She smiled softly. “Wouldn’t hurt to look.” It was all she could offer the other girl. After they had been there for some time she cleared her throat. “Come on. I’ll see if I can find an elder for you.” She motioned for the girl to follow along. "They will be able to help more than I can."

She was sad to have to move away so soon but she was excited about the idea that might be able to get a closer look. While she’d gotten to look at her own mother tree as much as she’d wanted it was a different experience to see another tree. And since this was the one from which her own mother tree came it was somewhat magical.

She looked back to make sure the young Elidae was following. “I’m sure they won’t mind escorting you to see the tree.” That was just something she didn’t handle. Akel was the poisons master. She dealt with warriors who weren’t careful enough or giving out poisons to fight enemies. Visitors weren't her forte.

“Thank you for showing me that.” She said again as she hurried to keep up with the older Elarian. “I’ll have to write home to my mother and let her know how stunning the Mother Tree is.” Her mother had wanted to see but had refused to travel. Perhaps she might be able to commission someone to draw it for her and she could send the drawing home instead.

“I’m sure your mother will enjoy hearing about it.” Why the girl’s mother hadn’t come was a mystery, and not one she was going to ask about. Some didn’t like to travel. Akel wasn’t exactly fond of leaving her home area but she had done so for her wife and would do so again if needed. “Make sure to tell her you are well. Mother’s worry.” It would be nice to have a letter or two from her own daughters who were traveling.
