For once Inali hesitated, wanting to comfort her father who had agreed with her. The youngling finished fixing up his hair, giving his large arm a squeeze as she hugged him before jumping from the bed. "I think you're good. My turn!" She moved towards the bag of clothing, pulling out her crimson cloak with a golden embroidery of leaves and butterflies, the girl tying in on top of her knight's tunic and leggings that were finished with a pair of soft leather boots and the hat that she had been so excited to wear.
Pushing the orange and purple feathers back, Inali tilted her chin proudly so that she could present herself to her father. "What do you think? Do I look like a knightly hunter now?" She beamed, even putting a hand on the little sword and sheath that her mother had made for her. Apparently giving her access to arrows was still a bit dangerous considering Inali's records but a soft sword with only a wooden handle had seemed a good compromise. "Think we can go show Mama and Eyvin soon or should we be more patient?" As hard as that concept was, Inali was trying to behave since she knew her brother needed a bit more coaxing if he was going to join them tonight. She was just so excited to see him with Mama! If her and Papa looked this good then surely they were amazing!

Eyvin 5
Her squeal brought an awkward blush to his cheeks as well as a small smile. Eyvin did like looking nice so even though he still had reservations about going he was content letting her fawn over him. When she paused on his crystals, though, he felt his eyes drop once more only to raise with a surprised tint. "They are?" They were like his grandmother's? "So...I'm not that different from the family after all." He was still off from his immediate family, but having that connection gave Eyvin something to hold onto. He could feel the pricks of tears in his eyes, but for once Eyvin's smile was keeping them at bay. It was a small little thing, though it's genuine nature held a stronger core. He wanted to tell his mother she looked beautiful, that his costume was really nice, but Eyvin knew if he talked right then that he'd lose it and make a mess again. So, instead, he took a deep breath and stood straight so she could work.

Aurick 5
Taking a deep breath, Aurick rose to his full height and walked over to the dressing table for the rest of his costume. He pulled a waistcoat with long, embroidered tails over his shoulders and affixed a horribly ostentatious cravat about his neck. The deep burgundy and burnt orange accents worked well with hair while giving his eyes a chance to pop with bits of accent colors in the tails. Getting into his boots was another matter entirely. Finding boots that went to the thigh for a man of his size was a custom job, one that meant a lot of trips to a cobbler but honestly, looking at himself in the mirror...Aurick had to admit it worked.
Normally he didn't admire himself, but he was feeling the look.
When he turned to get a look at Inali he knew he'd been outshined. "They'll be writing songs about you before the night is over. Oh Legendary Inali, Mistress of the Hunt, Knight of the Realm~" Aurick gave a half bow, angling his arm in just the right way to point toward the doorway. "I think you're good to go if you want."

Harika 5
"Mmmhmm. My mother was a lovely woman, she would have been so happy to know you." Harika had a bright expression as she nodded towards her son, encouraged by the slight shift. "Even if your colors change there's still features that you can't hide so you'll always look like a bit of us." She commented quietly, her finger tracing along his nose and then his cheekbones. "You have eyes that are slightly almond shape like mine, your father's nose and my cheekbones."
Harika knew though it was best to let Eyvin process everything she just said, the hybrid resisting the urge to hug her son since she knew what that look could mean and so she focused on sewing the materials together. The sheer fabrics fit along the frame, the hybrid cutting and sewing the pieces together once she attached it on the wings' harness that blended in with his jacket. Ever so quietly she hummed along as she worked at snipping and sewing everything into place, years of practice making her movements quick and precise. Eventually though the final piece was attached, the wings looking like a collage of color similar to a butterfly's actual wings. "And I think we're finished. Do you want to give a twirl and then show Inali and Papa?"

Inali 5
Inali beamed at her father, her expression brightening with the praise until she let out a giggle. "Maybe that's a bit too much, Papa!" She laughed, shaking her head at his titles for her even though she was absolutely delighted with them. "You look like the Lordliest Lord of them all! Mama may not let you leave the house!" She had heard the tease once before and enjoyed the idea of their mother hiding their father away cause he was just too handsome to show the world! "I think we should come up with a story for us. We need to be in a storybook." That was how fantastic they all looked! She wondered if her mother truly was a magic user because there was just something mystical about their outfits that made her truly believe they were living a fantasy life.
Clutching her toy sword in her hand, Inali raised it and nodded at her father's approval. "Then let's venture forward, charge!" She cried out with another giggle, darting forward to stumble to a halt at the sight of her brother and mother. "You both look amazing!" She squealed, nearly darting over to hug Eyvin before remembering the wings and stopping. Oh man! She loved being a knight, but those wings were so cool! Maybe being a fairy princess wouldn't have been such a horrible idea after all? But then again...she did enjoy having her sword and leggings instead of skirts even if that silk dress looked amazing on her mother.

Eyvin 6
The little one waited patiently as she worked, noticing voices in the other room for the first time since coming out of the bathroom and feeling guilty for it. Would Papa be mad at him for taking so long? Or maybe Inali would be frustrated that they weren't already at the academy?
At least for the moment that's where his worries had shifted and doubts about his place in their home were banished. When he was given the all clear to move, Eyvin lowered his arms, took a few steps forward and gave a twirl. Every time he look over his shoulder he could see the wings and when the rest of his family came back his smile was bright. "So do you, Inali! You look so cool!" And she had a real sword! Not a metal one or anything, but it could have been and she would have used it just like a real knight!

Aurick 6
A story, huh? Well, they did have a theme so maybe they could come up with something on the way? Adjusting his cufflinks as he walked, Aurick rounded the corner and practically beamed when he saw how happy his son was. Leave it to Harika to make magic happen. He knew it was likely temporary, that as soon as Eyvin went back to class it may start back up, but if he was shown enough support then maybe it would back off? And at least, for one night, he was the Prince that Aurick knew him to be.
And without missing a beat, Aurick looked to Harika, "Hello, gourd-geous. Are we all set?"

Harika 6
Harika chuckled at the family's excitement, proud of her work. "Just don't get too carried away with proving your knightly abilities, Inali." She warned her daughter, slightly teasing and somewhat even more serious since she knew her daughter's track record with picking fights. It was hard though to even worry about such things when it felt like a weight was lifted off the family....at least for the night. She truly hoped the children would have a great time and that this could help Eyvin be a bit more confident, enough so that he would go to academy instead of trying to hide at home. She loved spending time with her son, but she worried about him becoming too reclusive if such things continued. But rather than force him into an uncomfortable situation, Harika wanted to help him build his confidence so that it was his own choice to go back to the academy and face those that had teased him. Just hopefully not like Inali faces others, that's all.
Her silk skirts rustled about her ankles, the golden and amber colors moving together almost like some sort of flame as she joined Aurick's side with her more discreet butterfly wings fluttering slightly with the movement as the sheer fabric danced along her lower back. "I believe so my handsome lord." She replied playfully, slipping her arms around his and looking at him with those bright teal eyes, small gemstones and glitter dust swirling along her upper cheekbones right beneath her lined eyes. "What should we do first when we get there? They have treats and games, you know." No haunted hallways....not yet anyways, she didn't want Inali punching someone in the face or Eyvin running home because of a bad scare.

"Of course!" Inali winked playfully at her brother. "I am cool." She tilted her head proudly before watching her parents being all lovey-dovey, shaking her head at their shenanigans. She did move closer to her brother, poking at a wing and grinning at how cool it looked. "Now if only you could actually fly with those." She teased lightly before perking up at the fact that they were ready to leave. Finally!
"Oh, I wanna do games first if we can! Do you think they'll have a stuffed yaotl? That'd be really cool for a knightly hunter to carry around." She had heard about the large lizard creatures in Matori from her mama and would love to carry one of those around tonight to show off! Either way Inali was a ball of energy, her gaze just as bright as she truly was excited about having fun with her family tonight.

Aurick 7
"Games it is, then." Something fun would be just the trick to get Eyvin out of his head for a while and it might be enough to wear Inali out. "We can grab something to eat after a few. Apparently Astra might be involved with one of the instructors so I'm curious to see if we'll see her or not." His sister was a sweet woman, one whose wit should have landed her in THE Academy, but life had pulled her in other directions. He'd wondered for years if she would find someone and from what he'd heard she had.
"What do you say, my lady? Is a bit of snooping beneath the Autumn Queen?"

Eyvin 7
"A yaotl? Why would you want one? They're so scary." They made for fantastic stories, but Eyvin always tried to hide his head when things got too intense. "I wanna find a...." Lifting his hands, he tried to shape how little they were, but the word kept slipping away from him. Eyvin scrunched his face, moving his hands frustratedly until it finally clicked, "a moracker! The little fast ones in Sauti that Zev talked about in class."
He knew his friend wouldn't be attending tonight, but if he could find one then he'd like to get it for him.

Harika 7
Harika laughed as she tried to play around in a bit of character. "Oh, darling." She teased Aurick with a grin, her tone royal for the moment. "The fairy courts thrive on gossip. I am most curious to see what engagements others may have." She squeezed his arm affectionately before glancing over at the children and nodding at their conversation. A soft laugh escaped her about the disagreement, both children picking creatures that fit their personalities perfectly and showed how opposite they truly could be at times. "We will quest for both creatures, hopefully some will show up at the festivities." And with that the queen tugged her lord forward and started leading their procession from the house and hopefully towards what would be a charming evening.

Inali 7
"Cause any good knightly hunter would have one!" That was one of the most common quests, finding dangerous creatures and defeating them! Inali puffed up at the thought, her hand going to her toy sword as if ready to march into battle. She made a face at the idea of a moracker before brightening up at her mother's suggestion. "Okay, we'll quest for both then! A test of strength and speed." She teased playfully, nudging her brother as the family started out on their way to the festivities. Inali was definitely looking forward to this, they were going to have so much fun! She was certain of it!
