Ekanite sat up, letting out a breath of air before taking an even bigger breath now that he was able to. He lifted his drumsticks and sent them away, not wanting to be the only one with weapons drawn at this point. The fight was over, though he had to chalk it up to another loss. at least it was a learning experience.
He did smile as the other spoke, nodding his head along.
"That sounds really nice. I'm sorry I attacked you. It's hard to know, you know, stuff like that before hand. When you start thinking about how everyone is going through similar things, or different but just as hard things... it makes doing what you have to do a lot harder. I guess. I'm trying my best... but I understand what you're saying, too. It's the people that matter the most. No matter who they are or how we love them."
He sighed, looking thoughtful. It had been a long time since he thought about what he wanted for himself, and he realized that was probably how Painite felt, as well. They were so busy worrying about each other, trying to do what was best for the other, they were forgetting themselves. Though, in a way, Ekanite felt that was what Painite wanted.
"I guess I just want a chance to figure out what I want. Get to a place where I can make my own choices," he finally said. He grinned, perking up. "That doesn't seem too hard, when I say it out loud!"

"It's alright. You were doin' what you thought you had to do. But now you know you don't gotta do it." It was a little silly to tell a Negaverser not to fight when the guide book said they needed to drain people, but hey! Maybe some folks could change! "You think it might be easy, but boy oh boy it can take years! I didn't know what I wanted for a long time, and then suddenly, you kinda fall into it. But yer young, you got lots of time. Make sure you don't get yerself hurt before you can figure it out. And hey! Think of it this way. Imagine if the person who saved your life hears you got dreams now. That you want to live and want to succeed, beyond just the Negaverse? Haha! I remember when I told my mum I wanted to move to Destiny City and work in the mountains. She was just really happy I had a dream and wanted to keep living... To keep thinkin' of the future. I bet yer Boss will feel the same!"

Ekanite chuckled, nodding his head. He doubted he would get away with going the pacifist route, but he would certainly be more careful about what fights he did and did not engage in. And thought Crocoite had some good points about how he engaged in his battles, Ekanite was finding he was not the 'strike first, strike hard, no mercy' type.
Not that he felt like he had much of a wax on, wax off style, either. He would just have to come up with his own way.
"That's a good point... maybe I don't talk to Painite enough. I mean, I probably talk at her more than to her," Ekanite looked thoughtful, but excited. He once again found himself wishing he could teleport, but not because he wanted to escape. He wanted to rush back to the home he shared with Painite, the home she had invited him into after the death of his mother, and ask her how she was doing. Maybe he could take care of the chores and get dinner going, if she was tired! Maybe the answers he needed weren't in the Negaverse at all, even if that was where most of the trouble and questions were coming from.
"I really appreciate all your help, sir! Oh, uhm. My name is Ekanite!" He offering an apologetic bow. "I'm really sorry, again, for attacking you! Maybe if we run into each other again, I can tell you how my talk with Boss goes!"

"Yes boy, talk WITH her! People love talking with you." Mocona gave a hearty laugh at the thought of this kid trying to hold a proper conversation with someone with *feelings*. It was a hard situation, for sure, but with enough focus, he was certain he could do it. A little bit of a pat was given on his shoulder at the bow. "See, I knew you were a good kid! Don't worry about it. And I'm Mocona. If you ever want to talk again, just wander around these parts. I don't always come around or patrol, being a normal person is more important to me most of the time, but if there's somethin' weird going on then... I'll probably be here." Speaking of which, that strange, horned creature everyone was talking about was standing there, looming in the fog. "OI! Get on now, Get outta here! Get!" Mocona shooed the creature away, and after a moment, it vanished. "... Ugh. Blech, Looks like I gotta keep on huntin'... Now you go home now and give your Boss a hug and talk to her, okay? Next time I see you, I wanna hear good news!"

Ekanite nodded his head, making sure to take note of the name but 'forget' it in a sense that he would not be sharing it with Crocoite in his information hunting. It wasn't like he had seen much of anything, anyway, and really only learned that he, Ekanite, could be defeated by a piece of fabric.
That probably wasn't the information his new mentor wanted, anyway.
"That's good to know! If I do come out to visit, I'll make sure it's a talk first situation next time! Thank you again!" He chuckled, waving and not seeming to notice the monster in the fog at all. He was fairly oblivious, despite his love on investigating the odd. Just because he liked it did not mean he was good at it.
He trotted off, determined to go and make sure Painite had a good night, and maybe learn a bit more about what she was going through. In a way, that would benefit Crocoite as well, though Ekanite had no idea just what he was being used for. Nor the depth of patience the crocodile really had.
