Oh yes, it wasn't comfortable. It was probably only his desperation to be close, and the thin blanket draped around her shoulders, that made the embrace tolerable. The thought did make him more eager to get her to lay down again so she could rest. As her breathing settled, Uquin carefully loosened his grip, readying to try to entice her back to sleep.

"He was picked up the morning after - he... he wasn't on his own like you were." Uquin said, mournfully. He ached for her, knowing how difficult acclimating would be for someone who had always prided her independence. She would figure it out, she would learn, she had that fire in her, but it would be some time before she got there. It was okay to mourn, right now.

"The last I saw him, before coming to get you, he still had both and they were healing well. I promise." Just what had happened? Isaia had refused to even talk about the accident, acting so jovial and excited to see them that as a healer Uquin had been unnerved. He'd assumed that he must have received his injuries in the fall, but... if Maritza had seen them before, that spoke of something happening on board. He wanted to pry, but he wasn't foolish. Instead, he pat her back, once, then moved to lay her down properly, tucking the blanket once again around her.

A flash of discomfort came across Maritza's face. Not at the feeling of being moved, but rather at the memories of being alone. There had been moments of consciousness...moments where she'd seen other bodies clinging to life and calling out to them only for silence to greet her. At least he hadn't had to go through that...There were others and he was cared for. She could...she could work with that. For now it was enough.

"That's good. Isaia's going to need them." That was his name. She could see a face so clearly, with his mix matched eyes and the intelligence behind them...But he was so young. Too young for all of this. Maritza allowed herself to be manipulated into a more comfortable position against the bed, and while her hand released Uquin's it shifted instead to his top. Anytime he would move too far, even if it was to shift her shoulders or move a pillow, she would hold on that much tighter.

"Don't leave. Stay?" If she fell asleep would he still be here? Or was this another trick of her mind? It felt real, she hoped it was anyway. "I don't want the fire to come back..."

Uquin's lips twitched into a tired, but relieved smile. He wasn't sure how far her memory issues went - she seemed to recall him, enough to know he could be trusted at least, but ... but far did that recognition go? He hoped it was just stress from her injuries, and that upon recovering they would return without too much damage. Remembering Isaia, despite how... stressful their last meeting had been, was a good sign. Remembering his name was even better.

Her memory loss aside... Uquin had thought the vulnerability of her pregnancy with Marcella would be the last time he saw Maritza like this. It was bittersweet, to see her so frightened, while also realizing she trusted him enough to help her in such a moment.

Once he'd settled her back down, he gave in to his prior temptation and carefully pet her hair back from her face. "I'll stay. I'll take care of you." He promised, continuing to gently caress her hair, in hopes of lulling her to sleep. "I'm here."

Maritza gave a contented 'hmm' and begrudgingly settled back onto the bed. Exhaustion and bodily aches were pulling too strong for her to stay conscious much longer. "Sauti's much...warmer than it was...last time..." The last time their ship landed it had been to a crisp, foggy morning in Sauti and her sweat soaked skin had chilled. It was too warm here...Something about that ticked at her mind, but Maritza was far too tired to fuss over it.

Instead, she focused on her hand ghosting across her skin as if she were made of porcelain. Her lashes fluttered, occasionally dipping closed entirely before the lightning woman would force them open. "I need to...we have t-to...to.." And with the last of her strength fading Maritza slipped into slumber.

For a moment, Uquin wondered if some pain medicine would be needed in order to help her sleep. But perhaps she was just that exhausted, because before too long she settled down to rest, even if her ever clever mind fought against the urge.

She was... clearly not fully recovered, mentally. But it would be unrealistic to expect such, after what she had gone through. It... it was enough, for now, just to find her alive, breathing, and convinced that she was once again among friends.

He bent low over her and kissed her hair, uncaring of how dirty she still was from fevers and sickness. Soon, he'd need to pen a letter back home for Lioe and Rivyn and Marcella - and hopefully have someone from the village go back to Zadia and Isaia with the news. But for now, he stood watch over his wife, giving in to the quiet temptation to weep in relief that she wasn't lost.
