Even though his hand hurt, Layn was still reluctant to give up. How would they ever find the tree if they didn't go now? What if it stopped pollening and they lost any way of tracking it? He shouldn't have gone for that knife. With a brief frown he followed her inside, thinking the whole way.
Okay. Maybe he was overreacting. It might be possible to ask around and find the people who were closer to the tree right now who could point them in the right direction in the future. It wouldn't be that bad. He nodded, grinning at Linnea.
