Drako gets to his feet only to very quickly be taken down with a single leg takedown and now is back in a side headlock on the mat. Quickly he rolls his right shoulder off the mat enough to avoid the count starting but now he's gotta find a way out.
The champion rolls to his side to get his knee under himself, attempting to push both himself and Bad Boy to a vertical base again

Bad Boy was putting as much pressure into the hold as possible, getting as much out of it as he could early! He knew it wouldn't last long because of Drako's ability, but the simplest things can get you far.
Drako pushed his way back to his feet, forcing Bad Boy to stand with him. Sensing he was about to fight out, Brad makes the switch up and attempts to switch his arms into a Snapmare, looking to have Drako sitting up in momentum of the move, and attempt a short jumping Dropkick to the middle of the back!

Snapmares are always so jarring and within moments the champion finds himself sitting in the ring only for searing pain to hit him right in the middle of his spine courtesy of a dropkick.
"Damn it!"
Drako hissed the curse out reflexively and rolls towards the ropes. He's going to feel that one later

Bad Boy stood back up, looked around at the cheering fans after the hit. Nodding to them he turned around seeing Drako get to the ropes and crouched in a ready position, allowing him to stand up after the quick exchange.

Drako has quite a bit on his mind as he rolls through and gets to his feet again. Well, at least Bad Boy's basics didn't seem to have suffered from ring rust thus far. The champ rolls his shoulders and exhales, his eyes on Bad Boy. Time to try again

Bad Boy stood up fully, keeping his eyes on Drako. It's good to know that he still had the capability to stay move for move with Drako so far in the match. Both started with the same speed they had in their matches a few years ago.
Bad Boy was feeling the energy from being in the ring once again, he missed this feeling. Even if years are spent away, some people just have that ability within them, and when they return things like fundamentals come back to them quite quickly! He was in his element, being in the ring competing!
Taking the steps forward again, raising his arms, Brad shoots in, looking for another lock up!

Drako goes into the lock up, but not with the most positive of intent. He'd quickly look to catch Bad Boy in a side headlock but with an ulterior motive. To punch him right in the face once he has him there

As expected, Bad Boy was put into the Headlock, although he was getting the air squeezed out of his head, he took a moment to gather his thoughts to how he gets out of this.
Suddenly he takes a shot to the forehead! Dropping to a knee! Not something he expected out of Drako!

times have changed, and perhaps Bad Boy hadn't kept up with the champ's distinct change of style since Backlash. But with him down on one knee, the champ attempts a straight kick to the side of the head to take him down

Bad Boy was caught off guard, and really it's the first contact, the first shot, made at him in years. Not at all expecting it dazed him. The crowd letting out a bit of booing, as the kick from Drako to the head caught Brad flush behind his ear! The crowd letting out an "Ooooo" upon hearing the shot! Brad's body turned as he crumpled to the side, ending up laying on his left shoulder, his back to Drako!

fans might not be overly happy about that one, but Drako is here to win. Years of history with Bad Boy means any encounter with him is personal, and the last time he took on an old rival and hesitated for a moment, he got screwed out of a win.
Walking over to the downed Bad Boy, he looks to grab his right arm and twist it into a quick armbar submission hold

Brad was wincing, his eyes closed tight, trying to force out the pain from his head. He's always had an issue with head trauma since his initial return to the WWF back in 2015! Once again it starts!
Suddenly Bad Boy feels his arm being grabbed and pulled back, forcing him on his back! Pain shooting through his arm as his arm is being pulled in an attempt to hyperextend it! Brad has felt this before, and his instinct is to push his feet on the canvas, trying to alleviate the pain in his arm enough to stop it from hurting so much and settle the damage down!

truth be told, Drako has his own issues to work through, so his targeted attacks are as much to help himself as to wear down Bad Boy. The champion looks to tweak the arm in the armbar a bit, as he wants Bad Boy down and frankly he'd take a tap out victory anyday. Unlikely from this hold but Drako has plenty more when it comes down to it

Bad Boy had his arm twisted and pulled at, letting his feet away and laid there for a few seconds to try to figure out a plan. Suddenly finding an idea.
Pushing his feet again off the mat, Brad looked to roll back, arm still in the grasp of Drako, and attempted to stack him on his shoulders for a modified School Boy pin!

Drako finds himself caught in a pin, much to his own surprise.
one...two,.
Drako rolls his shoulder up, and rolls, attempting to pull Bad Boy down into a fujiwara armbar instead
