Well that helped to fill in the interveining time since her daughter had disapeared and disbanded her current crew. She had been quite worried for a long time in fact but Ushiruin had had evidence of where she was so she hadn't started the torches burning.
"You know I had my suspicions, I'm glad she chose so highly, Thal wouldn't like you so much if you were not a quality man." How he had been single for so long probably had more to do with his being a bushwacker than anything else.
"If you need anything, let us know, she will be too proud to ask most likely, but family is family no matter what island they are on."
She plunked the coffee in front of him and held her tea in front of her as if it held all the answers. It was impossible to read coffee grinds, she pouted.

"Thank you, we greatly appreciate that, I know we will need the family eventually and she will come around. She is maturing into a fine fiery young queen let me assure you." It would be a misnomer to call her a simple girl or woman as Kechiri was so much more than that.
"I see a lot of you in her, though she would deny it. There is a lot of Ushiwa to be sure but there is a lot of Saeruin in there too. You are her mother after all and she would have imprinted. I see echoes in how you both move."
There was no surer way to touch a mothers heart than to point out the bits of them in their children. Ushiruin looked much more like Saeruin than Kechiri did.
But there was an air about both Sae and Kechiri that was unmistakable. Like Mother like Daughter and perhaps one day like granddaughter. He thought it would be fun to have a girl child.

"You flatterer you, I know my daughter and I have not gotten along all that well, but you see she absolutely worships her father and what she doesn't see are the reason we butt heads is that we are also subtly similar. She will realize one day, perhaps when she is a Mama herself what I mean and that what I do is for her own good." She took a deep drink of tea and wished slightly that there was some alcohol in it. Ahh well, it was too early for that, perhaps she would propose a bonfire night. That always made her feel really good.
"You will have to drag her back for a visit, her father is getting antsy and no one likes it when one of the wolf twins is antsy, I don't know which one can be scarier though. Pray you have one kid at a time, twins are a bit..powerful in what they can accomplish." She smiled evenly at him, thinking it lightly she was gazing upon the father of her future grandchildren, the tea leaves at the empty bottom of her cup told her so.

"I will see what I can do, this is very good coffee, where do you source the beans from? I need to get a supply of this for us for sure."
It was right with bright citrus notes that blended well with the cream that Sae had provided him. "I can't imagine why she doesnt get along with you, I find you most agreeable indeed."
The coffee truly was an experience and he was greatly enjoying himself here with his new mother in law. He was sure that he would take Kechirir to wife at some point.
However he went about that however was his own business and Sae need not yet know the details but he would be sure to tell her and include her. It wasn't her fault that Kechi had been so much a daddies girl that it excluded her mother from much.

"I greatly appreciate everything you have done and ahem, everything you will do." She waggled her eyebrows at him so he would quite catch her drift. "All of my children are so very dear to me."
She was closer to her son but she loved each of her children fiercely and deeply even though she wasn't all that close to her Kechiri, she was still her daughter and Sae rooted for her at every step of the way even if her little spice box wouldn't admit it.
She was her daughter and there was simply no changing that. Sae loved her like she loved her next breath of air.
"A detail I will be sure to share with you, Nykinae' boyfriend* provides the coffee. Though she has yet to see him so that is what he is." Ny was another woman who was a bit stubborn with their choice of mate.
