He turned his head when he noticed his daughter moving. While he still had to learn a lot about her moods he did know that hiding was something she did when she was uncomfortable. He blinked a few times before he turned back to the Aishan woman making the request for an order. “I can work with a few days. Should be done by noon tomorrow.” That would give him time to see if he needed any special metals.

She frowned a little when she saw the girl hide away from her. Had she done something wrong? From the looks of things the men were used to the female doing such a thing. So she decided not to give any more attention to it in case it was her that was causing the issue. “Alright. I’ll be sure to stop in tomorrow afternoon to pick it up.” She stepped forward to place the blade on the table near the blacksmith. She didn’t want to get too close in case it upset the girl more.

The extra attention her move gained her caused her to groan a little. Zohra was given a look that said she was fine. Her father was offered a very small smile. Truly she was alright just awkwardly shy. When she noticed the woman looking again she turned her head to avoid eye contact. Usually she was fine but today just seemed to be an extra shy day. Go figure.

When he got the okay from his cousin he turned back around to give his uncle a reassuring smile. And the conversation about the blade continued as if nothing happened. As it should. He knew that Sio hated when people drew too much attention to her. “Is it made from a special material? I was always curious about Aishan weapons.”

He was thankful that Zohra had been there - even if the boy was annoying most times. So he was able to focus on the customer. And then he heard his nephew ask the very thing he’d been curious about. Of course he only lifted a brow at Zohra. As a blacksmith he’d have figured it out once he started working on the blade.

“Oh uh.. No. I think its fairly standard by earthling means.” She hadn’t gotten anything fancy when she’d left home since she didn’t think she’d be able to find someone to repair it. Basic weapons and tools had been her choice since everyone should be able to fix them or even replace them.

With nothing to do except wait for the customer to leave she took to fidgeting a little. Her fingernails suddenly became very interesting. She inspected them like they were the first fingernails she had ever seen in her life. And it helped her to feel a little bit invisible as she continued to hide behind her cousin.

“Oh, well that’s oddly disappointing.” He was hoping to hear that it was made out of some secret metal that the Aishan’s hid away from the rest of the world. It would have made for a good story to tell his family later. But it was not to be so. With nothing else to offer the conversation he fell quiet and remained the wall that hid Sio away from view.

Knowing it wasn’t some special metal certainly made his job easier. He wouldn’t need to go find the materials then. And he wouldn’t need to work through the night to make sure it was done. So he nodded at the woman. “That makes things easier for me.” He moved over to take the blade from the table and inspect it. Sure enough there was a chip in the blade that would need repaired unless she wanted to risk breaking the whole thing.

She smiled at the blacksmith and then waved a little. “I’ll be back tomorrow.” And from there they could discuss payment. Since she and her sister had come prepared for the expenses a trip would cost she wasn’t too worried about it. Not to mention she could easily find work if she needed more coin in her pocket. With that she turned to leave the forge.

She was thankful that Zohra understood the assignment she’d given him. He was to be the wall that hid her from others. He’d always been that when her brother wasn’t around so nothing had really changed over the years. When the woman said she’d be back and turned to leave Sio leaned to the side to look at her dad and see if he was mad at her.

He waved at the woman as she turned to leave. Only when she was gone did he move from his spot. He looked at his cousin with raised brows, making sure she was good. Zohra then looked over at his uncle. “Better get to work old man.” He commented loudly. He knew he was likely to get himself in trouble though. That didn’t stop him from being rotten to his Uncle however.

He nodded at the Aishan and moved so that he could get the blade ready for the repairs. Of course he saw his daughter look at him and all he did was offer her a smile. He wasn’t upset with her for hiding. He could understand that she was shy and strangers made it worse. As his nephew told him to get to work he shook his head slightly. “I will send you to your mother.” He brought up the threat again.
