Honi listened thoughtfully. It was definitely something worth checking out. It would just feel good to throw around a bit of clay and craft again. The slightest sense of normalcy tugged at her gut with need. Then she might be able to trade it for more supplies as well! Hopefully, not being an amateur in her own right would come in useful.
The healer's smile made her own rise. The man looked worn out from what she assumed was merely a long night shift, but the love in his expression shown as bright as a flame. "I can tell they worked hard on it. It's definitely a treasure."
The door to the shop opened up, and in marched a short and stocky lightning woman. Honi tried her hardest to not flinch away under the woman's suspicious stare, and busied herself by focusing on the basket of supplies. Just remain calm, breathe, don't run like a scared rabbit...
The woman eventually dismissed Honi though and focused on Asa. "You. Did some odd pair come in at all last night? A scruffy Geian male with neck markings and a Matori female." She looked at Honi again and hooked her thumb over. "Female has hair like that. A rotten pair we're tryin' to get off the streets."
'Breathe. Don't run. Breathe. Don't run yet.'

Asa pleasantly took in the newcomer, all the while casting a subtle side eye to his current ‘patient’. Something had changed about her aura, but-
“A greeting would not have gone amiss.” He replied cooly, turning his complete attention toward the lightning woman. “This is a place of healing and stress is hard on not only the body, but the mind. I would ask that, going forward, you remember that.” Brushing his hands down the front of his wardrobe, Asa smiled, “Now, a scruffy Geian and a Matori female. I’ve not run across any Matori women, but a Geian with neck markings did come in yesterday evening. I can certainly grab his file if you’ve the proper warrant for it. I’m not at liberty to discuss patients without it, I’m afraid.”

The gruff woman's exterior faltered a little, expression going blank with disbelief while she stared at Asa. "I come lookin' to get some scum off the street and you want me to waste my breath sayin' hello?" She sighed heavily and shook her head, posture quickly back on the hunt. "Warrant. Yeah, yeah. Now that I know you got something worth looking at, maybe." She gave the small group one more glance before she went off on her latest mission. She had a lead and was eager to share!
Scum... It wasn't true at all! Honi bit the inside of her cheek to keep herself from arguing against the accusation. After all, they weren't walking about her. Just the false image they tried to create.
She was absurdly proud of herself for not giving herself away in the moment. The illusion had been just enough. Luckily, it had also just been a grunt who seemed to be more brawn than brain... A soft sigh of relief slipped when she heard the rude woman leave the clinic, and she gave a small laugh that trembled more than she would have liked it to. "I'll never understand how so many can go without basic manners," she offered as casually as she could.
That was when she could focus enough on what was actually inside the basket. She couldn't linger, but seeing how much seemed to actually be in the basket shocked her. She would have been happy with a small bottle of antiseptic, but this variety was sure to help a lot! "Speaking of manners.. thank you. Thank you so much."

Asa just smiled brighter and allowed the woman’s ire to rise. It wasn’t as if he was unused to it; ever since birth he’d had a knack for disappointing others and Belrea was no different. “Safe travels.” He called after her and waited until the gruff Lightning ‘officer’ – guard, perhaps? Or ruffian – was truly gone before returning to his business.
“It’s a shame, but not an uncommon one.” A Geian man with markings on his neck? Asa was sure they had files on at least one and if not fabricating something wouldn’t be terribly difficult. One of the only benefits to being born in his previous station was mastering the art of manipulation. If she wanted information he would give it, but not about anyone tied with this woman. Whatever sort of trouble this Matori hybrid – if she truly was a hybrid, now that he looked at her with a magical eye – was in wasn’t his to judge.
“You’re very welcome. This life can be a cruel one, but looking after those that have your back makes it a little brighter.” Asa’s smile softened. “If you need anything else….I always tea at the café near the airship port midday, near the end of the week.” Coming back to the clinic might be tricky, but dropping by for a quick supply run…Well, that would only take moments.

Honi couldn't help her eyes watering slightly at the voiced sentiment. In her world turned upside down, the main thing getting her through it was exactly as the good doctor said. She had someone to look after, and who she knew would look after her. There was no doubt in her mind that she would have fallen by now without Eli's presence. She wouldn't have been in this mess at all without him, but that was neither here nor there! "I pray that my situation will change soon, and that I'll be able to more appropriately pay for your services... but I will keep that in mind if this- um- slump.. lingers." She held the basket tightly, and her smile took on a bit more genuine warmth. She thanked him again as she headed for the door. Having even one more spark of brightness to light the dark would buoy her for a little while.
