Nodding slightly, he relaxed a bit more. “Alright then, that works out well, sorry if I was a bit jumpy.” Smiling a bit to Liam he looked back over at Kiuchi.
“I think it has a charm of its own and feels much less dangerous in a way than the Rift is.” Shrugging slightly, he still remembered the times he’d gotten roughed up in the Rift while working on his research though most of the time it had been his fault for being careless back then.
Looking out at the shards, it was a sight to see and had a beauty he could appreciate. “ What do you mean by that? Was it something that showed up after the fact?” He hadn’t gotten to ask much about that back then, most of what he’d spoken of was related to morals and goals that the senshi had or about how the mirrors worked. He’d had a running theory for a while but never expected the way it felt to pass through one to be so surreal.

“Less dangerous….” Trailing off as he fixed his dark eyes on the General. “Mirrorspace has tried to harm us, it is somewhat sentient.” It hadn’t yet killed any of its senshi but he did worry that one day it might happen, though he did hope not, he could only hope they would be able to handle whatever it dealt out next time and the time after…and every other time.
“No, mirrorscape has not always been here. Think of it like a game and a new stage or a new prize being unlocked after you accomplish something difficult.” Going back to how he liked to game, though a bit less now than in the past, as a way to make this easier to understand.
“We got pulled into space, to a palace where the Princess there was ruling over a dead planet, it was after she attempted to turn us into minions of a sort that we found out what was really going on. Planets were, maybe still are, being broken down by chaos into their basic elements. Those elements are the crystals we find in mirrorspace which we use here, in mirrorscape, to create things…to make life here and to create a home of our own. The chaos seed came out of the whole fight along with mirrorscape - with finding out that her planet was nothing but a husk as was anything around her planet. She was being controlled and used as a puppet.” What they had was stolen, in a sense, it was broken down worlds that once had perhaps belonged to other senshi or knights…other people. But it was all they had and he wouldn’t turn it away, wouldn’t refuse it, it was what they got out of this all and he’d take it.
Squeezing his plushie a bit more, fingers curling into his tighter, he turned to look out towards the mirrorscape. “I’ve been building my own little island carefully.”
So that was what happened…and that was why they had mirrorscape. The idea made him sick, had his stomach forming knots, it was the loss of other planets that they had what they did now. So stars, and planets, were dying and being consumed just to feed this all. But as he thought, as he got worked up, the idea hit him out of nowhere - black holes. Weren’t stars and planets, and other things, pulled into them and destroyed? Didn’t stars die out anyway. So was this any worse? The planets yes…but not the rest perhaps.
It was still not an idea he liked, one he’d have to deal with in time and come to some consensus on, but he didn’t like how the idea made him feel right now. The other, who looked rather harmless, seemed rather ok with this whole topic but they had been around longer. Was that why? Was it because they had nowhere else? As he said.

And there came the answer, no matter the shade of chaos, it led to the destruction of worlds. His face changed slightly, almost imperceptibly as he ghosted his hand over Liam’s reassuringly. He could tell that the information wasn’t sitting well with them. A question formed in his mind but it was one that would have to be asked with care, one that he didn’t necessarily want to know the answer to either. He knew what could happen to his sister in the Negaverse if she offered her own planet up to Metallia, a cracked shell would remain loyal as always but not his sister anymore. Was this pathway any better? What had happened to the planets of these senshi, were they still around or just broken down into the crystals that could be found here? They all seemed to stil be themselves from what he’d seen over the year so at least it was kinder in some ways. He could live with that, even support that idea. Much more than what befell senshi of the Negaverse when they gave it all to Metallia.
“Shades of chaos, milder in some ways but still laced with destruction. I have seen what becomes of those who give their worlds up willingly but what remains could only be considered husks as well. Nothing like that happens to your court though, you retain yourselves even if this mirror scape is just the remains of lost worlds?” He hoped nothing would happen in that sense, it would be hard enough if he lost Mel if she willingly chose that path but if it happened to Liam as well… he’d be all alone again.
Fully grabbing Liam’s hand, he squeezed it slightly to reassure himself this time. They would have to talk about things at some point but he would do what he could to reassure them.

“We are milder but to remain neutral is a balancing act which could anytime tip…and if it does we all become the potential victim of the side which we fall into disfavor with. It’s not a position which is safe or gives comfort. We’re close, like a small knit together family, which I do prefer and I find comfort in that.” But with that comfort was a darker side…a less pleasant side of things. He knew it was there, it was always there, but he tried to not focus on that most of the time. He knew the position they were in.
“Those worlds may not have ever belonged to any of us…we don’t know. I don’t know if any are still being destroyed. If my world were torn to bits and recycled I don’t know if I’d know or what might happen to me - if anything.” Shrugging as he spoke softly, holding the plushie just a bit tighter. It was a scary thought, the unknown, because something bad could happen and they wouldn’t know till it happened. This was a lot of new things…magic didn’t come with some rule book or anything, though it really should, but it was all a lot of unknowns and rules that no one knew about till they just became a thing.
“As far as I know we are safe from anything happening to us, aside from the usual temper tantrums mirrorspace throws every so often, when it decides to try and hurt or kill us. That aside I’d say our biggest issue is keeping ourselves in everyone's favor…or at least off everyones hit list.” And that was no easy. It meant keeping out of issues and even standing in the backgrounds and watching things happen, perhaps even literally, because it was safer for them that way. They were too small to get into a fight with either faction, and they knew it, but it let them work on themselves and their group so it did in some ways benefit them.

A grim expression settled into his face as he stepped back away from the chaos seed, into Liam as he considered things. That balancing act was one he knew of, one he’d seen over the years with each interaction while maintaining his own balancing act in the Negaverse. It was a house of cards, one strong wind from falling to pieces. It made sense why they were so close-knit, as well as why some of the ones he had met were less than agreeable about him being with the Negaverse.
Nodding slowly for a moment, he understood what they meant. He’d seen it happen to Liam, how another agent had attacked them even if they were neutral. Not everyone was willing to talk first, to avoid violence, no matter what side of things they were on. It still felt wrong though, knowing this information as an outsider looking in even if most people understood how precarious things were for anyone trying to remain neutral. It had been something he had worried about especially around Benitoite because his own hesitance to fight could be seen as disloyalty to the wrong person.
“I think… that is more than enough for me today. Thank you. I look forward to perhaps bumping into you again, hopefully with more pleasant topics to speak of. I will say that I am an ally here for each of the court’s senshi I have met if that is any consolation.” Swallowing hard for a moment, he took in that bit of a trade-off. They seemed to know a lot so hopefully, their assumptions would continue to prove accurate. This was a lot to take in, more than he’d expected when he’d asked Liam to bring him through the mirror today and potentially more than he was prepared to handle today as well.
“May we leave, please?” Facing Liam now, he spoke quietly. He didn’t want to lead and get lost in the endless maze this place seemed to be but he also didn’t want to be here while he tried to think things through.

He’d upset them it seemed, not what he’d been aiming for, but it was also him giving voice to something he rarely ever thought of. He knew it, of course he did, but it wasn’t something he liked to think on really. It was a bit heavier than he liked to think about, though there were times when he would delve into the heavy things because you had to every so often. You couldn’t avoid them or ignore them…they didn’t go away if you ignored them.
“Of course, I am sorry if I upset you - either of you.” Smiling a bit the eternal lifted up his plushie and make to poke the General in the cheek with it. “If you ever need me I’m sure you can find me. If you are, as you say, a friend of the court then I’ll help you if you ever need it. I have some protection magic I can offer up.” Though his magic wasn’t totally geared towards that. He figured that was the better part to offer up to assist the General if he ever needed it.
“You can call me Kiuchi.” And he did plan to visit his little floating mirror island - so that’s what he did move to do.
Giving his partner's hand a squeeze he nodded once. “Thanks Kiuchi, I’m sure if he ever needs the help he’ll have me call for you.” Somehow or other. He was used to the panda plush the eternal carried about so it didn’t weird him out, not even when he poked his partner in the face with it. Rolling his eyes as the eternal headed off, towards whichever island was his, Liam turned towards his partner.
“He’s good, strong even if he doesn’t look it. He’s not a leader though…he takes orders best.” Typically from Acubens, or Remarque. “But I’ve seen him step up when it’s needed..he’s loyal and doesn’t shy from things too much.” Though he did seem to not like confrontation and often had that plush in his arms, perhaps something to help him handle stress? It would make sense as it was something he’d seen in the orphanage with children.
That would make sense…and might tie into how Acubens met him, like she’d run into him as well. “We can go….and perhaps dinner we can order out?”

The plush was a bit odd but soft as it bopped him in the face before he’d finished turning to leave with Liam. “Yes, thank you Kiuchi. No need to apologize, I asked even if I was unprepared for an answer.” Curiosity had bitten him in the a** again, much as it had repeatedly over the years. Watching as they left out of the corner of his eye, he couldn’t help but think about how odd they were. It was good to make friends with more of the court though, as long as his presence didn’t upset the balance too much.
“I am sorry that my questioning led to such a dark topic.” Pulling them into a hug for just a moment, he held on tightly before taking a deep breath. There was that nervous tension again and he really wanted to smoke when they got out of here. He had some answers now but even more questions, some of which there may not even be answers for.
“Home yes but I am unsure if I have any appetite right now.” Looking at them as he moved their bangs out of their face, he was glad that there were no cracks around their starseed or forehead but the uncertainty of things bothered him. At least the court was all in the same boat, a group of people to rely on that looked after their own. It was a consolation for that uncertainty but he would do what he could to help if there was anything he could do to help.
“I still would like to come back here at some point, if you do decide to build up a space of your own here after what we have learned today. I will support you either way.”

“It’s ok, I’m fine with it. I know we are chaos, even if we don’t act it.” Unlike the Negaverse and how they were, at least most of the time and most members, his side did not act like you’d expect them to. “We gather energy just like your side, we have a similar aura, I expect some dark things.” But not to that sort of extreme. Though he had a feeling the negaverse offered even more darkness than the dark mirror court did.
“I will, it’s all we have, I might as well make something of it. If I don't, someone else will, so what does it matter?” Shrugging as he spoke, he kept one hand on the other's waist. “I think I could do with some food personally, so maybe food out would work.” So neither of them had to attempt cooking, which he wasn’t all that great with anyway. He was limited in what he could make, as he’d always been limited in ingredients and he’d been a child under the care of adults who did the cooking.
“Let’s go, we’ll come back whenever you’re ready and if you have questions I can’t answer I’ll ask around.” Which might just lead him to Kiuchi again, the other was an eternal afterall. Knowing the other had notebooks full of information he smiled. “Kiuchi is the senshi of gorgons. I think his magic makes people ill.” Knowing he’d file that information away. Tugging the other back through the mirror they’d arrived in he headed them back for home…and food.
