is all about. I’ve seen people glow before.” He’d heard about Transcendence, and though he didn’t know what it meant or how you were supposed to tap into that power, something like that–something like this–couldn’t be bad, right?
Ephesus wasn’t hurting, he didn’t seem sick.

Amarynthos didn’t ask if Ephesus wanted to be put down, or if he was ready to head back; he was pretty sure he could probably just carry him around his Wonder for a little while until he fell asleep and then head back to sleep with their friends.
