Ishani ll 4"Maybe?" It was definitely something to think about and something Ishani planned on getting to the bottom of. She'd already been reaching for her boots, the wrap keeping her wet hair off her neck flopping about, when her father caught her off guard. "Tea?" What did they need tea for? What was - Oh. To help calm Harlei. "Yeah, I can go ask." She would have much rather gone with her mother, but this was helpful and she'd be able to get back to Harlei much faster this way. Too bad she didn't know enough about tea to make sure she got the right one... Giving her sister's shoulder a squeeze, Ishani dipped back out into the hall, dead set on finding the elderly inn keep.

She paused when Hargitt told her to wait then looked at his bags as he pointed to them. The shifter raised a brow at him before she moved over to collect what would be needed. Rajani wasn't about to argue with him. He clearly intended to use food to help soothe their daughter. Her hand left his pack as he called to Ishani and sent her out for tea.
As their other daughter walked out of the room she crossed to the door, sparing a glance at Harlei. "I'll see what I can find out. You stay with your papa." Her eyes went up to her friend with a silent communication that said she'd be back and out the door she went. If she remembered right then she should be able to find the alk hybrid not too far down the way.

Harlei 5 She was thankful that their mother was at least willing to go out and try to find out more info rather than guess and leave things unexplained. Harlei did look at her dad a bit odd when he sent Ishani for tea, then she realized it was for her. Alright, she could go for some. A bit of a warm drink might be something to distract herself. The nudge to the fire met very little resistance but when he told her to sit and breathe she turned her head to look at him. Did he think she forgot to do that? It was a natural thing. "Dad. Really? Breathe? I am breathing." She huffed and found a seat in front of the fire to get warm but with nothing to distract her she grabbed at her hair again and brought it to where she would see it. She was afraid to really look in the mirror and see the whole picture.

Hargitt ll 5
"You're on the verge of panic." Hargitt pointed out bluntly. "Breathe better." As clear cut as the man was, he barely resisted the urge to snort as he got her settled. With that taken care of he took the seat closest to her. This wasn't a scenario he'd been prepared for. Raising daughters was already outside of his expertise, but to have one suddenly changed by magic was a level of odd he couldn't comprehend. How was he even supposed to help?
"...I could cut it." It might be better than watching her tug at it all night. Maybe if it didn't fall in her line of sight then she wouldn't be as stressed?

Ishani ll 5
Getting the tea together wasn't nearly as easy a task as Ishani had hoped. She made her way down the well worn stone staircase to the lower floor, and hesitated a moment before following the sounds of voices toward what she assumed to be a kitchen. At this time of day most of the evening meals had already been served which meant that whoever was in there was likely cleaning up and not so eager to have a visitor.
Too bad for them Ishani didn't know when to back down.
After explaining her situation to the older Zenan washing pots and promptly being told to make the tea her own damn self the teen did just that. She snatched up a kettle, filled it with water, and heated it over the fire, all the while glaring daggers. What was this old man's deal? Didn't he realize there was a crisis?!
"Don't take too many tea leaves, you don't need a lot for a po-"
"I know what I need." Ishani huffed and reached for the leaves, a tray, and a nice cup instead of the chipped ones the regular guests had. With a 'eat dirt' sort of look, the teenager backed out of the room with her tray and started back.
"Tea for the young lady and geezer~"

Harlei 6
"Verge?" Her eyes went from her hair to her dad's face. "I've done panicked." She shook her hair at him. "Do you not see what happened?" She took in a deep breath then let it out as she tossed her hair up and over, not caring that it landed funny on top of her head. Her arms crossed in front of her chest and she glared into the fire. If she and her sister weren't as close then she might have suspected that Ishani put dye in her soap.
The mention of cutting her hair granted Hargitt a hearty glare himself. ".... cut yours first." With how her dad was about his hair she figured he'd understand how she and her sister were about theirs. The only one that could stand their hair really being messed with was their mother. And that was only occasionally.

Rajani 6 Once she was outside she looked both ways to figure out where she was heading. Where was the best place to find the hybrid? She took a second before she headed off to the right, thinking that perhaps she should check the clinic first. They might be dealing with panicked villagers and as such maybe they had heard something. It was worth a shot. And while she was there she could also ask for information about where to find the alk hybrid she'd spotted in the village earlier that week.

Hargitt ll 6
At first Hargitt was ready to let her have her moment and sulk. It was a big change, and one she was going through alone no less, so he was trying his best to be empathetic. However there was something in her glare and her tone that cut him. For a moment his eyes sharpened and the Sauti native's teeth upon themselves.
"...Rajani and your sister will be back soon. Don't move." Without another word Hargitt stood up, collected his boots and walked out the door. He passed Ishani in the hallway, though he didn't so much as stop by his her. In fact the only time the man did stop was to slip into his boots before taking the stairs to the main floor.
He'd be lying if he said that he understood Harlei's trauma connected to her hair. She'd always been particular about it, and he wasn't sure if it was something she'd learned while watching them or if something had happened in her childhood. His own issues stemmed from adolescent trauma brought on by an Uncle who regularly pulled the hair from his scalp to get his attention. Now that he was older Hargitt allowed no one to get close, but what of his daughter? Had he missed something? Either way, having that tone connected with his own issues brought up something in him that made the man desire space for the evening.
Since it was still too cold to venture far without proper equipment Hargitt went as far as the stables, found a warm place to sit and pulled a flask out of the inside of his coat pocket.

Ishani ll 6
Something had happened in that room and Ishani wasn't sure how to handle it. She'd been reaching for the door, doing her best to balance the tray, when Hargitt came out. The teenager knew her father well enough that when his face looked the way it did it was best not to question him so she hurriedly side stepped to let him go. For a moment she just looked down the hall, trying to ponder what had put him in a mood, before slipping back in and pulling the door closed behind her.
"Well...I've got tea? If you'd like it. Special brew I made myself."

When she arrived at the clinic she noted that there were more than a few visitors. It looked like she was right about there being people who would seek the advice of their healer. However she did cringe at the sight of the small crowd. Her first instinct was to turn and walk away but Harlei needed answers. The family needed answers really. And she couldn't leave her best friend wondering what had happened to his daughter.
So she took a steadying breath before she moved toward the group of people. She prepared herself for the interactions mentally. The shifter made sure she had the questions already at the fore front of her mind to cut back on the time she would need to spend in close proximity to the group.

Harlei 7 When her dad got distant with his words she looked at him. It was then that her demeanor changed. She sat up straight and uncrossed her arms, her eyes softened and she started to frown. "Dad.." but it was too late. When he left she deflated in her seat and looked down at her lap. Her sister returned not too long after that and all Harlei could do was look at Ishani with fresh tears in her eyes, these ones having nothing to do with her changes. She knew her parents didn't like certain things and that there were reasons behind them, but she didn't know the reasons. Harlei's own reason for not liking her hair messed with was mostly because she was tender headed but also because she'd grown up watching both parents guard their hair and figured that was the norm. "I upset dad.." She finally said to her sister. There was no pretending to be innocent on that one.

Ishani ll 7
With a soft exhale, the teen moved closer to her sister and sat the tea tray down on the ground infront of them. Since the only formal 'table' was covered already, she had little choice and besides, she wanted to get closer to Harlei anyway. Instead of sitting where Hargitt had once been she got down on her knees by Harlei and reached for her sister's hand.
"Oh." That definitely explained his expression. Giving Harlei's hand a squeeze, Ishani turned back to the tea tray and poured them both a cup. "Here, have a drink. It'll help." She didn't want to lie and tell her sister it would be okay because there were too many uncertainties in all of this. All she could do, with absolute certainty, was stay by her side.

Hargitt ll 7At some point in the early hours of morning Hargitt would find his way back to the room. There was just too much going on in his mind for him to return any earlier than that, but at a certain point he had overheard from a few stablehands that the color changes weren't so uncommon. Apparently even among the inn's staff there were a few that had been afflicted which both brought on new questions, but also assured him his daughter wasn't under some sort of curse. It was enough to soothe some part of Hargitt's soul, even if the rest was uneasy and until just before dawn he'd been contented stewing over it in his stall.
