In the end for him it came down to which janarim had come over to him first which happened to be the pretty black and red female. She immediately had nuzzled under his arm after she had sniffed hello. A beautific grin broke out on his face as he accepted her application.
"I believe Father that she is the one." He said formally and held out a hand for the orange marking collar that told prospective buyers that this one was spoken for. She was still a tad young to come home to the island with them but they would be back in a few weeks once she had had more of a head start on growth. At this point in her development their guide had explained, she would be better off with the constant care of the ranch and with others of her kind around her age for socialization purposes it would make her much easier to train later.
He hopped from foot to foot in his excitement.

They headed back home after both petting the newest addition to their family. Raolvar paid a deposit on the critter to be paid in full next time. No doubt they could have weedled the animal from Grandpa or Grandma but Raolvar wanted to support them.
He had earned the money by selling furs and he would put that toward a pet for his son, a well bred, heavily armed protective pet.
The journey home went well and they had both been able to update Kechiri on the days goings on. He felt very satisfied. It was good to reward good behaviour and Vhallas for all of his spicey bloodlines was a calm and collected youngling, he wondered if anything would change with puberty or not. He was kind of hoping not. Perhaps there had been some personality influence from one of the calmer relatives or perchance his own bloodline.

A few week later they got the letter to come and pick up their new baby critter. He and his Dad set out immediately and were able to reach the ranch in good time as the wind and sea were also cooperating with them. Which was good because he was very very hyper, he finally got to bring his little girl home! He had run from one end of the boat to the other nearly the whole way. His Dad had given him bemused looks. Vhall figured it was because adults had less energy, this was just the most exciting part of his life.
At the ranch they were greeted by the same attendant who was holding the leads of both the black and red female and the black and rainbow male with a somewhat sheepish expression on her face.
"Before you ask, you should read the note," She handed over a thick creamy envelope.
- This bloke has been freaking out ever since you left, pining. And it is my pleasure to give gifts to my grandson. Paid in full. - Ushiwa

He took the note his son handed him and grinned. He had been found out, but of course his and Vhallas's name would have been on the receipt. And there was his deposit in a little bag with a note from Viltre.

"Can't get away with anything in this family. Well son, they are both yours. I guess we will add two more stalls instead of one shall we?"
They were such fine stock and must be worth a small fortune but well the look on his son's face told everything.
He was happy that he had been a part of this, it was too bad that Kechiri was doing a bit of work on the inland side to earn a bit of extra coin for herself, shopping season was coming up and Vhallas was outgrowing everything at an alarming rate.
He wondered how their current critters would react to the newest additions to the family. They were pretty good with each other and Kechiri's two wouldn't be fighting with the new ones for her attention so he thought it would go smoothly enough, if not they had enough space to separate the critters until these two grew up.
"Time to start thinking of names."

"Oh thank you!" He hugged his Dad, he hugged the attendant and he hugged both critters before being handed their leads, they were at least decent with walking on leads at this point in their training. The ranch put a little more work into animals that were young and spoken for to make the transition to a new owner as easy as possible.
"Names... I can't think of any right at this moment, I want to be around them a bit first and then I can figure it out."
He was so happy with all of this. This was just the best day ever and he couldn't express it with words, so he went on another round of hugs for his new pets and wrung the hand of the lady tamer who had helped them the whole time. It was busy season after all and she had remained steady and told him that his grandpa had helped tame the two critters for him.
