Calix blinked at the question, frowning before shaking his head. “I wish.” He admitted quietly, a soft sigh leaving his own lips as he thought about attending such festivities. “Before it was too risky to go out into such a crowd and now I’m simply too busy.” He pondered the option, looking at the deep amber of his diminishing tea before looking back towards Omari. “Am I missing a lot? I assume that you’ve had quite a few experiences with festivities considering your academy’s participation in such.”

“That’s a shame.” Omari replied without hesitation, honestly feeling bad that Calix hadn’t experienced the chaotic fun of a festival in Sulburi. “There’s nothing quite like venturing through the crowded streets, seeing what entertainers are performing and playing even a few games with companions as you browse the stalls.” He expressed with a small smile as he reflected upon his own experiences that went beyond scheduling performances for his students there. “Of course. I’ve even attended festivals even as a child growing up mostly in Matori. It’s a good way to just experience some local culture and get some good snacks. Perhaps one day you’ll manage to clear your schedule and I could even escort you around, showing you some ideal spots in Sulburi to enjoy the performances and who the best vendors are.”

“Ah.” Calix lowered his gaze, almost feeling ashamed that he had missed out on such things. But one could never tell, especially when he was younger with assassins constantly after his family, and so it was best to play it safe. A few years ago a meeting like this wouldn’t have even been possible, so much had changed already since then. “Maybe I shall take you up on that offer.” He replied eventually, tempted by such a positive review of the festivals. Some considered them bothersome, just too loud of a mess to even want to deal with from what he had heard from other noble meetings, but then Omari seemed to brighten up at the very thought of them which enticed Calix to want to attend one. “I will be disappointed though if it’s not nearly as marvelous as you describe.” He added after a moment, a ghost of a smile crossing his lips as he took another sip of his tea.

“You won’t be disappointed.” Replied Omari with a grin, the hybrid pointing towards Calix as if locking in his words. “We will attend a festival together and I will show you all of the best spots. You can’t live in Sulburi and not attend at least one festival, nor can you visit Matori and miss out on the summer festivities. I’ll have to find you there one day, even if it takes us years to get the chance.” He knew Calix had some Matori heritage, his grandmother being infamous for having been adopted into the Cyrillus family in the first place, and it would not surprise him that they had a manor in Matori as well. It was simply a matter of matching up their busy schedules during a festival season and meeting up in the ocean country. “For now though I suppose we’ll have to settle on the treats the cafe prepared for us today and then explore the idea of festivals next time.”

Calix could only shake his head at Omari’s enthusiasm. It seemed that he truly was locked into exploring one of these festivals with him then. Omari was honest and very stubborn when it came to making ideas reality, that much Calix had learned from their interactions thus far. “I suppose it won’t be an awful thing to at least try to attend one together.” He acknowledged, reaching for one of the treats that Omari mentioned so that he could relax for a bit longer while conversing with the other hybrid for the afternoon. His reaction was enough to brighten Omari’s expression, the conversation turning to lighter topics as they left any additional business talk for their next meeting.
