“Is that so? Then job well done.” Praised Ezili, still thoroughly amused by the whole situation. Maybe performance was just in her family genes as well even if her parents didn’t have it at least her grandmother and uncle did! As for the chaos aspect? Well, she just kind of went with it because it was fun regardless of her family’s influence on her life. Which was why her expression was a bit too mischievous at the question, Ezili laughing at it as she pondered the answer. Why would they want to get rid of her, indeed? “I don’t know. Maybe I’m just too energetic for their tastes?” She teased lightly, knowing very well that the multitude of pranks behind her definitely did not earn her any favors within her home village with the rangers.
That reaction though. Ezili blinked, realizing that mentioning her grandmother’s school had for some reason startled the young swordsman. It didn’t take long for the girl to piece together the earlier statements, Elias mentioning his parents being performers and his father coming from the same direction of the school, and the very realization made a grin return to her lips. “Oh? So am I correct in assuming we may run into each other more often? I’m staying here for the season, you know.” And then maybe even longer depending on how things went, considering she hadn’t really taken up a place with the rangers like her older siblings had. So errands it was until Ezili truly found something worth keeping her in place for longer, which she doubted considering how much she adored traveling and finding trouble on her own. “Still, wouldn’t it be fun to surprise your father by coming out of the school from behind him or something rather than simply waiting here?” Plus, they could grab more fruits to eat! Ezili still hadn’t let go of her goal, her stomach feeling a bit more empty than expected after all that traveling to finally arrive here in Matori.

Elias 9 " I appreciate the kind words," he answered, perhaps more truthfully than he had expected of himself. He had never been one for dramatics or the theatre, not like his parents had been. Elias knew his father had a background that consisted of various acrobatics both at heights and on solid ground, while his mother was a pure dancer. They'd tried to teach him a little of it when he was younger, but he had never stuck to it or even enjoyed it all that much. "I'm sure my mother would be very proud." Apparently one just picked up certain skills over the years, whether they wanted to or not.
"I apologize if that was a bit of a, uh....Dramatic reaction." The hybrid grinned sheepishly, shrugging his shoulders against his earlier words and thoughts about the theater. "Performer's son. Can't escape it, I guess." Still, though. That was the last thing he had expected to find today, more family of the school, despite he knew there were a lot of them. Of course he'd naturally find some on his own. "Seems so. My father likes to help out your grandmother and I've been training with Cahira." He patted the sword at his hip, standing up a bit straighter. "He'd be surprised, for sure. And I did only get half of my snack," he added with a grin, feeling all sorts of mischievous when he'd always been so dutiful. These types of thoughts never entered his own mind. Whenever he had to wait around for his parents, he'd always stay in the same place, ever patient. Never even wandering around to explore the area.

“Well, if you ever need to put on another show for them just let me know.” Joked Ezili, tossing back her shoulders proudly as she looked over Elias. “It’s easy enough to come up with scenarios, it’s one of my many talents.” A bold statement, but she was fairly confident considering the vast amount of pranks she had pulled off over the years. And if the other hybrid was going to be in the area it was always good to have an accomplice, at least on occasion when she wasn’t messing with him. Though speaking of messing with him, there was a devious glint in Ezili’s gaze as she held onto their previous joke as something she would not forget easily. A piece of fruit for an engagement gift, hmm? She wondered what type of reaction she could get if she casually brought it up again later on.
Ezili made a tsk noise and shook her head. “No need to apologize. I know the revelation was surely world breaking.” She teased him with a grin, her lips curving up a bit more at the performer’s son comment and at the confirmation. “My aunt can be very energetic. You must have a lot of energy to keep up as her student.” At least Cahira was more relaxed and willing to play around more than her actual parents, the pair of them had plenty of energy but used it to keep her in line or to do actual work. Though at least it seemed like here she wouldn’t need to worry about such things as much. Ezili’s expression only brightened more at the response from Elias, the trickster feeling that they would be going towards the school then after all. “That’s very true. It was an unfortunate thing and it’s only fair that I repay you.” She joked again, winking playfully as she straightened her belongings and started forward to guide Elias towards the school. “So let’s go! Have you used the side entrance yet? It was a loading area for when the school was a tavern, leading to the backstage and towards the kitchen with less chances of being noticed.” It was one of many secret routes she had found while visiting the school as a child, Ezili more than willing to find more while staying here once more for the season. It was only fair that she shared at least one secret for now, Ezili knowing she had quite a few tricks up her sleeves that she hoped to surprise the others with.

Elias 10 "Is it now?" Elias asked, intrigued. He had to admit the performance she had put on herself had been quite entertaining, more so for anyone else looking in on it from the outside. Even he had thought so and it had been he who had just been made a fool out of.
"I will admit, it was a shock. I never expect to meet more of your family when I come out here." Granted, this was also how he'd met Cahira, while waiting outside for his parents as a youngling with no other family members around to watch him. And, since he had never been interested in the art of dance, he had always choose to go outside and swing his little toy sword around. Some things never really changed. "Don't most of you live further away?" Or else he would be meeting even more of them all the time, right? They seemed like a big family. "Well....At least you admit your mistakes," he teased back, wagging a finger lightly at her and giggling. "Might want to repay that quick before I add on extra as compensation for the trauma of being laughed at."
"No, I have not," returned the teenager, his eyes once more lighting up in curiosity. Despite his usually good manners, he felt himself easily getting swept up in Ezili's energy. Most of those around him were as well behaved as himself. He hoped she wasn't expecting a larger reaction from his father when they met up with him later. Nothing short of a natural disaster would get Kayde worked up.

Ezili simply smirked in response, the glint in her gaze confirming that she was quite confident of her skills when it came to performances. She did truly enjoy them because she hated being bored and it was always entertaining to see how others reacted to the surprises or scenes she prepared. Which was partly why she was out here as it was instead of being back home with the rangers, not that Ezili minded.
“Really? You should always be prepared to meet some of my family. There’s a few of us and someone is always visiting grandmother throughout the year.” Ezili gave a slight shrug, simply accepting that despite having a home in the forest her family members were constantly away for missions and the like. That didn’t even include her cousins or all of her uncles and aunts who still roamed the Matori and Oba area. “Even though we live in different areas we still visit here, especially my family since a lot of the rangers come towards Oba for escort missions. Mother always makes certain to ask them to check in on the others since she doesn’t travel as often herself because she’s so focused on her art.” Her focus returned to Elias and herself, a laugh escaping her at the finger wagging. “Mistakes? I don’t know if I would consider it that, but I will repay you.” She had no regret about her actions, if anything she was still delighted by it and had fully enjoyed that fruit without any remorse.
Just like she wouldn’t regret showing Elias that side door, Ezili grinning as she motioned for him to follow her. “Perfect. It seems there’s a few things you may not know yet, we’ll see what I decide to show you.” She teased lightly as she started along the path so that she could get them to that side entrance quickly without being spotted. There was more fruit to be had and she was determined to enjoy every moment she had this afternoon until her arrival was noticed.
