Poem by Morgan Harper Nichols
You Are Worth
You are worth
the quiet moment.
You are worth
the deeper breath.
You are worth
the time it takes
to slow down,
be still
and rest.

"Phenomenal Woman" by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies. I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size But when I start to tell them, They think I'm telling lies. I say, It's in the reach of my arms The span of my hips, The stride of my step, The curl of my lips. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
I walk into a room Just as cool as you please, And to a man, The fellows stand or Fall down on their knees. Then they swarm around me, A hive of honey bees. I say, It's the fire in my eyes, And the flash of my teeth, The swing in my waist, And the joy in my feet. I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
Men themselves have wondered What they see in me. They try so much But they can't touch My inner mystery. When I try to show them They say they still can't see. I say, It's in the arch of my back, The sun of my smile, The ride of my breasts, The grace of my style. I'm a woman
Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.
Now you understand Just why my head's not bowed. I don't shout or jump about Or have to talk real loud. When you see me passing It ought to make you proud. I say, It's in the click of my heels, The bend of my hair, the palm of my hand, The need of my care, 'Cause I'm a woman Phenomenally. Phenomenal woman, That's me.

The rose is a rose, And was always a rose. But the theory now goes That the apple's a rose, And the pear is, and so's The plum, I suppose. The dear only knows What will next prove a rose. You, of course, are a rose - But were always a rose.
The Rose Family by Robert Frost

Poem by William Ernest Henley
Invictus
Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Bad Lyrics by Michael Jackson
Well, they say the sky's the limit And to me that's really true, ah But, my friend, you have seen nothin' Just wait 'til I get through Because I'm bad, I'm bad, shamone (bad, bad, really, really bad) You know I'm bad, I'm bad (bad, bad) You know it (really, really bad) You know I'm bad, I'm bad (bad, bad) Shamone, you know (really, really bad) And the whole world has to answer right now Just to tell you once again Who's bad?

"Self Confidence Poem" by Melody Godfred
Fear of confrontation used to silence me. Self love raised my voice. Fear of failure used to immobilize me. Self love emboldened me. Fear of judgement used to consume me. Self love made me whole. Fear of abandonment used to anchor me. Self love helped me set sail

"TODAY I ASKED MY BODY WHAT SHE NEEDED" BY HOLLIE HOLDEN
Today I asked my body what she needed, Which is a big deal Considering my journey of Not Really Asking That Much.
I thought she might need more water. Or protein. Or greens. Or yoga. Or supplements. Or movement.
But as I stood in the shower Reflecting on her stretch marks Her roundness where I would like flatness, Her softness where I would like firmness, All those conditioned wishes That form a bundle of Never-Quite-Right-Ness, She whispered very gently:
Could you just love me like this?

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23 King James Version (KJV)

Forgive
Forgive someone. Today forgive. Turn from bitter to positive. End frustration, anger, pain; Wash the anguish from your brain.
No need to reconcile or tell; Just feel better and get well. A brand new, peaceful life to live, That's your gift, when you forgive.

Poem by Mary Oliver
Wild Geese
You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place in the family of things.

We Are the Champions Lyrics by Queen
I've paid my dues Time after time I've done my sentence But committed no crime And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand Kicked in my face But I've come through
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World
