Raol 8
He in turn told her about his travels over the last few years and a few more details on his failed romances. How Thal had sold Xerius to him and some of the more interesting interactions with wildlife in his travels. He may get more critters eventually but he had come to rely on Xerius like a brother, a constant companion more than a simple familiar. Turned out he was preaching to the choire. She had critters too after all. They had not been with her when the ship went down. They probably would have been okay. The snaptrotter for sure, and the janarim could likely swim to shore though they tended to dislike water. He couldn't imagine being without Xerius for any length of time himself. He was just too important to him now, radaku could also swim thankfully. Though he was glad in a way that her critters could not be hurt in the fracas. She would have been angrier then he thought and from the looks of it her ship had been very important to her.

Kechi 9 She was fascinated by his tails of romance lost, hers had never been that deep, with very little feeling. Course she had usually been quite drunk in her trists. Non had dared threaten or stay with her till dawn, which at the time had suited her greatly. Never had she been star struck like this male had been with her Aunty Ristadis or the woman on the coast who was looking after the lost leafling.
It read like a bad novel. She smirked. Perhaps..perhaps she would be his forever and ward off those females that she saw as weaker..not Aunt Rista, but that had been different she had chosen uncle Umen and they were still very happy. Though they had been changed by those trees where she had not, Uncle Umen barely looked like himself anymore. She was still a bit jealous that she had not changed. It looked like Raolvar had been unchanged. She could see why, he too like she and her brother, were perfect the way they were. "Still no sign of your original family huh?" He had been journeying initially to find them, but to the best of her knowledge they were gone as they should have found each other at some point by now.

Raol 9 He sighed, "Sadly, no luck on that front. It looks like I will have to chose, and or make my own family. I'm not getting any younger so I figured I would put a bit more effort into finding love." It was a bit hard for a hermit who travelled more than he stayed still. The problem was that the wilderness just offered so much more to the curious than did a city. However the wilderness could be a bit lacking in single eligable females too, at least of his own darn species and even those of the alk and Kahi bent. He wouldn't turn his nose at anyone at this point but he would prefer an earthling female, the biology was significantly easier to understand.
"They must be lost, at least they did not suffer long." He had suffered without them but even the deepest wounds healed over time. "It is not as hard now." It helped that he was an adult now anyway. He understood it better and his emotions were no longer raw and grating.

Kechi 10 She looked down. Sad. She wanted to change the subject to something lighter but at that moment nothing really came to mind. She let her thoughts drift and the radaku below her eat the miles. She started to look at Raolvar, really look at him. He kept handy time with the radaku mount even with the heavier than normal pack on his back. The man was in fantastic shape and she admired that in others. She usually looked much better than she did, and she was not worried about him judging her body condition, he knew what long time stretches without proper equipment and hard to catch food felt like. He had been through that before. Not once had he judged her the night before. That was also admirable. He had everything she could want in a man, it was just to explore his soul and see if there was anything in there that didn't make the grade. She thought he was probably going to be fine. For once she had hope romantically. Her sister was going to LOVE this.

Raol 10 Eventually after a very long day, he finally led the Pirate Queen down her own driveway. The ranch was larger than it had been but the people were the same. It seemed to be developing its own mini village nearby with the population that the ranch itself. It felt for all the world like a second home for him, if a bit of a temporary one, he was a bit of a wanderer, but if need be, he could stay in one spot for a while, for a good cause. It would be good to see everyone again and to catch up with Thal. Last time the man had just had triplet boys, who knew how many children he had now. Raol was really looking forward to it and he took Ms Kechiri all the way up to the main family residence, knocked on the door and promptly surrendered her to those waiting inside. He felt relief in his heart and they were both spoiled with tea and food. Xerius was unpacked and sent to the stables with fresh meat for recuperation and the best possible care in the hands of many accomplished beast tamers. His duty was done, his hope had just begun.
