[Etana 4]
Etana shook her head at the callings of Tala. "It's not safe to rush in. We'll take it slow, and we'll go inside once it's deemed safe."
The group lowered themselves in the depths, coming down to the ground level of the ancient port. The algae and barnacles had called the small town home after all of these years and had overgrown large portions of the decrepit buildings surrounding them.
Etana looked down at the ground around them, noting a spiral shape tracing its way over the ground. It looked like a larch conch shell, created out of a series of smooth stones. Written around it were odd runes, nothing like those she had seen before. "Any of this looking like something to you Pello?" She called out to her mate.
The words had no sooner left her mouth than a low rumbling seemed to shake the floor of the waters themselves. "Whatever that is, I don't know if we want any part of it." She scanned her kids' faces quickly, making note of their demeanor before looking to Pello for guidance.

[ Pello 4 ]
He continued to follow behind, watching carefully as the younglings became more confident. It was important that they still took their time, as confidence without skill could lead to disaster. He wanted them to grow comfortable in this world, and hoped that they could learn quickly and enjoy the waters they were made to live in.
As he arrived next to his partner, he looked down at the shell's markings. It took awhile, but he slowly realized he could read it, if roughly.
"Here sleeps...sadness and darkness. Locked, to be opened by keys?" He roughly translated, blinking as the ground shook.
"Darkness...maybe evil. Is this a cage?" He asked as he pushed back lightly, his hand coming out to snake around Keiba and Tala's arms in a light grip.

[ Keiba 4 ]
The shaking was not something they enjoyed, and Keiba felt their heart flutter lightly for a beat or two. Quiet and thoughtful, but they were not necessarily brave, and eagerly moved closer to their father when his hand reached out. Eyes glanced about before landing on their mother, realizing she was a bit farther than they would have liked.
