"Lioe..." Goddess, he looked so damn sad. Like that duruf she'd accidentally kicked on her way into the city, but so much worse. A few treats wouldn't fix this hurt and yet, leaving it alone wasn't an option either. "It's that bad, huh?" Aerexa didn't know how airships operated, what kinds of things went into making them or what sort of folk were needed to keep it going. From what Lioe had told her it was hard, physical work and while she could respect that she also knew how bad it must have been for it all to go belly up.

If something like that fell from the sky then there would be a lot of people who weren't coming home and many more who would bear it's mark for the rest of their lives.

"What if I went with you? That way all you gotta do is focus on your family and I can handle the rest. Bags, places to stay, stuff like that." It would be her first time going away from home, and that was a little daunting, but....yeah, nah, she could handle it. "It's...it's like mom says. Fear is only as strong as you allow it to be and once you push back just once it loses it's power."

It could have been so much worse. Part of him knew he was being a bit excessive, but he couldn't help it. He'd was completely unprepared for this. Without the actual information and people right in front of him, his mind was able to fan the flames of his conflicting emotions and fears. It was too personal to face objectively.

The offer finally raised him from the deep. His head rose slowly, but the shock on his expression was sharp. "You would do that for me?" At first, he shook his head. "I-I couldn't ask you to do that." Yet, the very thought of having her accompany him was easing the tension in his chest. Not by much, but it was noticeable to him. Wouldn't it be that much easier knowing she was there for him? Ask for something so big on his own behalf though? He started to duck his head again, but not quite as far down as before. "If you did go.. I think it would help." He winced at how selfish his own words sounded in his head. "B-but you don't have to if you don't really want to. I'll need someone to watch the houses..."

"Let's keep going to your place, alright?" If he was going to keep getting more emotional out on the street then he might cry and Aerexa had a feeling Lioe would hate doing that out here. She wouldn't blame him, but getting him to talk this much was borderline spectacular and the chances of him shutting down after a public incident were too high.

"Well, I mean, you aren't asking me. I offered." So long as she kept her distance and supported from the sidelines then his family wouldn't object, would they? I'd think having him there would be more important then how he got there in the first place. "Didn't you say your sister was staying with someone? Your Uncles? Can't they watch them? If they aren't taking care of her then they can stop by to...do whatever house sitting is." What did they have in their houses that needed to be watched, anyway? Some kind of critter?

His place? He blinked and looked around, his face flaring hotly. Was he really doing this out in the middle of the street?! At least it wasn't too busy, but even a few people staring was bad enough. He nodded quickly and turned to continue on toward his house. It was right there... Ugh.

With a deep breath, he peeked over his shoulder to give Aerexa a wary but appreciative look. She would really go across the ocean to help him see his family? It would have been so much easier to just wait here until they returned... but she was right. Going to see them was important. Far more important than his own discomforts and fears. "Yeah, my uncles. I don't know if they're going to Matori or not. I'll.. I'll stop by there in the morning and ask what they've planned. If they're not going..."

His steps slowed enough so that he could reach back and take Aerexa's hand to give it a squeeze. "I know.. I'm not really great with.. talking... but that helped. Thanks."

The Vandrea were just as much a sisterhood as they were a race, and the value of community ran strong in Aerexa's veins. Leaving Lioe to figure this out on his own didn't settle well with her, so any sense of anxiety and apprehension was put out of mind. There was so much she needed to do, so much packing and what did she even need to pack? Mother will know. Stryxx was well traveled so Aerexa knew she'd have just the thing.

There was that word again; IF. Instead of nodding, Aerexa pointed toward the earthling, "I'm going home, getting my things and I'll be at the skyport tomorrow morning. See you then!" It was going to be a lot of work just getting back home, let alone getting back here with enough time to leave and oh - maybe now was a good time to mention she had no coins? Eh, Lioe could figure that out.

Looking down at their joined hands, Aerexa raised her head with a smile, "You'd do the same." And she really believed that.
