Phoenix walked lightly down the road and soon came upon the woman she had met before. "Hello again! Don't worry, I'm not chasing after you to sell you anything." she said merrily and laughed. "I'm headed to Girash, too." Phoenix had mixed feelings about Girash. There were lots of vendors, which meant that she couldn't peddle her goods, but the crowds were attracted to her dancing and singing. The crowds were nice after the lonely road, but there were also a lot of mean people out there.

"Oh." Shateque replied. She felt dumb only saying that, but she could not think of anything else to say. "Oh! Well, if we're basically going to travel to Girash together... well, that is if you want to... My name's Shateque. You can call me what you want, though; just tell me so I know you're talking to me." She held her bottle of water towards the woman. "I have some water if you're thirsty. Don't worry; I'm not sick or anything."

"Well thank you very much, Shateque!" she took the water bottle, drank a small sip, and handed it back. "My name's Phoenix. Strange, I know. Its so nice of you to want to travel with me. Most people want to stay as far away as possible from Gypsies and peddlers." She laughed again, it was good to have someone to talk to once in a while. "So what's bringing you to Girash in such a hurry?"

"Heh..." Shateque laughed embaressedly. "I forgot to return this book I borrowed. She wants it back." She pulled a small pocket-sized book from her pocket and showed it to Phoenix then stuck it back in her pocket. "So why are you headed to Girash?" Mentally smacking herself, she thought, "That was brilliant, so original... I'm awful trying to keep up a conversation, much better at listening." She struggled to keep from falling into her usual very slow pace; she was late as it was and didn't want to be a drag on Phoenix.

"Well, you know those flyers that were being put up? They said something about an expedition to Black Rock Butte. I figure that I've been everywhere else, why not see something new for a change? So I'm going to Girash because that's where it said anyone who wanted to go would meet up." Phoenix pulled some bread out of her bag. "Would you like some?"

Shateque's stomach growled when she saw the bread. "Yeah, if you don't mind. I forgot about eating today." She continued, "Black Rock Butte... I haven't heard of that. Maybe I should check it out when I return the book. Plus, I'll have an excuse not to clean." She smiled cheerfully. The thought of not having to clean was great and all the more reason to go on an extended journey. "Not like it matters." she thought as she tried to push away the guilty feeling, "They should be happy because now they won't have my contribution to the Mountain Mess they call my room. They could even put up caution signs around it." This seemed so hilarious to her that she couldn't help laughing out loud at the thought.

"What's so funny?" Phoenix handed a couple of pieces of bread to Shateque. She seems nice, maybe we'll be able to go on the expedition together. Phoenix thought, as she bit into a piece of bread.

Yoder smirked a little at her initial remark. Surprised by what she said next he though, "Her? A miner? Well, I've seen stranger things before, I guess." She smiled in an effort to appear charming, but Yoder didn't care for her all that much. Hearing the rest of her statement he deducted, "Based on the way she acts, I wouldn't be surprised if she was talking about her self." She muttered a little something to herself, and inquired about Raish. This caught his attention, and he spoke, "Yes, I did. Well, I arrived only a few hours ago. 'What' exactly are you speaking of?" How she knew something about Raish that he didn't, he couldn't figure, but was very curious.

Kaitlyn shook her head, her brow furrowed in confusion. "Raish has the Bandits from the Dark Knight headed towards them. I thought that our messangers made it there...oh no." Kait rushed past him, then stopped, turning on her heel abruptly,"Worry over you goods later, we need to get to the border of End's Meet and fast. There is a Drake there that can fly us to Raish. We need to evacuate your people before those night burn them to death."
She offered her hand to him, acting a completely different person than she had moments earlier."Come, Raish is all we have left as a farming community and is someone does not fight for them then no one will. "
((and so it begins...mwahahaha!))

"Thanks." Shateque took the bread offered to her. After a bite, she answered Phoenix's question, "Oh. Sorry. I was just imagining them putting up caution signs around my room and declaring it a national disaster of sorts." She laughed a little bit more. "I suppose you now have a rough idea of what it looks like." She took another bite of the bread. "Yum. This is really good. Did you make it yourself?" Taking a smaller bite this time, she tried not to gobble it all down at once.

"No, being on the road all the time, I don't have the resources to make my own bread." She took another bite of her piece, she continued after she had finished eating it. "I got this off a woman who needed a couple of buttons, but didn't have the coins to pay for it, so she gave me the bread instead. Say, It looks like we're coming up to the border - it looks like they've got a Drake up there."

"Wow! A Drake! I love those things!!!" Shateque exclaimed. "Let's go see it!" She took off running as fast as she could which was not very fast. "Good thing it isn't too far... It'd be so embarrasing to collapse exhausted to the ground in front of Phoenix." Her legs ached, and her breathing became short and fast; but she kept on running until she was only a few yards from the drake. She stopped and forced herself to stand up straight while she regained her breath and tried to look like she was not going to fall over. She had seen Drakes before, but had never ridden on one.

Phoenix ran after Shateque, more like a jog than a run, being on the road all the time she didn't tire as fast as Shateque did. "They are amazing, aren't they?" She had also never ridden one before, but had seen them on several occassions. "I wonder whose it is."

((lol. Yes, a Drake is something akin to a mixture of bat and Dragon. Approxiamately three times larger than a horse it's maximum capacity for riders is three to fours persons depending on the beasts stamina. Heh, I am sort of a D&D nerd...sorry. I will post once Yoder does and then we will all be on our way...well...close to it anyways...))

((That's okay. I'm a huge fantasy freak, so I know almost all mythical creatures.))
Yoder stood, stunned. THE Bandits of the Dark Knight!? They were a notorious group that plundered and pillages every town they came across. Yoder had always thought that, since Raish wasn't too far from a big city like Girash, they would be safe. "I'll bet they cut the messangers off before they could reach raish. I'm lucky that I missed them, but I must get back." They began to walk rapidly down the road. "Goods? How could I even think about goods at a time like this? A drake? Yes, a drake. That's perfect for fast and cheap travel." He noded to her and they bolted for the drake. Nearing the drake's post, Yoder noticed two other women running towards it as well. "Great, just what we need. Some tourists. Well, hopefully they won't be too insulted if we take it first."
